Chapter 134

Scarlett’s POV

I took the tissue Luke handed me and wiped the corner of my mouth.

My stomach was still churning.

"I'm fine," I said with feigned ease, trying hard to hide the impact of what I had just seen in the car.

Their intimate gestures lingered persistently in my mind.

"Will you take me shopping again later? I'd like to buy some skincare products."

Luke's gaze lingered on my face for a moment.

"Of course, Miss Smith, as long as the boss allows it."

He hesitated before adding, "To be honest, the boss's attitude toward Miss Morgan is quite unusual."

This remark didn't make me feel any better.

I nodded without saying anything and walked into the house.

I sat on the living room sofa and took a sip from my water glass.

Just then, Alexander walked in.

His gaze fell on me, and I suddenly realized I was wearing his clothes.

"What is Mr. Gray looking at?"

I set down my glass, meeting his playful expression.

"Looking at my little wildcat."

Then he approached the sofa, picked up the water glass, and drank the remaining water from the same spot my lips had touched.

Catching a glimpse of the red smudge on his lips, I felt somewhat disturbed.

I knew he had many women around him and that I was just a little plaything to relieve his boredom.

"Mr. Gray uses a mouth that's touched other women to drink my water..."

I blurted out, my voice filled with anger.

"Calling you dramatic certainly isn't wrong."

Alexander reached out to pinch my face, but I turned away to avoid him.

I abruptly stood up, grabbing my bag that was leaning against the sofa.

"Since Mr. Gray has Miss Morgan, why come back to me? I should have died at sea that day rather than be toyed with by you like this."

"Angry?" Alexander made no move to stop me but instead sat leisurely on the sofa, observing my every move with interest, as if watching an entertaining play.

I glared at him and quickly walked toward the door.

"Luke! Don't let her leave," Alexander's voice came from behind, cold and decisive.

I had just reached the door when Luke blocked my path.

"Hey, Miss Smith, the boss is just joking," he said somewhat awkwardly. "You might not understand how dangerous it is outside. Vernon's people are watching us everywhere."

"Even if it means death, I don't want to stay here!" I tried to push past Luke, but he didn't budge.

Tears welled up in my eyes, but I desperately held them back.

Did I know what I was doing?

I was jealous.

I, Scarlett Smith, was actually jealous over Alexander.

What right did I have to be jealous?

"I owe Mr. Gray my life. Once I walk out this door, that debt will be settled."

My voice trembled as my emotions finally erupted.

At that moment, I saw Alexander's expression freeze, his gaze becoming very serious.

He stood up and slowly walked over to me, then knelt on one knee, looking me straight in the eye.

"Not only are you dramatic, but you also like to create your own drama?"

Though his tone still carried mockery, his voice had softened considerably.

"Are you really angry?"

He extended his thumb and roughly wiped the corner of my eye.

"What right do I have to be angry with you?"

I let out a soft snort. "If it weren't for you, I would have been shark food by now."

"Well, well! I thought you'd forgotten my kindness, but you remember it clearly!"

The corner of his mouth curled into a smile, yet his eyes were surprisingly gentle.

This gave me the courage to continue: "Is Isabel really that good? Am I just trouble for you?"

He rolled his eyes at me. "What do you think?"

My voice grew quieter. "Because of me, you offended Vernon. Did you lose a lot of interests?"

These questions had been lingering in my mind.

From the moment I was rescued, I knew I owed him too much.

And what could I offer him? Probably nothing but trouble.

"Then how do you plan to repay me? With your body?"

Alexander's voice suddenly deepened, carrying a hint of dangerous seduction.

My face immediately burned, my heartbeat accelerating to the point where it felt like it might leap from my chest.

Before I could answer, he had already lifted me with one arm and was carrying me upstairs.

"So dramatic!" he muttered, though his tone held no real blame.

I didn't struggle, my arms naturally encircling his broad shoulders.

He placed me on the bed and smiled at the newly made sheets.

"Are you planning for a few more rounds? Can your body handle it?"

He looked down at me, his eyes filled with naked desire.

Tears welled in my eyes, blurring my vision, but I could clearly feel his burning gaze.

Just as I was about to surrender completely, I noticed the glaring lipstick mark on his collar.

"Is Violet better, or am I?"

The question slipped out; I couldn't control myself from asking.

"Fool! Why compare yourself to others for no reason?"

"Then is Isabel better, or am I?"

I continued to press, like a child picking at a wound, knowing it would hurt but unable to stop.

Alexander frowned, clearly impatient with this line of questioning.

Finally, I asked the question that had been circling in my heart: "Among all your women, who do you like best?"
