Chapter 75: Kellela

Chapter 75: Kellela
Hearing the name Edmond made the man walk towards us.
He raised his crane and said something which I couldn't quite understand, making the barrier that we saw glimmer a few moments ago to shine as a whole was made in the invisible wall.
“Come through.” The man said as he gestured towards us with his hand.
Slowly, one by one we walked past the barrier making it the moment the last one of us pass it, to close up again behind our backs.
When I turned back looking away from the barrier, my breath got caught in my throat as we all stood there dumbfounded, seeing what looked like a little village appear before us.
“Welcome to the Kellela. Follow me.” The man said to us as we all followed slowly, sticking to each other close by, passing through the village center, seeing all kinds of different shifters watching at us with curiosity.
The joy and laughter coming from the children, playing around, as they ran around us, smiling as one little girl stood shyly in front of me making me crouch down to greet her, "Hello there."
The little girl smiled at me, showing me her wide smile as two of her teeth were missing.
She was so adorable as she came closer and whispered in my ear, “You are really pretty.”
I chuckled as I said, “Thank you, but you look like a beautiful fairy princess.”
She blushed as her mother walked over, “Sophie, come here dear.”
The little girl waved at me as she ran away towards her mother who took her in her arms and kissed at her little chubby cheeks.
The man that was leading us said, “Wait here.” And soon he walked towards one of the little village houses.
We were all mesmerized by the little village and surprised to see so many mixed-species living together in the same place.
Everyone seemed polite as they would greet us, passing by us.
A man that led us here, came outside one of the little houses followed by a lean, older woman with a white long hair.
The two walked right towards us as an older woman smiled warmly, opening her arms as she said, “Welcome to the hidden village called Kellela. My name is Melissa Moone but please call me Lyssa.”
This was such a surprise as I have never expected such hospitality, less a hidden village.
Damon and Marcus stepped forwards as Damon said, “Thank you so much for your warm welcome. We didn’t expect well…” he trailed off, looking around the little village and all its people making the old lady smile warmly.
“I understand. Come inside, I am sure you all much be hungry and I hope you all like tea as I just made a fresh pot.” Lyssa warmly said to as, turning around, leading us inside one of the small houses.
The house was looking ordinary outside, small, but the moment we stepped inside it we were stunned.
It was homey, but at the same time much bigger with a huge stone fireplace that was burning in the middle of a big living room, two large couches facing each other next to the fireplace, decorated with so many colorful pillows and a quill.
"Please take a seat and make yourself comfortable, I will just go get you all some tea, and food will be served shortly," Lyssa said as she left the living room leaving the man that led us to this little village to stay with us.
We were are seated down, feeling a little tired from a long day, letting the silence fill up the room.
Lyssa walked back inside with a tray filled with a teapot and empty cups, placing them on the little wooden coffee table that was placed in the middle of two couches.
“Bert dear, did you introduce yourself to our guests?” Lyssa asked, looking at the brown-haired man that was sitting in one of the chairs that he brought closer to join us.
He blinked at her question and I saw his eyes widened slightly when he realized he didn't even say his name to us, "No I have forgotten." He turned towards us all as he said, "I am sorry everyone for my manners or the lack of them, my name is Bert which you have already heard now." He gave out a little laugh and everyone relaxed as we all introduced each other.
The atmosphere in the room was relaxed and friendly, as we all were drinking our tea as a few females brought some food for us which we gratefully accepted and eat.
“Bert tells me that Edmond sent you here?” Lyssa asked, sipping her cup of tea.
Marcus looked at us before he answered, "Yes that is right. He gave us a map and said to follow it and it leads us to this place, but I have to ask, how did he know of this village?"
Lyssa smiled hearing the question, “My mate is a special male. He has informed me of your journey so that is why we were all prepared for your arrival as Bert was the one waiting by the border to greet you all.”
Bert jumped in then, "I am sorry for probably appearing a little cold at first, but we have to be careful as to who comes or passes by."
We all listened carefully as to what they were saying, as Damon spoke up, “Edmond is your mate?”
Lyssa laughed a little, “Surprised?”
Damon nodded his head at that, "Yes a little. I never knew he meets you as he is always well…I mean to say…" she raised her hand cutting him off.
“I know what you mean to say, the Law, and the rule to reject your other half if they don’t belong to your own kind.” Lyssa softly said, still having her sweet smile showing on her face.
“Yes. I don’t mean to offend you.” Damon said.
“No need to apologize dear. Edmond speaks of you fondly all the time. The old dragon is proud and stubborn but as few of you here, we couldn’t follow the Law so this little village is like a village of Rebels towards the Elders and their rules. Here mates can be together and live their happy life if they choose it. No matter what species you belong we all are here a family and we help each other.” Lyssa said.
“I have never heard of Kellela," Logan said looking at the rest of us to see if any of us did.
"That is why it is hidden under the radar from sight so we can live in peace and far away from Elders and Law," Lyssa said.
“So how did all these people find this village?” I asked as she looked over at me with a smile.
"Edmond is right, you will be a great Luna as you care about people and not just your own," Lyssa said to me making me shyly thank her.
"The ones that chose to run away and stay together, they stumble into this woods and we find them and help them as we give them a home here," Bret said.
"That is so honorable of you and all you are doing," I said making them both smile thanking me.
“So what is your quest?” Lyssa asked us.
Marcus smiled as he answered her, "Edmond has seen Olivia's and my future and since we both are now wanted by Elders as we ran away from their lands when they were about to force to break our bond…" he was cut off by Lyssa.
“Forced? I am guessing that then you both weren’t marked as I can see that you are.” She asked.
“Yes, at that time we weren’t so that is why they wanted to force us to reject each other.” Marcus finished.
"But only one can do such a thing and he is not reliable as an ally at all." Bret said as he abruptly turned around towards Lyssa, “Do you think it is Alodar?”
Again that name, why is he so important?
Lyssa nodded her head as she turned to look at us, “Do you know of Alodar?”
We all shook our heads as she continued, “Alodar is a demon king, not someone you want to be around with as he is ruthless and cruel, a man that lives and enjoys others pain and misery.”
O that now explains.
"He is powerful enough to use his magic and force someone to break the bond, but only if the bond is not fully completed," Bret added.
“What did Edmond see?” Lyssa asked looking at Marcus and me.
Marcus said, “He told us to find the secret Moon Goddess Mountain as it hides inside her own White warriors.”
"You mean the legend of Azrael and his legion of the famous White warriors?" Bert asked us with wide eyes, sitting close to the edge of his chair.
"Yes, and the map is showing us the way how to find them," Damon said.
"My mate was always smart and whatever he has seen, I am sure he had a good enough reason to send you to seek the first warrior's help," Lyssa said.
"Well, you all better take a good rest as you have a long journey ahead of you. Chose any room on the second floor that you would like and don't worry, you all are safe here." Lyssa added as we all stood up and thanked her and Bert for everything, walking upstairs to get some much-needed rest.
