Chapter 35 Never Rough Just Perfect
Isabella gulped nervously, as her eyes clashed with Nikolai's black ones.
Taken aback by their sudden interaction, the spoon slipped from her hands and hit her on the foot.
"Ouch!" She jerked, jumping from her seat.
Nikolai moved before he thought, holding her in place.
"Are you okay?" His voice dropped on her shoulders causing her to shiver.
What the hell?
She wriggled from his grip.
"I'm fine." She moved away from him and sat back in her chair.
Couldn't he just stay away and ignore her?
Did he always have to touch her and make butterflies flutter in her belly?
A playful smile formed on his lips as he receded back on his seat.
His eyes never left her as she squirmed on her seat and cleaned off his touch in her clothes and she didn't take a bite anymore.
"Not eating anymore?"
"I'm full." She grunted, knowing fully well she was far from being full but now Nikolai was looking at her and she couldn't eat in his presence because according to her she was trying to stay mad at him.
He let out a cold sinister laugh and ignored her, directing his gaze back to his phone.
Before he left he told Dmitri to take care of Ivan and Sergi to keep an eye on his brigadiers.
A rat was among them and he was determined to find out.
.
.
Isabella was fast asleep when the plane landed.
She woke up to a tap on her shoulder by the hostess.
She moved her eyes and noticed Nikolai staring at her with his jaw under his fist.
"Still feeling sleepy?" Came the question from him that made her hyper aware of the wet liquid that was drying on her lips.
She turned away from him in an instant, wiping the drool at the corner of her lips as she cussed herself inwardly.
How could she drool and let Nikolai notice?
She didn't wait for him and rushed out of the plane.
A yelp left her lips when her ankles twisted as she climbed down the plane stairs.
Her hands hit out to hold the handrail but it was too late and she was certain her bottom was going to meet the cold aluminum stairs. But then—
She felt strong arms wrap around her waist, holding her in place just before the collision,
"Are you always this clumsy, Isa?" Nikolai's voice rumbled low against her ear, and laced with that new teasing amusement tone that had started to make her stomach flutter at very interaction.
She shrugged her shoulders, moving away from him because she couldn't withstand the sudden heat of his body pressed against her back.
"I—I'm not clumsy!" She shot back! "You should have check for plane maintenance before flying it in the air!" She stuttered and hurried to the end of the stairs.
The cold breeze breeze from the plane's fan made her skin tingle. Her eyes fixated on three black SuV's in front of her.
Men in black suits and earpieces stood like the bodyguards they were as they wore that strong stern expression on their face.
Isabella shivered slightly, a familiar sensation reaching down her bones as she recalled just how Nikolai had captured her.
She turned to give him a witty remark when the door of one SUV opened and a man alighted holding his hands out for a woman to alight.
When hee yes captured the lady that just stepped out, her eyes grew wide in away.
'Beautiful.' she muttered to her breath.
The hairs on her neck stood as she felt Nikolai's warm breath when he leaned in and whispered hot in her ears.
"Try not to get yourself into trouble… I’d hate to have to punish you."
He walked past her before she could retort back and brought a hand from the pocket of his black trousers.
"Nikolai!" The man exclaimed as he shook hands with Nikolai, exchanging pleasantries.
"Good to see you, Aleksandr." Nikola chuckled with his cold demeanor lingering in the air.
"I didn't have enough time to prepare properly. It was quite an impromptu request." Aleksandr said.
"No offence taken."
"Good," Aleksandr said, ghosting his eyes over Isabella, "And who might this be?" He eyed Nikolai suspiciously.
"Company." He replied cavalierly.
She ignored him, flicking her gaze over to the woman who was held by the waist by Aleksandr.
Isabella cheeks flushed as she looked at the woman from her head to her toes. Black hair neatly styled into a tight bun. A tailored black ladies' suit paired with golden YSL heels. The woman's face was fairer than snow with red coloured lips.
Isabella didn't realize she had been gaping at the woman for a long time with her mouth open before she felt Nikolai's warm fingers on her jaw as he closed her mouth.
"Quit drooling." He murmured, voice low and wickedly amused against her ear.
Isabella snapped out of her daze, slapping Nikolai's hand from her jaw, "Don't touch me." She stared at him with fire in her eyes unable to hide the pink hue spreading across her cheeks.
She heard the lady laugh...
She turned towards her and her eyes narrowed thinking the woman had seen her like a laughing stock.
She hoped that wasn't the case because the lady looked like a beautiful angel right now in her eyes.
"You're one funny lady. I'm Anya and you're..."
"Isabella."
"Nice to meet you, Isabella."
"You too." Isabella gave her a weak smile trying to control her butterflies stirring in her stomach as she couldn't take her eyes off Anya.
"Let's finish this conversation at home." Aleksandr offered.
And they all hummed in union except Isabella who had no idea what was happening.
Nikolai intertwined his hands with hers and she threw a question glance at him and he just smiled at her.
"We'll ride together,'' he said, noticing the frown on her face he added, "Don't tell me you're planning to ride with another man?"
Isabella wasn't even thinking of that but now he had said it, something mischievous stared in her.
"Actually, yes. I want to ride with him." She pointed towards a bodyguard.
Isabella felt Nikolai's fingers grip her tighter, "If that's what you want then he shall accompany you...with his head in a box in your laps. That seems like a perfect ride, right?" He replied with a stern expression.
Her stomach tightened at his words but she straightened her back,
"I… I don’t need him dead, Niko," she said, forcing a laugh. "I’ll ride with you. Don’t get any ideas."
Aleksandr shook his head slightly with a smile ghosting over his lips and Anya let her laughter roll out of her mouth.
"You've got a rough piece to handle, Nikolai."
"Nah, never rough just perfect."
Isabella's heart fluttered as she heard him and the butterflies increase when he led her towards the middle car with his hands ghosting over the small of her back like he had every right to touch her as he guided her into the car.
Nikolai settled beside her his thighs brushing hers as he manspread.
"Can't you keep your legs together, you're literally taking the whole space. I'm not comfortable." She complained.
And the next thing she knew, he placed his hands on her waist and placed her astride on his laps.
Isabella lost the ability to speak when he began drawing weird circles on her thighs. Heat flooding her lower belly.
Nikolai leaned in close, his nose brushing the crook of her neck as his hands were pushing forward to her forbidden area.
"Is this comfortable?"
