Chapter 10 I'm sorry, Daisy
"Get the fuck out, you foolish child!" Richard, hissed, his belt landing across Isabella's back hard and heavy.
'Ouch,' A painful wince left her lips. Her arms wrapped around her sister in a tight embrace.
You're never going to learn are you? This child here is the cause of everything. Why the hell are you shielding her? Get the hell away from her let me kill this mistake of a daughter once and for all!" His voice landed heavy and slurly as he used his muscles and energy to hit Isabella's back.
She weeped, the belt felt like molten fire on her skin but she wasn't going to let go.
The belt hit her back in a painful move. The shaft iron edge, piercing through her skin.
Isabella bit her lips and hugged Daisy tighter, her hands covered her ear.
''No need to hear all these, Daisy. He's just a bad man, you didn't do anything wrong okay?'' she whispered in her ears, her voice shaky and lips trembling.
The four year old, Daisy, was crying and weeping profusely.
''I'm sorry, sister. Daddy wants to hit me, don't stop him, please. You are only hurting yourself in return."
"Nonsense, Daisy," she laughed out, her pain," "I can't even feel the pain. I promise I'm fine. Everything will be alright soon, okay?" She hugged her sister tighter.
The belt kept piercing through her skin, her blood staining her dress but she stiffened her cries. She didn't want her sister to be worried about her.
"Oh! You think you can withstand my belt, right?" Richard grunted. "Now, let me see how you can withstand two at a time."
Before, Isabella knew it, she felt her back being cut at the same time twice, the pointed pin of the belt, dragging across her skin repeatedly.
'mmm...mmm...mmm,' she let out soft whimpers, trying her best not to sound hurt.
But Daisy could see just how hard, her sister was struggling.
Before, Isabella could understand her father's next step, he had dragged her away, her elbow scraped on the floor as his hands clutched around Daisy's wrist tightly.
Isabella's eyes landed on her father easing the belt to hit Daisy.
"Daisy, No!!!!" She screamed.
Isabella jerked awake from the bed, her heart pounding, fear gnawing at her stomach as beads of sweat formed at her temple and nose.
"Daisy?" She muttered.
She didn't even water time to understand where and how she was free from the cell. Her mind had immediately travelled towards her sister.
"She crossed her legs from the bed, letting her feet meet the cold floor.
She felt dizzy instantly but she held the headboard, steading herself before walking out of the room with glossy eyes.
She pulled open the doors, her eyes clashing with black ones that belonged to an older lady.
She was holding a tray of food and water.
Isabella's stomach grumbled but she ignored it. Crashing her shoulders with the older woman just to freeze when her eyes caught her words.
"Are you going to look for your sister?" The woman asked.
'sister? That means, that wicked man had truly captured Daisy?' her breath caught in her throat.
She turned and walked back to the woman, "How do you know?" She asked, quickly taking the woman's hand in hers,
"Please... Please... Tell me where she is. How is she doing? Is she okay? Can you take me to her please? I-I just want to see her," her voice turned shaky as her finger tightened on the woman.
Elizaveta stared at the woman with teary eyes,
"She was sick but-"
Isabella didn't let the woman finish, "s-sick? Did you just say she's s-sick?" Her mind went frantic.
Had Nikolai punished and hurt her? How did she get sick and why was she in Nikolai's grasp?
Oh heavens!
"Can you calm down. She's okay, right now. You can meet her after you're done resting."
"I'm down resting, can I see her now? Take me to her, please..."
"You can. But she has been crying thinking something's wrong with you. Eat first and drink some water, you look weak. You wouldn't want her to get worried, do you?" Elizaveta blackmailed her emotionally.
And that she was not too sorry for because she couldn't let Isabella walk around looking like a frantic walking corpse. It was even surprising how she had woken up in less than 24 hours after she had literally peeled the first layers of her skin off.
Isabella swallowed. The woman was right? But she looked skeptical at the tray in her hands.
she wasn't sure about that... Maybe she was trying to poison her?
As if, noticing her worries, Elizaveta shook her head and walked into the room, placing the tray on the bed.
She took a spoonful of porridge into her mouth,
"See. There is nothing wrong with it."
Isabella walked in, and took the bowl of porridge and drank it all followed by the water.
Her tongue burnt but she ignored the hot burning sensation.
"Now, can we go?"
Elizaveta took her to the separate room her sister was in.
As soon as Isabella walked in and her eyes landed on her sister, sitting idly on the bed.
She didn't think. She just ran, "Daisy!!!!!" She screamed, her arms spread apart as she landed softly on her sister.
She inhaled her sister's scent, ruffled her hair and stroked her back for a good five minutes before leaning back and examined her sister.
"Oh my God, Daisy, you have lost so much weight!" Isabella exclaimed as she turned her sister sideways. Her hands cupped her cheeks.
Tears stung at the corner of Daisy's eyes, "Sister Bella," she whimpered slowly and shakyly as if she was afraid to tell her sister something.
"I'm sorry, Sister, Bella." The tears left her eyes in heavy flows.
"It's okay, Daisy. Why are you apologizing when you've done nothing? I should be the one to apologize, I'm sorry I couldn't protect you well. I'm sorry that I let you get caught, I-" her voice trembled, "I'm sorry I put your life at risk, I'm sorry I couldn't protect you from father, I'm sorry that I let this man capture you, I'm sorry I couldn't take you on picnic, I'm sorry for everything Daisy. I'm sorry. I should be your big sister but here I am unable to protect you. I'm sorry Daisy, forgive me please..."
Isabella trembled, her vision turned blurry as her eyes were filled with tears that didn't hesitate to fall.
"No, sister. It's not your fault! I failed to listen to you. I should have listened but I didn't. I'm sorry big sister. You told me to run to Serah's but I didn't, I-"
Isabella's brain lagged for a bit before she finally understood why she was apologizing.
"It's not your fault, Daisy bu
t tell me what happened? Why did this bad man capture you?"
