Chapter 108 Chapter 108
Chapter 108 Chapter 108
Elorai.
“It looks like something out of a postcard. It's beautiful.”
A soft smile blooms on his face. “Feel free to explore,” he mutters, then walks away from me.
Knox has already collapsed into one of the couches, and Ronan is helping himself to a drink at the small homemade parlor.
I walk toward the window, staring out at the scene, taking note of how the moon glistens down on the ripples, the sandy beach that surrounds it, and the lush fields I want to run through.
“Would we be exploring this tomorrow?” I ask no one in particular.
“Yeah... if you want us to,” Knox groans.
A flutter of excitement blooms in my chest. “I can't wait...” I say, turning toward them.
“Dinner will be brought in a few minutes. You can freshen up while you wait,” Lucas informs us, dropping the landline phone he was holding only moments ago.
I nod, feeling a yawn tickle at the back of my throat. Despite not doing anything today, I still feel rather tired.
In fact, my eyelids are getting pretty heavy.
“I'll shower first...” I announce, heading to what I think is the bathroom.
My guess is right. The first door I open leads me to the bathroom, and even that is a wonder on its own.
White marble tiles, a huge tub at the end with its own window to look out at another lush scenery, a beautiful shower, and of course a toilet and a grand mirror.
I immediately take off my clothes, hanging them loosely on the rack that has been provided, before slipping into the shower and turning on the warm water.
The water soothes my tense muscles, and for a moment I just stand there, enjoying the feel of the water rushing down on me.
Once my body feels loose enough, I proceed to lather it up, washing away the day's grime and sweat from my skin, as well as my face.
By the time I'm done, I feel much more refreshed. I step out of the bath naked, then pick up a towel sitting by the bathroom table, wrapping one around my body and one around my hair.
I debate wearing the clothes I had previously back on but soon change my mind.
I have a change of clothes out there; the problem is just walking out with a towel wrapped around me into the gaze of three hungry men.
I scoff at the ridiculous sentiment. These men have seen me naked so many times—why am I expecting this one to be different?
Summoning up enough courage, I step out of the bathroom into the room, and the alphas freeze where they were gathered around plates of food, their gazes immediately turning to me.
I stiffen, watching their eyes flicker with hunger, need, and a dozen other emotions I can't quite catch. A tingle runs down my spine, but I don't tear my gaze away, the tension in the room swelling to unbearable degrees.
For some reason, a deranged part of me wants to loosen the knot in my towel and stand before them bare, but I push against the thought before it can take root, my spine rigid as a pole.
Finally, Lucas clears his throat, dispelling us from the trance we seem to have slipped into.
“Food is here already. Do dress up and join us,” he announces.
I nod my head and quickly fish for my bag that's filled with everything I need. I pull out a change of clothes and discreetly put them on while the alphas stuff their plates full of food.
Once I'm done dressing, I join them too and have my own plate filled with so many delicacies. Then I settle down on the couch and eat while Knox browses through the television to see what we can watch.
Dinner is simple, quiet, yet hearty. We don't talk much, mainly because the alphas are doing everything in their power not to lose control and pin me down, with the way their gazes keep cutting through my skin.
And I, on the other hand, keep avoiding their gazes, desperate not to let things escalate.
I finish eating, and with my belly full and body clean, a wave of drowsiness slams into me, a yawn escaping my lips.
Lucas notices it.
“Go to bed, Lo...” he orders softly.
I stiffen slightly. “What about you three?”
“We're not sleeping just yet. Need to burn off some extra energy. But you do look like you need it.”
He was right. Now that I was full, I did feel very sleepy.
“Okay...” I answer, standing to my feet. “Have a good night,” I mutter, ambling toward the bed.
I slip between the sheets and lay my head on the pillow, a breath escaping my lips. A strange warmth lingers beneath my skin, deeper than the exhaustion but I brush it off, adjusting my body on the bed.
It feels different with the alphas not being here with me, since I'm already used to sleeping with them, but for the first time, exhaustion wins.
I close my eyes, letting sleep take me away to a land of dreams, where nothing can touch me.

The next day arrives, and I'm already raring to go outside. I wake up when the alphas do, and together we prepare for our day at the beach.
Since it's not far from where we're staying, Lucas suggests we walk there, and I agree, mostly because I thought it was going to be a fun idea. Ten minutes in, and I start to regret my decision. The beach is a lot farther than it looks, and I realize I'm either grossly underdressed or overdressed for this trip.
In my defense, Lucas had suggested I wear something light, and I thought a T-shirt and shorts was good enough, but why is everyone else wearing their underclothes outside?!
Knox sees the confusion on my face and laughs out loud, the wind carrying his voice.
“You weren't expecting this, were you?” he asks, glancing at me.
I shake my head.
“Well, it's the beach. And what you see them wearing—those are called bikinis.”
“Why didn't you tell me this?”
“If we had told you, would you have worn something similar?” Ronan chips in from behind us, and I glance at him, seeing that he has a brow raised.
I shrug, even as embarrassment burns my face. “We don't know. I might have packed something. Now I feel so out of place.”
“Don't mind them. You look good the way you are,” Lucas says in his attempt to cheer me up.
I scoff, rolling my eyes, but soon smile. Bikini or not, I'm excited for today.
I somehow manage to make it to the beach without fainting halfway, and the walk is worth it.
Being this close to the sea is invigorating, to say the least. I'm almost tempted to rush into the water, but since I can't swim, I've resolved to take it easy instead.
That is, until Lucas speaks up.
