Epilogue
Tikayo was executed very early in the morning. He was taken out of the hut where he was kept as a prisoner to the fringes of the forest and hanged on a big baobab tree. As for his family members, since they had fled to an unknown destination nobody bothered about them any more.
But this development coupled with their dissatisfaction over the whole episode took a new turn as irate villagers sneaked into Tikayo‟s compound setting it on fire, they watched delightfully as the compound burned to the ground.
The elders of Boma village never made any enquiries. After all it was a cleansing process.
With Tikayo dead, his family gone and his compound burnt to the ground, Boma village once again began to enjoy peace and tranquility.
