CHAPTER 25
How did this shit even happen? I told Lucas to get in my car!
Holy shit! What if something happens to him? It will all be because of you— my subconscious stares daggers at me. Well, uh, I can't think properly. My head is blank.
I shut my computer down, as I call Natalie and tell her that I'm sick, and I'm leaving now.
Sweat is trickling down my forehead and I simply don't know what to do. It's as if my legs have turned into Jell-O. God, just let him be okay. Please! I silently pray as I get out of GODFREY CORPORATIONS.
I spot my Audi just outside my building. I vamp speed towards my car and I see Luke in it.
"Luke, where the fuck is Lucas?" I shout.
"Sir, he never came in." He says in a disturbed voice.
"Luke, go home and give me the keys of the car. Tell the security to be off for 3 days and give Susan a break for 3 days as well." I mumble as I try to keep my head above the water.
"Sure, sir." He agrees as he hands me the keys of my car and hops out.
I get inside my car, as my phone pings. It's the address. 24th Gregory lane, near the abandoned playground in a dilapidated building. Fine, let's head towards the bank.
The money in my hands, would be sure to cause a distraction and then I'll do what I decide to do with those motherfuckers.
I start recklessly driving the car, and within a few minutes, I'm infront of the bank.
I quickly fix my suit and tie, as I walk into the bank and I request to see the senior manager.
"Mr. Godfrey, really nice to see you after a long time. How much do you want to withdraw?" He speaks with a smile.
I don't have fucking time for courtesies.
"2 million dollars." I say.
"Um... such huge amount, need some time to—" He argues.
I slam my hand on the desk as I growl, "I DON'T HAVE TIME! I WANT THE MONEY NOW!"
He jumps a bit, due to getting startled, but quickly regains the composure which I simply can't.
"Okay, write a cheque and we'll handle the rest." He offers me a blank cheque.
I fill up the information in the cheque, as I fimally sign it and hand over it to him.
He nods and says, "Mr. Godfrey, 2 million is a huge amount. Do you need some help?"
"Yeah. Get me two duffel bags and I'll handle the rest."
Within a couple of minutes, the manager comes in with two duffel bags filled with cash, and I easily pick them up and head towards my car.
I deposit the two bags beside the driver seat, and I, myself hop in the driver seat.
I quickly change some directions and I find myself infront of the old, worn out building in 24 Gregory lane.
I vamp speed towards the building, with the bags in my hands after abandoning my Audi near the road.
That's when I spot Lucas. He's tied up with a chair, his face is wounded, several scratch marks with drops of blood oozing out of them.
His hair, usually so shiny, is matted with blood. I WILL KILL THEM ALL.
I feel the heat flaring up in my body, as the anger flows in my veins.
Self-control, Godfrey. Self-control. Now's not the time, they still have him.
Lucas flutters his eyes open, as he spots me and some colour comes back to his cheeks.
WHERE ARE THE FUCKERS?
I spot about 12 men, with knives and other play toys in their hands. Their faces are covered with black masks. But, I can't spot Ryder anywhere. That bastard has this bad habit of making others do his job.
All the 12 men, come towards me as they ask me for the money.
"Let's end this charade, shall we?" I smirk as I throw the duffel bags somewhere, I don't care about right now as I grab one of them by the neck. My fangs protrude out, as they dig deep into the attacker's neck. When I'm done with the guy, I throw him on the ground.
With blood dripping down my lips, and with the vampire in me, bubbling out, it is going to be easy.
After I've had enough, with drinking the blood of the 11 other men, I gladly snap their necks and rip the hearts out of their chest.
I take out a handkerchief from my jacket pocket, as I clean my hands.
I vamp speed towards Lucas, and I find that he's fallen unconscious. Maybe it's because of witnessing 12 brutal killings. Oh, now he'll surely leave me because of the savage monster that I truly am.
I untie him from the chair, as I gently scoop him up on my lap as I carry him towards my car.
I rush to the hospital as several doctors come up and take him away on a stretcher. They're taking him to the operation room. They informed me that his ribs are wounded, and there is a bullet inside his left leg.
After the bullet is taken out, my vampire blood can heal him. Yeah, that's what I'm gonna do. Hopefully, if he stays with me. Though the chances are about null, but a man can dream. I'm asked to sit outside the operation theatre, as I bury my head in my hands. The wait seems eternal.
