We stayed there until we were both quiet again; quiet with puffy eyes, lips shaking with ghost sobs, and a bond that was bathing in sadness. "Come on," I whispered to him as I stood up. I helped him out of the tub and made him sit on the edge while I dried most of him off, including his hair that was dripping down his face to meet his tears. I got enough of it off until my wolf was satisfied that our male was ok, at least physically. The towel soaked up quite a bit of water from my hair as I squeezed some of the liquid out as well, at least the mud was gone. Ethan let me pull him to our bed where I slipped in first so he could slide next to me, into my arms. I wrapped myself up in my own Ethan blanket then started to kiss some of the tears away that were still wet on his cheeks. "I'm so sorry Ethan, I'm so sorry." I kissed some more tears away before leaning my head against his chest while he pulled me to him, holding me as if I was about to disappear. "I love you," I whispered to him. "I love you sunshine," he breathed out before he buried his nose in my hair. I wouldn't say I slept well that night, but it certainly wasn't peaceful. Both Ethan and I woke up numerous times due to violent dreams that ripped us away from sleep's peaceful embrace. At least we had each other to hold. At one point I woke up with my chest wet from all the tears I had cried in my sleep, my wolf was howling out and scratching to get out. It was awful; but Ethan woke up and kissed them off my cheeks then pulled me back him, whispering sweet things to convince us that the nightmares were gone. But I felt like there were many more to come. Something was trailing my cheek. It was warm and tinglingly, like flame dancing across my skin. I fluttered my eyes open to see blue-green eyes staring lovingly back at me. "Hi," he breathed out. I smiled sleepily. His eyes were still red from a lack of sleep and tears we had both cried throughout the night, but still, they were memorizing as always even in this state. "Hi." He pushed my hair back and kissed my lips tenderly, letting out a sigh of relief when he did. "Thank you." "For what?" "For making me come home, you were right. It would not have ended well for the pack if I would have gone after him last night." I and scooted closer to him so I could lean my head on his chest. I leaned up a little and kissed his neck, the mark, my mark; he shivered a little as the bond seemed to twirl a little from the sensation. I sighed a little and leaned against him as he started to draw little lines, doodles, against my lower back. "How do you feel today?" "Still murderous, but my head is clearer." I against him before another thought crossed my mind. "We have to tell Evan and Evangeline, and Levi." "I know," he sighed out as his other arm moved so it became my pillow while his fingers played with the ends of my hair. "What did you tell Evan last night?" "To come this morning, last night was too much for us," I said as I inhaled a deep breath of the scent pouring off his chest that seemed to calm my beast and agony that were clawing at me. Ethan nodded. "We tell Evan today, then figure out how to tell the others. Levi will be tricky." "You think he'll try and come after Thomas?" "I think we'll be lucky if he doesn't." I sighed and leaned back so I could look at him. "We're going to make it right Ethan, I know we will." Ethan sighed and nodded. He kissed my forehead before pulling me back to him. "That we will sunshine, that we will," he promised as small fingers of darkness touched his voice. The agony was starting to leave and rage was starting to seep in. "Would he have really have hurt you?" "Levi?" he breathed against my hair. "Looking back, I don't think so. I kind of think if I would have stayed there that maybe he wouldn't have lost it, he was fighting hard not to. I don't know, though. If I were in his shoes and it were you, there's not much that would stop me from losing my damn mind before I walked to the moon with you." "I just can't believe all of it," I breathed out. "I mean, I can, it's just–insane." Ethan nodded then gently grasped my waist. He moved me over his torso until I was laying directly on top him with his fingers playing with my wavy hair. I could feel his beast, it was like he was just right below his skin. He was angry. Furious. I had no idea how Ethan was keeping him in, but shit, it must have taken some amazing self-control. "Everything's changed," he stated solemnly. "We need to move faster now. He's involved in some bad shit. I don't know what it is but all night I had this creeping feeling that the past was coming back to visit us. I can't let that happen, I won't let that happen again. Not to our pack.
