I thought about what I did. My conscience was hurting me. It was bad of me to let Scar see this. She was, after all, not just another person, but someone who had once been essential to my life.
Scar was the woman I had loved, the woman I had once cared for with an intensity that now seemed distant and complex.
And if I said I felt nothing for her, then I would be lying to myself. I knew what I needed to do. An apology was necessary, but so was clarity.
I would tell her the truth: our marriage was impossible, though I might offer her a different arrangement. A mistress, the word felt cold, transactional, but it was a path forward.
I dressed quickly, my movements driven by a mixture of guilt and courage. Approaching her room, I opened the door with a gentleness that contradicted the turmoil inside me.
I had expected to find her in tears, broken by what she saw. Instead, silence greeted me, a silence more devastating than any sob.
She was gone.
Panic and suspicion overwhelmed me. Where could she be? My mind raced to Alex. Was she with him? The thought of her possible betrayal shook me to the core.
My hands balled into fists, nails digging into my palms, the pain a welcome distraction from the anger boiling within me.
If my suspicions proved true, if I caught her in the act of betrayal, I wouldn't hesitate to rip her head off.
Violent thoughts surged through my mind like a dangerous flame.
I wanted to leave, to search for her, but something stopped me from leaving. A need to understand, to witness her reaction, to catch her in her moment of truth.
I settled onto her bed, a predator waiting in silence. Each passing minute stretched like an eternity.
My patience grew thin. And then, her scent. Familiar. Intoxicating. Dangerous.
I straightened myself, forcing a mask of calm over my roiling emotions. Ready. Waiting.
The door swung open, and Scar stepped inside. In an instant, her complexion changed, becoming bloodless, as if she were confronted by a demon.
Her reaction confirmed my worst suspicions. She had been out there, betraying me within my own pack, with another man.
How dare she do that to me?
"Where have you been?" The words erupted from me, a demand laced with venom. Scar avoided my gaze, causing a sharp pain in my chest.
This wasn't the woman I knew, the Scar who once lived to please me, who would bend herself to my will despite my cruelty.
Something had changed.
But no. She loved me. She loved me more than herself, more than anything in this world. My wolf stirred within me, a growling confidence.
"Somewhere," she muttered, her voice a whisper.
I wouldn't accept such an evasion. My Alpha tone emerged, a growl that could make the strongest pack member tremble. She would answer. She would submit.
And she did.
Her face filled my heart as I walked back to my quarters. I thought I would find Scar crying herself to sleep over what she witnessed, but I was wrong.
She was out there with another man. Not just any man, but a disgrace to our pack.
My wolf's voice rumbled inside me, soft yet firm. "She still loves us."
I chuckled, a sound more predatory than humorous. "Yes. I know. If Scar didn't love us, she wouldn't be plotting revenge against Nina."
"We should help her," my wolf whispered.
"Of course," I responded. "I know exactly how to help her."
My legs moved with purpose, carrying me swiftly to the underground cell where Nina was kept.
The guards snapped to attention, their heads bowing in immediate courtesy.
"Rise," I commanded. My voice left no room for hesitation. "Leave this place. And ensure Nina's cell door remains open, without her knowledge."
"Yes, sir," they responded in unison, quickly dispersing.
My wolf's excitement thrummed through me. "I wish I could watch her deal with Nina," he said, his voice a low, savage growl of anticipation.
"We don't need to," I whispered back. "We've already done what's necessary."
The most critical matter now was Scar. I knew her heart still belonged to me. I would offer her a position as my mistress, a compromise that would satisfy both our needs.
She would accept. She had to.
Hunter's voice cut through my thoughts. "You shouldn't have slapped her."
I muttered my acknowledgment. "She left me no choice. A disobedient woman must be taught a lesson."
"It is high time," Hunter interjected, shifting our conversation. "We need to find our mate."
"Yes," I chuckled, a hint of self-satisfaction coloring my tone. "A befitting lady. Pure. Kind."
I returned to my quarters, my wolf's presence a constant whisper in my mind. Stripping off my clothes, I drew a bath, letting the warm water wash away the tensions.

Morning light crept through the windows when I awoke. The maid from yesterday stood in my room, cleaning, her presence unexpected and suddenly intrusive.
"What the heck are you doing here?" I asked. "Did I call you here?"
"Alpha," she purred, a sound that immediately set my teeth on edge. Her tone dripped with an indication I found offending.
Like seriously? Seducing me this early in the morning?
"What do you need?"
"I'm here to clean your room," she responded, her eyes holding a planned softness. "Do you still remember me, Alpha?"
I smirked. I knew her type instantly, another ambitious servant hoping to elevate her status through intimacy.
She believed one night could change her destiny, could make her something more than just another nameless and worthless maid in my pack.
She was wrong.
I scoffed at how hard she was trying to seduce me. "What I hate most is your type."
"Awwn," she purred again. "Do you mean that?"
A growl vibrated in my chest as she touched her chest, her heavy load, licking the corner of her lips, seducing me.
I loved what I was seeing. In a flash, she stripped herself naked.
"I'm sure you're gonna love this," she uttered, her voice laced with lust.
She seductively moved forward, each step making her breasts bounce. My mini-me rose. It was long and strong, ready to thrust into her. Hard and deep.
"You're hard, Alpha," she said as soon as she reached my bed. She climbed up to me before grabbing my rod. "I need to do something about it."
She paused. Her gaze locked with mine, a wicked smile playing across her lips, sharp-edged and knowing. "I'm the one who made it like this," she said, moving in a way that made me lose my composure.
Who the heck is this maid? My heart raced. My body moved on its own as I grabbed her chest.
"Easy, darling," she whispered.
How could this be happening? Why was I trembling in front of her? It was as if I had never seen a woman before.
This feeling was new. No matter how I claimed to love Scar, it was nothing close to this feeling I was experiencing.
"Is she our mate, Hunter?" I asked, mind-linking my wolf.
"No," he responded almost immediately.
"Then why am I behaving like this? This is abnormal, Hunter."
"I don't know." With that, Hunter cut off the mind-link. I could feel him crawl to the back of my mind.
"Urgh," I moaned as she began to pleasure me. I wanted to push her away, but I had no energy to do that.
All I could think about was the pleasure, the desire I never knew filled me as she wrapped her tongue around the tip of my stick.
Countless moans escaped me. I screamed in pleasure as she deep-throated me.
"More," I screamed, grabbing her head and forcing her to take all of me. "So good."
This is pure bliss. The experience surpassed my understanding, with waves of pleasure sweeping through me, erasing rational thought.
My mind surrendered completely, becoming a vessel of pure sensation, unable to think clearly. Every nerve tingled, every sense heightened beyond reason.
"I'm cumming." At a fast pace, I unloaded my seed inside her mouth.
I watched her lick every drop of my cum.
"So sweet," she moaned. "I want more."
She climbed down from my bed and walked to my nightstand.
She gently put her hand on it, bent down slowly, and showed me all of her. My eyes shone with lust.
"Come, Alpha," she moaned. "This is for you. Come and claim it."
