CHAPTER 39

The alarm goes off, and wakes me from from my sleep. Lucas is wrapped around me like ivy. He smells of champagne, roses and Lucas. Oh my, I really could get used to this.

He's still fast asleep when I get up cautiously, not intending to disturb him, since it's only 5:15 am. He could use some more sleep. I quickly brush my teeth, and get out of my bathroom.

But, poor me, I've got many things to deal with, and much ground to cover up. I decide to call Luke for something important.

"Good morning, sir. How can I help you?"

"Luke, good morning. Could you have a Lamborghini delivered to my office by 4pm, today?"

"Sir, which model are you looking for?" He sounds surprised.

"Sports aventador. Neptune blue." I inform him.

"Sure, sir. It'll be infront of your office by 4 pm today. Anything else, sir?"

"No, thank you, Luke."

"Okay, sir." He says, as I hang up.

The Lamborghini will be a wedding present from my side. I mean, why not? It's not like I can't afford it. But, the bigger question is, would he even accept it? Well, now that I'm his would be husband, maybe he'd argue a bit less about me giving him gifts. A man an dream.

Now, the next person who I should call is Natalie. Yeah, my super efficient assistant. She picks up in three rings.

"Natalie, can you buy me two classy platinum wedding rings?"

"Uh? I mean, yeah! Why not? Sir, do you want to tell me what kind of rings would you like?" She sounds even more surprised than Luke was.

"Yeah. A thick dome shaped simple one, and another one, relatively thin, but studded with diamonds around the outer circumference."

"Got it, sir. Do you want me to give you the pictures of the ones I've selected?"

"Nah. You'll do just fine."

"Sir, may I ask, why the rings? I mean, sorry to pry... but..."

"It is for me."

"What even— sir, congratulations! Er, who is the person?"

"It's Lucas Carter. The guy I interviewed."

"Oh my God, I wish you both all the best. And, I'll get on with those rings as fast as I can." She sounds like I've made her day and hangs up.

What's wrong with my staff? I mean, even I'm a person with emotions, so obviously I can get married. Though, I myself never thought I would. Ironic, isn't it?

I quickly walk towards my kitchen, as I find a bowl of buttermilk chicken kept in the fridge, and I take it out. Mrs. Reed is totally amazing. I don't know what I'd do without her. She has even toasted a few slices of bread, and kept it near the counter wrapped in aluminum foil.

I take out the bowl of buttermilk chicken from the fridge, as I grab some gloves and toss it in the microwave for 3 minutes. I am rummaging through the fridge for some white wine, when the microwave beeps, and I carefully take the bowl out of the microwave.

Finally, I could do something in the kitchen without making a complete mess. I'm proud of myself. I pour in the dry white wine in two glasses, as I serve the buttermilk chicken on two plates, as I place a few bread toast on them.

I take out a blood bag from my fridge, as I mix it with my wine and keep Lucas's one untouched.

"Good morning!" An excited voice calls out to me, and I spot Lucas standing in the foyer.

How does he look that good even in the mornings? What demi god had come so near creation?

"Good morning, come here." I reply, as he comes near the kitchen island, and sits on one of the bar stools.

I serve him his breakfast, as I dig the fork in my food. Uh, this tastes heavenly.

I intentionally lick my lips, as I let out a moan.

"Stop it!" Lucas exclaims, as I chuckle at him.

We finish our breakfast, as we walk in the closet, rummaging out the attire that'd fit. I at last, find out a charcoal grey suit, while Lucas sticks with a plan red shirt, and black pants.

"How do I look?" He asks me, posing infront of the mirror.

"You'd look sexy in a sack." I wink at him, as I peck his lips.

I decide to leave the grey blazer, because it's too hot. I stick with the white formal shirt, with the charcoal grey tie and trouser. I tousle and slick my copper brown hair a bit, as I roll up my sleeves, and put a black rolex watch on my left hand.

The fabric brings out my muscle, as I flex my bieceps. I look just fine.

"Are you some greek sex god?" Lucas stands beside me, his eyes admiring the view.

"Says the male counterpart of Aphrodite herself." I scoff, as he rolls his eyes.

After the elevator ride, we end up in the garage, with the keys of my Audi R8 Spyder.

"I'll drive." Lucas says.

"No, I will drive." I narrow my eyes at him. He's reckless, it isn't safe.

"What? Why?" He asks me, scowling.

"You can wreck my car, which isn't a concern really, but you will end up in the hospital just like you did a while ago. And nothing will happen to me, be cause, vampire." I frown at him.

He could really get hurt if he's not careful, which he never is.

And that's when a thought crosses my mind. What if...? Do I dare tell it to him?

"Lucas, some years of us together won't be enough. I want eternity. Allow me to turn you into a vampire, and spend the eternity with me." Damn, I've gone too far, and Lucas is looking at me in horror, his jaw almost dropping to the floor. Shit, what have I said?
