Pursuing

Helena:

Since Larissa's part of the studio was now Matew's,I was in charge of the designers and talking to clients,so I did all that from home and my secretary sorted out the face-to-face stuff for me.

"Mommy,my doll broke!!!!".

Margô arrives crying and doing her morning dramas.

"Hi my love, how did it break?

"She wanted to fly, so I helped her, and let her fly out of my bedroom window."

"Margot!" - I scold her.

"I'm sorry mommy, I just wanted to help..." - She says softly.

"Dolls don't fly my love, you'll break them.

"Okay, Mom."

"Very well.

I kiss her forehead and try to fix the doll.

"What are these drawings mommy?".

She asks looking at the laptop on the table,I was doing some designer to show clients,I was trying to bring more innovation to my designs,I have been working hard to understand and learn more,I knew very little and everything I knew,it was Larissa who taught me....

"These are for my work love."

I smile and run my hand through her hair.

"I have colored pencils mommy,I can lend them to you,I think your teacher will like them better colored."

She smiles beautifully,she had a few missing teeth,but she was still the most beautiful girl in the world.

"Thank you my darling,but they should be like this,after a while I can color them,but at the moment he needs to stay that way."

"Got it mommy."

"Here my love,your doll."

I hold out the toy to her,who holds it lovingly and smiles broadly after analyzing it and seeing that I was able to solve the problem.

She kisses my cheek and then heads upstairs,then I continue on with my work.

Days later we went shopping,Margô would have a presentation at school and needed a new outfit,as I said she is demanding and loves to buy new clothes,believe me,in her closet there is almost no space and there are clothes that she has never worn.

"Can I wear red mommy?"

"I think so, but wouldn't pink be better?"

"I always wear pink..." - She grimaces making the driver and I laugh at the same.

"Fine daughter, you will wear red, although I think a pink, lilac, light blue is prettier, but the choice is yours."

"Thank you!" - She says happily and hugs me.

"You are welcome my love."

We went to the mall and went to all the stores,the little girl who looked and chose her own clothes,in the end,we had a snack and we were already full of bags,she loved to shop,of course this custom was put on her by Matew,and even though I didn't like it,I was happy to see her so happy and her father didn't care to spend money on the luxuries of a spoiled child (because Margô was very spoiled by him).

"I could have sworn we were going to buy just one red outfit." - I speak out loud.

"Here you have such beautiful things mommy!".

"I can tell by your animation,the only thing missing was wanting to buy the stores." - I laugh.

"Can we buy?!!!"

She asks with wide eyes,then I smile lightly,I was so in love with this baby of mine,she was so smart,dedicated,smart,she was too amazing for her age.

"We can,but we don't want to,right?"

"Why not?"

"Because we wouldn't know how to run all the clothing stores here,plus we're too busy."

"I see."

We ate and then went to the car,but the little one stops on the way and stares at the window.

"Mommy!"

"Hello?"

"Can I buy?" - He says pointing to a stuffed unicorn.

"Don't you think we've already bought too much?"

"Just this one, please."

Then she makes her usual face,the same one that would get anything,so I sigh,not being firm with her was a bad thing for the future,but I couldn't stand the joy of seeing her happy with something.

"All right. Matias,can you take the bags to the car,please?"

"Don't you want me to wait ma'am?"

"It will be faster,as soon as we buy we will rush there and if we delay,you can come after us."

"All right, if there's anything, don't hesitate to call me."

"Okay."

I smile and he leaves with the bags,then we go into the store,she chose and we went to pay,then I leave with her happy and holding her stuffed animal. We were walking,until they hold my arm tightly,which made me stop.

"Margot?!"

I yelled for her to stop too,when she stops and looks at me,I look at the person who was holding me and at the same time I startle.

"Hi honey,how are you?" - I smile.

"Let me go,or I'll scream!". - I say seriously.

"So that beautiful girl, is she my daughter?"

"She's mine and Matew's!" - I pull my arm out of his hand.

"Until you and my father's old man are lasting too long together,I should have run away from him with millions by now."

"I'm not with him for money,you know that."

"Of course you are,you're too young for an old man like him,who has nothing to offer you but money."

"He has character,truth,love,compassion,caring,loyalty,he could be poor and I wouldn't care,because more important than money,are all the qualities he possesses."

"Foolish...if you were smarter,you could take everything from him and then we could be together."

"And then? You would cheat on me with how many more? 10?."

"I love you Helena,even if your little mind disagrees with that,I would give anything to have you back."

"Liar...you deceived me in the lowest way,I just wanted it to be real!".

"It's your fault, you were supposed to pretend you didn't know me or not show up that damn day and place. But you're too dumb, you ruined everything we had, an amazing future."

"You disgust me,I abhor you,you are a horrible,greedy being,I want you to stay away from me and my family!".

"You just forgot one little thing Helena,I want to stay close to the girl,she is my daughter,I have rights as a father to be present in her life." - He says seriously facing me.

I look at Margô,she was playing with her unicorn and not paying attention to us.

"She's not your daughter, she's the daughter of a man named Hugo, but he disappeared, passing the paternity to another who dreamed of being a father again. So stay away from my daughter,or I will put you in jail for stalking."

I leave him alone there,I'm holding the girl's hand and I feel my heart racing,I didn't think that Victor would dare to approach me again,I swore that he would finally keep his distance,so I asked Matew not to make me walk full of security guards,but apparently I was wrong,Victor had no scruples and didn't know how to take no for an answer,so he would approach and try whatever it was to get what he wanted.

But I would never let him get close to Margot again, because I would kill him to defend and protect my daughter.
