Epilogue- 2 years later
Hope

I stared at Lincoln, looking ridiculously handsome in his tuxedo and my heart lurched. Not with fear or nerves but because we had done it.

We had saved the world, I wasn’t even sure how but we had done it.

Of course we hadn’t known we had done it until yesterday. Sure we had tried to get on with our lives , we made plans and got engaged but we hadn’t known until yesterday whether the bombs would fall.

They hadn’t. We had all stayed together in my parents living room. Holding hands and just loving on each other in preparation but there was no blinding white light.

The world didn’t end.

Justin had finally done something good , he had proved that he had loved me and his sacrifice had saved us all. He might have done so terrible things in the past but in the end he had been a good guy and I would never forget him.

“Papa.” Letting go of my hand , Faith yelled and took off down the aisle towards Lincoln. Her little pink dress rustling around her ankles.

He grinned, bending down so she could rush into his arms. He swooped her up in a giggling circle and straightened to watch me walk down the aisle.

“There’s my beautiful girls.” His voice carried and I smiled at him. “Doesn’t your mummy look like a queen.”

Twisting in his arms Faith grinned. “Princess.” She pointed and Lincoln nodded in agreement. “That’s right mummy is a princess and so are you.” He kissed her nose as I came to a stop next to him.

“Hi.”

“You look perfect.” He smiled at me and bending down kissed my lips. A gasp went up from our family and friends and the priest in front of us fidgeted nervously as he cleared his throat.

“Sorry.” Lincoln winked. “Was I meant to wait until you told me I could kiss her.”

Laughter bubbled around us. Even the priest laughed.

“Ready to get married?” He asked us and I nodded. I had never been more ready for anything in my life. It wasn’t that this time was perfect, or even that Lincoln was but it was the imperfections that made me love him so much.

The dominance, the wolfy tendencies that still lingered when he took me were all still there but in this time and space Lincoln was just a man. All the genetic changes Justin had changed the world with had disappeared when he had died.

Lincoln was just a normal man now, and that suited me fine because I wanted nothing more than to be a normal woman living a boring mundane life.

I wasn’t special, or an omega because that time was gone and it would never happen now.

We could just be a family without worry.

“I’ve never been more ready in my life. She’s my mate. It’s about time she was my wife as well.”

The priest frowned and I blushed. “He just means I’m his true love.” I explained quickly. Lincoln might have settled into this life smoothly but sometimes he still forgot,

The priest nodded, and then he was talking. I barely heard anything he said because I couldn’t stop looking away from Lincoln and the way he kept glancing between me and Faith like he didn’t believe we were really his.

But we were his, now and forever and the priest made it official when he pronounced us man and wife and a cheer went up from the crowd.

“So what now?” Lincoln asked in a whisper, “do we just go-“

“We go to the reception and celebrate.” My mother appeared and took Faith from his arms. Her eyes twinkled. “Come on sweetheart. You can come in the car with nanny and grandad. Your daddy needs to talk to mummy quickly.”

Frowning I watched them go, and we followed slowly behind them. Sliding into the back seat of our waiting wedding car. It was only then that I turned to Lincoln in shock.

“You wanted to talk to me in private?” I asked.

“Yes.” He didn’t turn to me. And when I stared at him I could see how strained his face was. My heart sank. What could he be thinking that put that look on his face on our wedding day?

“Lincoln.” My voice shook as I reached for his hand. “Just tell me because your are beginning to scare me.”

He turned into me, his huge body pressing me into the buttery leather of the car seat. His lips were firm as he parted mine.

Lincoln’s tongue delved into my mouth to dance against mine. I melted , moaning softly into his cinnamon scented mouth. My breasts ached for his hands to cup them and moisture pooled between my thighs.

Above me, his nostrils flared like he could smell my sudden slick. I knew he couldn’t anymore but it looked like he could. He growled against my lips and my core clenched with need.

If we hadn’t been in the back of the car, with the driver just ahead of us I would have climbed over him like a tree and rode him until his eyes rolled back into the back of his head.

“I want you.” I murmured into his mouth. And I felt his lips curve up into a smile.

“I can tell and I want you as well, I’ll always want you. Didn’t I tell you once that I would never let you go,” he chuckled. “And now I don’t have to. You are my wife Hope. And you and Faith are my life but I know this wasn’t your dream.”

I tore my mouth away from his and studied his face. “Of course it’s my dream. I love our life together,” my voice dropped to a whisper so the driver couldn’t hear. “The world isn’t ending Lincoln, it didn’t disappear yesterday in a blaze of white light and I get to spend all of my life with you. I love our family, that is my dream-“

“But before you were shifted in time, you had another dream didn’t you? Your parents told me all about it.”

At my side my fist clenched. I knew my parents loved Lincoln and they were happy for me but they didn’t have any right to tell him that. It was my past.

“My dreams changed. I don’t want that anymore-“

His lips on mine cut me off again. He kissed me lazily.

Like we had all the time in the world to fall into each other and now we did.

“That’s a shame.” His lips curled up against mine.

I pulled away slightly. “What do you mean?” My eyes raked over his face.

“I’ve been planning with your parents for almost a year. We all agreed that if the world didn’t end you deserved to live out your dream. And I’ll be honest I want to see the world as well. All of it, not the ruins I’m used to. So-“

My eyes widened as he took out a envelope from his breath pocket. “In here is the start of our adventures. Our honeymoon. We leave in two days time. And from there we have flights to Rome.”

My eyes darted from his face to the envelope and back again. “What is it?”

“It’s our tickets, mine , yours and Faiths. Open tickets to all the places you have always wanted to visit. We start in Paris. Your mum said it’s one of your favourite places.”

“It is.” I whispered and tears stung my eyes.

“Then it's final then. For the next few years we will travel as a family. I know it's not exactly your dream but we can see the world and you can paint to your hearts content.”

“No it’s not my dream-“

His face fell.

In an instant I was back in his arms and kissing him wildly. Half climbing over his lap in my need to get closer to him than ever before.

“It’s so much better than my dream, Lincoln. Travelling with you and our daughter is more than I can ever imagine. It’s everything. You are everything,” I brushed my mouth against his. “I am so lucky I found you.”

His eyes crinkled. “Was it worth travelling to the future and all the suffering you went through?”

I nodded. “Yes. I wouldn’t change any of it. I needed to go through my time as an omega to -“

“Enough of thinking about the Omegas time.” His lips parted mine again. “That time is over, this is our time Hope.”

My heart felt like it was going to burst with happiness. I didn’t think I could ever feel this happy. And he was right, my time in the future as an omega was over.

In fact it would never happen now.

“Our time.” I nodded my head in agreement. “Nothing bad can tear us apart now. I love you,”

“And I love you, through all the times. Past, present and future, I’ll always love you.”
