They heard knocks on the door that awakened them both. Lexus and Daffodil jumped to their feet when they heard the knocking and then the voice calling out Lexus’ name.
“Lexus, are you awake now? A warrior is outside, looking for you.” Lexus’ Father, who was outside said after knocking on the door.
“I will be out in a while, Father,” Lexus replied loudly. He looked at Daffodil who scampered in picking up her clothes scattered on the floor and wearing them back. She threw to Lexus his trousers, shirt, and his underwear. When they were both fully cloth already Daffodil eyed Lexus who made just three wide steps to reach her.
“I need to go, Lex. Someone might accidentally found out that I am missing and we definitely knew the consequences.,” Daffodil said in a low tone. She will be missing Lexus again.
Lexus nodded. “Alright, Sweetheart. I will not hold you more. Go now and I will just see you there.” He cupped her face and gave her a deep and passionate kiss. When their lips parted, Daffodil concentrated and focus her mind on letting it work like how she did it when she come to Lexus’ room.
When Daffodil was gone, Lexus hurried to see who was looking for him. As he entered their living room, he saw one of their warriors, who bowed at him in greetings.
“Apology to wake you up Beta Lexus, but our Alpha is looking for you,” the warrior immediately informed him.
“May I know why?”
“It was not mentioned, Beta Lexus, but I noticed a commotion nearby the room of the golden she-wolf.”
Lexus suddenly stiffen as he heard what the warrior had just mentioned. “Okay, I will be there immediately,” he said after a while.
He just took a quick bath to remove the scent of Daffodil in him and then he went to their packhouse as ordered by their Alpha. When he arrived at the packhouse the environment was peaceful and nothing seemed to be suspicious.
He went straight to the office of Alpha Daedos. As he knocked twice, he heard the voice of their Alpha.
“That’s open, come in.”
“Good afternoon, Alpha,” he bowed his in greeting Alpha Daedos.
“Lexus, the problem has been solved already. But it is good that you still come.” Alpha Daedos replied while sitting on his executive chair. He then motioned for Lexus to take the seat on the front side of his executive desk.
“May I know what's supposed to be the problem, Alpha Daedos,” Lexus asked after taking his seat on the chair suggested by the Alpha.
“Well, we thought the Golden She-Wolf escaped. We were wrong. Fortunately, she was just in the comfort room when the pack house’s maid check her room and found her not inside it.” Alpha Daedos explained while shaking his head in annoyance. The pack house’s maid was careless in reporting something that she was not yet sure about. She created a commotion for something that did not happen.
Lexus fell silent when he heard what the Alpha had said.

Daffodil’s arrival inside her room and immediate taking of a shower were exactly right on time. When Alpha Daedos and Drew came to check on her, she was already wearing a new dress and drying up her hair with a hairdryer in front of her vanity mirror.
When she heard knocks on the door, she immediately stood up and was surprised to see Alpha Daedos and his son, Drew.
She smiled and bowed her head as her way of greeting them.
The expression of Alpha Daedos and Drew were similar. Both of them were with furrowed foreheads while they looked at her with questions in their eyes.
“Did you leave your room, Ms. Daffodil?” All of a sudden, Alpha Daedos asked while looking at Daffodil, keenly.
Good thing Daffodil’s head was still down when she heard the question. She automatically bit her lip to suppress her sudden surprise. She shook her head.
“No, Alpha Daedos. I did not leave my room. I was inside the shower room, taking a bath,” she replied, lying, while her head was still bent down. She dared not look into the eye of the Alpha and his son.
“I see. Good. You were missing a while ago, that was why we became worried. Anyhow, my apology for disturbing you,” It was Alpha Daedos still who spoke.
“It is fine, Alpha Daedos.” This time, Daffodil looked up and tried to release a smile to Alpha Daedos and Drew. Drew was looking at her keenly as if he was in deep thoughts.
Drew cleared his throat before he spoke. “Maybe the pack house’s maid did not check carefully before reporting that you were missing.”
“Oh. Maybe I was in the shower when she entered my room, that was why,” Daffodil reasoned out although her heart was heaving fast. Of course, she does not want Alpha Daedos and Drew to even think that she was doing something beyond the pack’s rules.
“By the way, Daffodil, tomorrow, please come to my office at exactly ten in the morning. You will be fetched by one of the guards here. I just wanted to discuss with you some details or information.” Alpha Daedos said again which made Daffodil look at him with an inquisitive look.
“I just wanted to know you more. Ms. Daffodil,” Alpha Daedos said as if in reply to Daffodil’s question inside her mind.
She nodded trying to smile. She wondered what kind of details, Alpha Daedos wanted to discuss with her tomorrow. It brought curiosity to Daffodil.
When Alpha Daedos and Drew excused themselves to Daffodil, she readily nodded and bowed her head in acceptance. She sighed in relief after closing her room door.
Suddenly, she heard Lexus' voice in her mind. He was mind-linking her.
“Sweetheart, are you alright? Are you in your room now?” Lexus asked.
“Yes, Lex. I am here now. I was just right on time before they could really know that I left the room. Where are you?” she mind-linked him back.
“I am here at Alpha Daedos’ office and he mentioned that there was a commotion a while ago because of the wrong information given by the Pack house’s maid that you were missing,” Lexus replied. He wanted to grin but he controlled himself. He was still in the office of Alpha Daedos and he might notice his reaction.
“Lexus, I will be having a meeting with the Golden She-wolf tomorrow.” Alpha Daedos abruptly muttered. He was looking right into Lexus’ eyes.
Lexus nodded in return before throwing his question with curiosity. “Why is that so, my Alpha?”
Alpha Daedos smiled. “Oh, I just wanted to know the Golden She-wolf better. I wanted to know what is really deep inside her heart and her mind.”
