Chapter 109 109

Chapter 109 109
Alexander's POV

I couldn't concentrate on anything ever since my argument with Danica, and it was so obvious. Questions and doubts popped in. “Is everything okay, Alpha?”

“We're in the middle of an important meeting, Alpha. We need your absolute concentration”

“Nothing is more important than bringing order to the Pack”

I almost scoffed out loud at the statement. If only they knew I wouldn't hesitate to wipe them off the face of the earth, if it will be the only way to protect her.

“If only you'd stop bickering, then maybe we would get a few more things done rather than moving around circles.” I muttered in an eerily calm voice.

The hall was immediately silenced and then Blake got up to give his report.

“Based on the ongoing investigation about Lady Ruslan's death, we've officially confirmed that Gamma Princess Anabel gave out those absurd orders. And she is thereby marked as the direct culprit of the death that happened a few days ago.” Blake read from the Royal scroll and literally the entire hall turned towards Thorne.

A smirk curled up at the corner of my lips.

Of course, his perfectly smooth and proud demeanor has been stained by his dear sister. I couldn't help but wonder how he will try to escape the ridicule this time.

Will he protect his only sister? Or will he deny her as his family the moment she faces crucifixion?

I was curious about that.

But even more anxious about my argument with Danica.

Where is she right now? What is she doing? Did she have herself locked up in anger? Or even worse, find someone else to give her a massage?

Those questions did unhealthy things to my sanity. The thought of someone else's hand on my mate made me want to go bonkers.

But first things first. I need to go through with these investigation results and following punishment first. And it wasn't me reading out the damn scroll because if it were up to me, none of this would be done by the book. I would end the McWarren clan and every living Grayson clan aside from Danica just to get the justice my godmother deserved.

“There hasn't been direct evidence except mere words of the mouth that Joey Grayson was an accomplice, but since she was linked somehow, she still gets a taste of the punishment. A hand written letter to the Alpha for approval. While Anabel gets twenty horse whips and a complete shave of her hair. Each strand, kept to worship the lost soul of Lady Ruslan." Blake said and except the frown on Thorn's face that deepened, the hall remained dead silent till he was done reading from the scroll.

Then all hell broke loose.

"To be honest, Gamma Thorn, I never had any big expectations from you, but this is just over the line. You could have at least taught your sister basic manners, how did she become a murderer right under your nose?" I asked, but he couldn't even defend himself.

He just sat there, head down, fists tightening without a single word.

Good. I've always wanted to see the defeated side of the petty bastard.

Just then my eyes fell on Blake. He looked distracted, and I knew I wasn't wrong when he walked towards the entrance.

I only saw the movement of his eyes for a beat or two before he started walking back in my direction.

"What's up?" I asked the moment he got to me.

"Martha is right out. And she won't leave until she has your attention." He muttered and a migraine attacked me out of nowhere. "Says her. Not me" he quickly added and I got up immediately.

"This meeting is over. The execution will happen in twenty four hours. If anyone dares to miss the execution, you can consider yourself reduced to nothing less than an aimless rogue." I announced and everyone chorused "Yes Alpha"

True to Blake's word, Martha was still standing there, crossed armed, fuming and waiting to explode within seconds.

"How do you train your guards, Alexander? To be rude and arrogant mother fuckers? Really Alexander?" She blurted the moment I stepped out of the hall.

"Well, I assume you must have a good reason to come here and blurt out utter nonsense right to my face, Martha. But do you think screaming like a god damn animal in front of my meeting hall will get you a better chance of getting a listening ear from me?" I asked and she immediately sealed her lips shut. As she should.

Without sparing her another glance, I walked away while Blake probably left to take care of something else.

Either way, walking away left her no choice but to follow as fast as she could, if she truly wanted to talk to me.

"We're far enough now, Alexander. Killian deserves a huge punishment. I want him gone!" She yelled and that got me. I stopped walking to face her, my lips contoured into a smirk.

I mean, Killian has been getting on my nerves for hours even without lifting a finger, but who the hell does anyone think they are to say they want my most trusted bodyguard gone?

"Martha? You don't stand a chance to make decisions like that" I told her plainly and I saw her haughty look melt almost in an instant.

"I... What I mean is. Just hear me out! I'm sure you'll think the same way..." She tried to defend herself but I wasn't having it.

"No. I won't. Killian has worked for me even long before we crossed paths, Martha. Don't push your luck" I added and she gasped like it was news to her.

"Killian disrespected me, Alexander. You told me to go out with him as my escort but he ignored me!" She yelled and I frowned.

"He did what?" I asked to be sure I heard right because Killian, the same Killian I know has never once disobeyed an order that comes from me. And neither has he ever disobeyed Martha despite his bad blood with her personality.

"He disobeyed an order to escort me out, Alexander. The moment he saw that skinny doctor bitch you're screwing, he was willing to ignore me no matter what the repercussions are." Martha yelled and my eyes narrowed at her, as I wondered if I'd just heard right.

"Danica. Doctor Danica." I corrected with a growl that made her jolt in fright.

"Does that even matter now? Those two keep playing love without your consent. She's just a slutty bitch!" Martha insisted and I slammed my fist into the wall right beside her head.

She literally stopped breathing, shaking out of her own skin and I assumed that she understood what that outburst was. But it was obvious she didn't because she kept asking when I'd give Killian a call to return to the pack house at once.

I wouldn't call him back just to adhere to her useless claims. That would ruin whatever Danica planned to do out there.

‘Well, I guess you wouldn't want to ruin a good massage session between them too’ a voice whispered in my head but I shook my head, trying to stop the voices.

“Alexander…”

“Enough!!!” I interrupted her with a loud yell. She blinked, jolting backwards so hard that I thought she would fall.

My phone chose that moment to beep.

I opened the new message that just popped in and the anger that slitted through my veins was unmatched.

A photo of Danica. Half drunk in a piece of fabric that's literally not clothes but Sin in full shades and Killian's hand on her shoulder, with his face barely visible in the photo.

I could tell it was him because of the scorpion tattoo on the back of his hand. And that shouldn't mean anything but I still couldn't help but feel so mad that I could kill.

I got their exact location and arrived there within ten minutes. A whooping ungodly ten clockwise rotation of the clock.

The sight of a red dressed half drunk female getting caught by Killian before she falls face first into the ground made my mate's instinct go wild.

I yanked her off his arms, despite her drunken protests and then right there, in front of everyone, I kissed her. Hard.

Call it marking it my territory. Call it showing Killian who she really belongs to. Call it anything. But that was just the least I could do to stop myself from going crazy.

When I broke the kiss, Danica was barely responsive, but she was still awake. Probably shocked as shit. Whatever made her defenses weaken was for the best anyway. So I pulled her out. And I kept going until we got outside, towards my car.
