Chapter 62 062

Chapter 62 062
Alexander's POV

“Surely, you are not actually doing that, Alexander!” Blake yelled and I stopped walking to face him with an unmistakable stern glare.

“I am. And you're not stopping me, Blake. Let's just get this over with” I told him without blinking but he just doesn't know when to stop.

“I can stop you, Blake. And I will. Trust me” he yelled again and I grabbed his collar, blindly slamming him to the wall nearby with my eyes glowing dangerously.

“You know what happens when anyone defies me, Blake. And you're not an exemption. Surely, you should know that by now…”

“You don't know what you're getting yourself into, Alexander. You're an Alpha for heaven's sake. You should be protecting your people and making them happy and proud. Not this… not you putting yourself in danger” his voice cracked with concern and my grip automatically loosened on his collar.

“And that is exactly what I'm doing, Blake. Making my people happy and proud. That is what I'm doing right now and I don't care if you don't feel the same way. I'm doing it anyway." I said in finality.

“She hasn't even acknowledged you as her mate, Alexander.” He added and that did it. I froze.

“She's probably never going to acknowledge you as her mate. She is ashamed to have you as her mate!” He added in a yell, and that drove my wolf mad.

“You know that isn't true” I threw back hotly but he laughed.

“Convince me then. Convince me that it isn't the case. And not by doing this. Not by sacrificing yourself for a snowfall that isn't even ripe to show up yet!” He said stubbornly but I was done.

I was done talking to him.

So I simply walked away.

Once in my room, I locked the door behind me and shed my royal coat, followed by my shirt. I made sure my upper body was bare before sinking to the ground, on my two knees.

I've only ever summoned the Moon goddess once since decades of ruling Dark Orchids. And that day, I summoned her to actually blame her. I blamed her for my mother's death and the bitch did nothing but listen to the tears and yells of a heartbroken Alpha. And when I was done, she simply called me weak. And that I had to work on myself because there's no way I'm going to rule a Pack this big with an attitude of a crybaby.

God, I hated her so much.

But here I am, summoning her again and it couldn't be harder. I didn't have a problem doing it the first time, but right now, it seemed like my bones were getting ripped apart.

The pain made it hard to focus my energy into bringing her here with the same chant I'd vowed not to use even if I'd die.

When the chant ended, my eyes remained tightly shut, but I still had my distinct hearing and the prickling sensations I've always had when any other presence was near and I could tell she wasn't here yet.

The room remained awkwardly, and annoyingly void of her presence and I knew what that meant.

It means I had to do the energy draining chant all over again. And if I'm lucky, she'd show up before I had to use my last credit… or not.

I hadn't even begun to recite the chant again when the strange yet familiar chilliness filled the room.

Good.

She is here.

I allowed her full presence before prying my eyes open to meet her nearly blinding gaze.

She was silvery white from the crown of her head to the fucking sole of her feet. I was so certain even though I've never seen the soles of her feet, or even her feet altogether. Except the celestial, blinding, silvery white gown that always screamed heavenly, her hands with silver streaks, her hair that was all silvery glow, and her face that was ridiculously beautiful, nothing more was in sight.

In one word, she was Ethereal. And she reminded me of Danica.

“You called for me, Alpha” she spoke, her voice screaming otherworldly, just like her entire appearance.

“I did. And I'll go straight to the point” I responded calmly.

Do I feel comfortable around her? No!

But do I feel intimidated? No, I don't.

Not even the least bit.

“Go on”

“I called you here to make a deal” I started and her face just remained calm, blank. She wasn't surprised. I mean, of course she already knew why I brought her here but she'll make me say it anyway.

“You shift the snowfall that's meant to happen in less than ten years and make it happen before nightfalls. And I'll give you whatever you want” I said calmly and the silence that followed was something else entirely. It made my skin crawl.

“A blood pact. An exchange. You do know how dangerous that might turn out to be, don't you?” She asked and I nodded once.

“I'm very much aware”

“You might not survive it… Especially with your current situation with your energy and your mate” she explained as if it could actually change my mind.

She probably already knew it wouldn't but she still said it anyway.

“May I ask why you'd want to do that? A blood exchange for snow for a mate that probably wouldn't acknowledge the bond you have?” She asked, and honestly? I had no answer to that question.

I just… can't help myself. I got addicted to putting those adorable smiles on her face and she badly wanted to see the snow. It was a heartfelt wish and I could taste how much she wanted it the moment she said the words.

"I just want to make her happy. It doesn't matter if she doesn't acknowledge the bond, so just do this for me” I muttered and she took slow strides around me. Like a mother trying to scare her child for doing something bad.
