Chapter 130
Scarlett’s POV
I sat motionless in the car.
Alexander chuckled. "You're being unusually coy."
I instinctively looked outside, hesitating not because I was unwilling, but primarily because we were right outside the church, a sense of reverence holding me back.
"Then shall we go back to do it?" he asked half-coaxingly, using that enticing tone he only employed when he wanted something.
I knew my face must be flushed crimson.
He then called Luke over to drive, and the silence in the car became suffocating.
I stole a glance at Alexander's profile.
His jaw was tight, his expression unusually serious.
I rarely saw him like this.
While waiting at a red light, Luke looked at me through the rearview mirror.
"Miss Smith, what winds blew you to Silverpeak City? Don't you know Vernon has been tracking you all along?"
As he spoke, he glanced at Alexander sitting beside me.
I followed his gaze; Alexander had his eyes half-closed, one hand supporting his chin.
But since getting in the car, he had been holding my hand, his fingers intertwined with mine, gripping tightly, as if afraid I would disappear if he let go.
I felt somewhat uncomfortable and tried to withdraw my hand, but Alexander held on even tighter.
"I..." I began, but felt too embarrassed to continue.
Luke narrowed his eyes, his gaze full of questions.
How could I explain my impulsive decision?
Alexander opened his eyes at that moment. "Green light."
Luke could only close his mouth and continue driving.
I secretly sighed with relief, grateful for Alexander's intervention.
After arriving at Alexander's apartment, I followed him upstairs.
The apartment was a duplex, featuring local architectural style, with several mango trees planted at the entrance.
As soon as we entered, Alexander immediately removed the jacket I was wearing and pinned me against the door.
His lips found mine, kissing me passionately.
My knees weakened slightly, and I didn't resist, even actively responding.
We craved each other like fish long deprived of water.
Beneath the intense breathing was my body trembling from nervousness.
Even now, whenever I closed my eyes, I could still see Alexander covered in blood.
I reached to unbutton his shirt, my fingers trembling eagerly.
"So impatient?" Alexander teased, while kissing my lips.
"Did you miss me much when I was gone?"
I didn't respond, having completely surrendered, allowing him to tease and control me in any way.
When I removed his shirt, I immediately noticed the gunshot wound on his shoulder.
Still bandaged, I dared not look too closely, afraid to see the wound beneath.
We were different. When I was injured before, I had to stay in the hospital for a long time.
With his blood coagulation disorder, if he hadn't received immediate treatment, he might have died.
"Do you feel sorry for me?" Alexander asked softly.
My tears fell instantly. I murmured an affirmative sound, emotions seemingly gathering in my chest.
My fingers hovered above his wound, trembling, afraid to touch him.
Alexander grabbed my hand.
"Risking leaving the ship," he said patiently, his eyes searching mine, "weren't you afraid Richard would find out?"
I shook my head firmly.
At this moment, Richard was the least of my concerns.
He continued, his tone serious, "Knowing Vernon's base is in Silverpeak City, you still dared to come. Weren't you afraid of being caught by him?"
I shook my head again. Nothing could have stopped me from finding Alexander once I knew where he was.
Alexander laughed lightly. "Indeed, except for being timid as a mouse in bed, once out of bed you dare to do anything, even kill people!"
Before I could answer, Alexander lifted me up with a swift movement.
I instinctively grabbed his neck, afraid the sudden motion would tear his wound.
"Alexander!" I gasped, his name escaping my lips.
"Hmm?" He carried me toward the bed as if I weighed nothing.
He gently laid me down, then lay beside me, leaning over to kiss me again.
Unlike his former roughness, this time was gentle, even what could be described as "devout."
I felt somewhat surprised by this special treatment.
"You really came looking for me?" he asked, his face shining with joy I rarely saw.
I just looked at him, whimpering as I nodded.
I knew I must look a complete mess right now.
But I didn't care, only wanting to fully have him in this moment.
"Alexander, don't you want to see me?" I said softly, unable to hide the vulnerability in my voice.
"How could I not?"
After speaking, he continued exploring my body with his lips.
From cheeks to neck, then to collarbone...
Every place he had once caressed, as if reclaiming everything lost during their separation. I tightly wrapped around his waist, raising my hips to join with him more deeply, my depths repeatedly touched by him, pleasure building like waves.
As passion intensified, my body trembled severely, even my words becoming incoherent pleas.
Despite his severe injury, it seemed not to affect his performance at all; he was even more fierce than before.
"Mr. Gray... be gentler!" I begged, my rationality completely submerged by intense pleasure.
"Don't you want to be this intimate with me?" he whispered, pulling me to sit up.
I had long since fallen into the abyss, beyond recovery, unable even to hear what he was saying.
Only when he was completely satisfied did he bite my earlobe and slowly say, "Now, tell me, what exactly happened that night..."
