Epilogue

“SO, I HEARD you guys are engaged,” Kelly said giddily. “Congratulations! I always knew you’d get back together.” She took Chaya’s hands. Her forehead knotted, and she stared at Kyrie with confusion. “Where’s the ring, though?”

They were in the dining room.

“Thank you, Kelly. The ring’s not actually necessary,” Chaya said with a smile.

“Why give her a ring when he can give her a pair of shoes?” Kyros interrupted from behind. “Hi, Chaya.” He was holding a shoe box. “I can’t believe you’re going to be my sister-in-law.”

“What do you mean by that?” Kyrie asked with dislike.

“Nothing. There you go.” Kyros pushed the box into Kyrie’s hands.

“Let’s put these on you,” Kyrie told Chaya.

Chaya blinked in surprise. “Really?”

Kyrie made her sit on the chair. Then he knelt in front of her. Chaya was biting her lip in excitement. When he had finally unboxed the shoes, her eyes widened. It was a stylish pair of slip-on shoes.

“Where have I seen that before?” she wondered.

“On that sketchpad from the night we first met.”

“N-now, it’s an actual pair of shoes!”

“Oh, yes. And we’re going to call this Chaya Slip-on.”

Chaya stared and felt her cheeks burn. “W-why would you name that after me?”

“Because you’re my muse.”

She was left speechless.

“Yikes,” Kyros remarked.

“Oh, shut up, Kyros. You’re just jealous,” Kelly retorted and giggled.

Kyrie removed her shoes and put on the new pair himself. Then, Chaya wiggled her feet.

“It’s light and comfy. I love it!” She put her feet on the floor. “Hang on.” She felt a cold metallic bump from the right pair. “Something’s…” She took off the other pair and pulled something out.

It was sparkling. Kelly gasped.

“OMG!”

It was a ring.

Chaya stared at Kyrie.

“There it is,” he said with a naughty grin, taking the ring from her. He caught his hand and put the band around her finger. “Beautiful.”

She began to cry. Kyrie pulled her up and locked her in a tight embrace.

“I love you,” he whispered.

Chaya tiptoed, and their lips met.

“Oh, what’s going on in here?” It was Abby.

Chaya proudly showed the ring around her finger.

“Oh, my gosh!” Abby brought a hand in her mouth and slapped Kristoff’s arm. “Congratulations, kids!”

“It’s official. Welcome to the family, Chaya,” Kristoff said with a broad smile.

Abby and Kristoff hugged her.

“We’re so happy for you, kids.”

“Thanks, Mom, Dad.”

“Thank you, Mr. Page,” she said through teary eyes.

Kiel ran to Kyrie, and he picked him up into his arms.

“Hey, Kiel, congratulations. You got another mother,” Kyros said.

“I know. I can’t wait to be a big brother soon!” Kiel said happily.

They all laughed.

The End.
