#87 Unstoppable

Unstoppable
Ryanna POV

The courtyard still reeked of blood and smoke when I pulled back from Veyra. My body shook with exhaustion, but my hands stayed on her cheeks, my forehead pressed to hers. She was alive, glowing faintly with the silver fire I’d forced into her veins. The bond between us hummed, bright and new, pulsing like a heartbeat that wasn’t mine alone.

And then I felt them. My men, my star.

Kaelan, Lucien, Rhydor, Darian, Dryke, Aedryos, they were all there, surrounding us in a loose circle. Their faces were a mix of relief, fury, and something else I couldn’t quite name. Lucien’s silver eyes were calm, shadows curling lazily at his feet like smoke. He looked at me, then at Veyra, then back at me, and smirked like he’d known this would happen all along.

The others? Not so composed.

Kaelan’s golden eyes flicked from me to Veyra and back, wide and sharp, then heated. His wolf, Keir, pressed hard against the bond, curious as fuck. Rhydor’s black eyes were darker than I’d ever seen, storming with protective instinct, but his gaze lingered, his jaw tight, his chest heaving like he was fighting himself.

Darian looked like someone had dumped a bucket of equations into his head, his blue eyes darting, his lips parted, cheeks flushed. Dryke… gods. His dragon heat rolled off him in waves, and the way his green eyes dragged over Veyra like she was already his prey made my thighs clench. Aedryos and Ze stood slightly back, starfire and void still crackling off them, both watchful and unreadable.

Nobody spoke. The silence stretched too long. The courtyard was still chaos, soldiers carrying wounded, witches reinforcing wards, dragons dragging broken wings, but all I felt was them, their bond, their heat, and their sudden, undeniable hunger.

I laughed. It burst out of me, ragged and raw, and turned into a full grin. “Oh, thank the fucking gods,” I said, my voice breaking into a giggle. “Because same. You think I nearly bled myself dry for her just to watch her walk away? Hell no.”

And before anyone could argue, I kissed Veyra. Really kissed her. Her mouth was hot and demanding, tasting of blood and fire, her fangs grazing my lower lip as her claws dug lightly into my back. The bond flared so bright it was like kissing lightning, raw and addictive. She moaned low in her throat, a sound that rolled right into my bones.

My men didn’t stop me.They moved in.

Kaelan’s hand slid against my waist, grounding me, his golden eyes burning as he pressed his forehead briefly to mine and Veyra’s like he was claiming both at once.

Rhydor’s massive arms wrapped around all three of us, a wall of muscle and heat. Darian’s clever hands brushed my shoulder, then Veyra’s, his blue eyes wide and devouring.

Lucien’s shadows curled around our legs, cool and slick, his smirk sharpening as he touched the back of Veyra’s neck like he’d been waiting centuries. Dryke’s dragon heat pressed at my side, his green eyes blazing, his palm trailing down my spine as he leaned close enough to breathe the kiss we were still lost in. Aedryos stood guard, watching us silently.

We were tangled, me and Veyra kissing like our lives depended on it, my men circling, touching, staking silent claims while also staring at her like she was dessert after a war feast.

When I finally pulled back, panting, my lipstick ruined, Veyra licked her lips slow and wicked. She looked every inch the predator she was, and every inch mine.

Dryke broke the silence first. His voice was rough and heated. “So… is it okay if I fuck her too? Because damn, that’s hot.”

Kaelan barked a laugh, golden eyes gleaming. “You and me both, dragon.”

Rhydor grunted, the sound half a growl, half amusement. “If the queen wants her, she’s ours too. That’s how this works.”

Darian, bless his nerdy heart, waggled his brows like an idiot. “I volunteer as tribute.”

Lucien smirked wider, his shadows tightening around all of us. “I already said yes.”

Aedryos's starfire eyes sparkled with amusement as he grinned. "Whatever the Queen demands. "

I giggled, unable to help it, still clinging to Veyra. “Me first,” I teased, my voice breathless and wicked. “Then yeah, I’m good with all of us together.”

Veyra’s grin was feral. “Me fucking too.” She licked her lips deliberately, her frostfire eyes cutting over each of my men one by one. “All of you.”

Darian groaned dramatically, Kaelan whooped, Dryke actually purred smoke, and Rhydor rolled his eyes but didn’t deny it.

The moment could’ve spiraled hotter, but the world around us reminded us of itself, wolves whimpering, witches crying, dragons bleeding out. Duty roared back into my chest.

I pressed one last kiss to Veyra’s mouth, softer this time, then shoved myself up on shaking legs. “Later,” I promised, loud enough for all of them to hear. “Right now, people need us.”

Veyra’s smirk softened into something almost tender. “Go, Queen. I’ll be fine.”

“No, you’ll help,” I shot back, tugging her hand. She rose beside me, proud even with blood drying on her throat.

We split.

Kaelan sprinted to the wounded, his golden wolf energy steadying them as he shifted back and forth to heal gashes with speed and warmth. Rhydor hoisted a collapsed warrior onto his back like he weighed nothing, barking orders to form triage lines.

Darian dashed toward the witches, already pulling supplies from his pack, his genius brain directing medics with crisp efficiency. Lucien stalked through the wreckage, shadows curling into splints and bandages, soothing frightened children as easily as he threatened enemies. Dryke and his dragon riders rallied, dragging the injured drakes to healers with snarls of defiance.

Aedryos and Ze stayed by the hydra’s corpse. Their combined magic lit the courtyard like a sun, starfire and void eating through the beast’s remains, burning it to ash so no poison lingered. Their faces were grim, focused, but their bond pulsed approval through mine.

I fell to my knees again, my hands glowing as I poured healing into every broken body I could reach. Blood soaked my gown but I didn’t care. One wolf gasped awake beneath my palms, then another. A witch’s leg sealed under my fire, her eyes brimming with tears of gratitude. Every life saved filled me, even as it hollowed me out.

Through it all, Veyra never left my side. She dragged bodies to me, snarled at anyone who faltered, her claws tearing cloth for bandages, her presence fierce and steady. Every time our hands brushed, the bond sparked brighter, reminding me: she was mine, she was ours.

By the time the last wounded were stabilized, dawn was breaking again. The courtyard was scarred, bodies covered in sheets, dragons limping, wolves bloodied, but alive. We’d survived. Barely.

I collapsed onto the steps, my mates gathering one by one, their faces tired but lit with something new. Desire. Curiosity. Hope. Veyra leaned against the wall beside me, her eyes catching mine with a wicked grin.

And for the first time since the prophecy began, I didn’t feel like we were breaking apart under the weight of fate.

I felt like we were building something unstoppable.
