Alvin as suspect

Alvin as suspect
“You invited the cops, didn't you?” Alvin asked and this time, his question was directed at Raul.
“Go fuck yourself,” Raul snapped, looking away from him as a knock interrupted. All eyes were on the door, anticipating the cop that Alvin spoke about.

When Alvin decided to open the door, Detective Calvin walked in confidently, studying their gaze as he walked further to the desk.
His hands around his holster, Ivy began.
“Good day, Detective. I—we didn't think that you'd stop by the company,” she said with a polite grin.
“Yeah, I have something to share with... all three of you,” Calvin announced, maintaining his high-end stern demeanor. According to his expertise, he had so many guesses about all three of them, especially Alvin who was pissed, but masked it deftly.
“Do you have a warrant, Detective?” Alvin shot at him, accompanied by a thick frown.
“The law does not restrict me from stopping the company of the deceased while investigations and the case are very open, Mr. Hart. Is there a problem with my visit?” Calvin stated firmly and crossed his arms, shooting Alvin the same gaze.
Alvin smirked and looked away, dropping onto the couch, crossing his legs, splitting his gaze between all three of them, his thoughts climbing on top of another.
“Please, have a seat, Detective,” Raul offered, diluting the tension as Ivy nodded.
“Thanks, but I'm good. I’ll be quick by the way…” Calvin began. “Well, it is no longer a secret that Nitro Group’s finances have been ruined by someone we are yet to find. And in honor of the deceased and his prestigious, we are doing all we can to bring the culprits to book—”
“Or stop fucking painting Nate like the saint here. Or better still, go back to your cubicle and get busy. I don't understand why this is becoming a hard thing when the truth is glaring. Nate is the devil,” Alvin vented, kicking the table in front of him as he panted heavily.

Ivy was scared to her bones, she hadn't seen Alvin in this manner for a long time except that time when he learned that Ivy was going to get married to Nate.
“Mr. Hart, it seems like you have a lot to say. How about I take your statement one more time?” Calvin stated with a bit of sarcasm.
“Detective Calvin, can we talk outside instead?” Ivy opted as Alvin stared at her blankly. He was concerned that she might hate his actions.
“Before then, I have to announce to you all—first hand—that the company’s former accountant who abruptly resigned after Nate’s death has been murdered and the culprit got away with it…” Calvin stated as Raul and Ivy shared surprised gazes while Calvin studied Alvin who was barely shaken. “But not for long,” Calvin added.
“What? You think it's me?!” Alvin snapped as he grabbed he rose to leave. “I’ll wait for you in the car,” Alvin said to Ivy as he turned back to Calvin. “I hope you know what you are doing,” he added and left the office banging the door.
Unknowingly to them, Alvin was just behind the door listening to their conversations.

On the other hand, Ivy sighed in distress. Her mind was debating as she paced from side to side.
“Detective, what is all this? You can’t purposely rile him up to get answers,” She said.
“But he sure has an ounce of guilt. I know my job, Mrs. Hart, I've been in this for decades,” Detective Calvin stated firmly as she scoffed lightly.
“You do? And Nate’s killer hasn't been found?” she scoffed again. “Seriously, why have you come? There's no way you wanted to speak to all three of us,” Ivy pointed, crossing her arms when she halted.
“Just like I mentioned, the accountant was found dead after Mr. Raul’s confrontation about the account,” Calvin explained in a calmer tone.
“Yeah, I confronted the accountant about the accounts so that we could find the root of our problems. I mean, the company is in big debt. I didn't kill the accountant of that's what you're asking...” Raul defensively stated.
“And I'm not passing the blame because we had you investigated. Now the problem is, we know that there has been a secret informant that is within the circle. That person goes three steps ahead of us all and I'm only here to warn you all that the devil is within you all,” Calvin stated. “I advise, if you have information that can speed our investigation, I believe that is all to our advantage,” he added turning to leave.
“You are not suspecting Alvin, are you?” Ivy offhandedly stated as the detective turned to her, meeting her skeptical gaze.
“Why do you think it's him? Did he give you reasons to think so?” Calvin asked her as she let out a small smile.
“Alvin is wild but he wouldn't do any of those things you're suspecting him of doing. And I see what you're doing, Detective, you're getting us on each other’s necks, right? I see!” She looked away.
“Good day, Ivy. You too, Raul!” Calvin said and left.

By the time he got out, Alvin had already left the door and was waiting in the car for Ivy as he assured.

Raul turned to Ivy instantly.
“First, you were given a list of Nate’s acquaintances and your first on the list got killed. And then, I tried to look for a way forward for the company, and then the accountant got killed. Does that ring a bell?” he asked her.
Ivy's eyes rolled, “I know that it’s suspicious and goddamn scary,” she admitted.
“Right. And Calvin said that the person is within our circle—someone constantly under our skin. Calvin made emphasis for a reason! Are you thinking what I'm thinking?” Raul explained again, certainty lacing his gaze while he waited for her response, or rather her conclusion on the matter.
“It's not Alvin, Raul. He wouldn't do such a thing and even if he did, why would he silence them?” Ivy asked with a skeptical gaze.
“You just asked the overdue question, why would he silence them?” Raul asked too. “We have to watch our backs—especially you but I’ll do everything in my power to find the one behind these accounts. Just stay safe,” he said as he walked over to her and embraced her.
“Thank you so much, Raul…” she said.

Everything was beginning to lead to. Alvin and she didn't want to believe it because she believed that he wouldn't go to such extremes without a motive.
And what could be the motive? She wondered.

When Ivy reached the car, she took a deep breath and entered it.
“I'm sorry for how I acted with the detective—”
“I don't need to be sorry every time you fuck up. I need you to be very honest with me, Alvin. I need you to swear to me right now that you have no hand in the accountant’s death or Zoe’s,” she said, turning fully to him, taking his hands in hers—giving them a gentle squeeze.

He sighed and hesitated for a second or two.
“I didn't kill them, Ivy. I swear to you,” he said calmly.
“And did you kill Nate?” she asked one more time but this time, he took his hands from hers gently as he looked away from her gaze.

There was one conclusion at that moment, he killed Nate.

Right?
