CHAPTER 21

Luke has dropped some Advil in my room which I offered Lucas, and fortunately, he obediently took it without arguments.

"Go to bed." I order him from the sofa.

"Really, bed?" He archs an eyebrow and smirks at me. Oh, no way. That's your punishment for today.

"For sleep." I smirk back. His face falls as he opens his mouth to argue, but closes it soon after.

He hesitatingly gets up on the bed, as he pulls up the silk sheets and turns over to my side.

I position myself close to him, as he clutches the hem of my jeans and pulls me closer. I offer no resistance.

I have no idea for how long I had been lying with him like this, until the ringing of my phone wakes me up. Who the fuck is this, at this hour?

I pick up the call. "Godfrey. " I growl.

"Mr. Godfrey, sorry for calling at this hour, but there's a very important meeting tomorrow which requires your attention. It's Peter Graves." He speaks with a low tone.

Fuck this, honestly. A man like me can't even take a break fot two days, my ass.

"Graves, ask Rod to keep the jet ready at 6 am tomorrow. I'm coming back." I remark in a deep tone.

"Sure, sir. Good night." I hang up.

I go through some of the unattended emails which have accomodated since the last few days as I start responding to them.

I have turned the brightness down to the least because I don't want to wake Lucas up. I sigh, as I pour some brandy into a glass and I countinue to work.

Before I realise it, it's already 5:25 am. I get up from my couch as I finish brushing my teeth.

"Lucas! Wake up." I nudge him on the shoulder.

"Go away." He frowns at me and pulls the sheets up on his face.

"We have to leave today. The jet is waiting." I shake my head as I pull down the sheets from on top of his face.

"What? Today?" He seems sad.

"There is some situation at work at needs my urgent attention. Get ready." I smile at him.

He gets up and walks towards the bathroom to brush his teeth. In the meantime, I decide to get ready.

I quickly put on a white shirt and grab a tie and pull on a grey trouser. I sort out a grey blazer from the suitcase as I put it on as well.

I stand infront of the mirror, as I apply some hair gel, and tousle my already slicked hair a bit. It's nice not growing old. I smirk at myself.

When I'm done getting ready, I face away from the mirror and I find Lucas grinning at me.

What gives? What is it?

He stalks towards me and places his agile fingers on my grey silk tie as his adjusts it and steps back.

"Now, that's it." He smiles triumphantly at me. Oh, I could get used to this. He fixing my ties everyday when I'm off to work.

He's like vicious oil in my deep, dark waters. That was flowery.

Not quite impressed with my romantic thoughts, I put on my leather shoes and Lucas puts on a t-shirt and jeans. This time, he ties his shoes successfully and signals me to move out of the room.

I grab my suitcase as he and I exit the room and walk towards the garage, after the short elevator ride.

I find Luke sitting in the car as I and Lucas hop in.

"To the jet field, Luke."

"Yes, sir."

After a drive of about twenty minutes, I'm here infront of my jet. Rod greets me and Lucas as we make ourselves comfortable.

I adjust Lucas's seat as he leans his head on my shoulder as we drift off to a sleep while the flight takes off.
