Bad package again

Bad package again
“You are here to confess?” Ivy scoffed, “I have a place to be at right now,” Ivy said about to leave as Lana spoke out.
“I know something that you might need—something you need,” she said as Ivy halted.
“Hey!” Ares rubbed her arm sensing that they needed time to speak alone. “I’ll pass by your office much later if I'm less busy because I have a client who should be at my office right now. I'll call to check in though…” he assured as he placed a kiss on her forehead before leaving.

As soon as his car sped away, Lana drew closer to Ivy.
“Please, let's talk…”
“Talk? Maybe I don't want to…” Ivy lashed out.
“Your life and that of your children are in danger—I know what I'm saying,” Lana pressed firmly.
Ivy sighed, she wanted to hear more about Lana’s confession and so she concluded that it was time to give her friend a chance.
“Let's go to the office,” Ivy let out calmly and Lana nodded with a small smile.
They entered Ivy’s car as the chauffeur drove them off.

…
Some minutes later, Ivy and Lana were seated in the office as Ruby walked in.
“I'm very sorry to interrupt ma'am, but a client is coming to see you in the next thirty minutes,” Ruby announced.
“Okay, just set things up. I'll be there soon,” Ivy said as Ruby nodded and walked out. “I’ve limited time. What is it you wanted to say to me?” she asked Lana.
Lana cleared her throat, “I know that by now you've discovered something I've been meaning to tell you for a long time now…” she said. “Nate and I, we used to have an affair before he died and I didn't know how to tell you about—”
“Enough already,” Ivy interjected angrily. “I don't want to hear it. There's no need to tell me after all, he's dead…” Ivy snapped. “You betrayed me, Lana! I thought I had a friend and so you just had to fuck Nate. For what, money? Jealousy?” Ivy barked while her best friend stayed silent.

Ivy rose walking to the wine compartment, poured herself some white wine. She took a sip and stood by the view as Lana slowly walked up to Ivy.

Although washed by guilt and regret, Lana wasn't completely sad about Nate’s death.
“I regret sleeping with your husband but he came to me, Ivy. He had lots to offer and he was pained by something you did to him,” she stated as Ivy spun to face her. Her shock spilled over.
“Did to him?” Ivy repeated and scoffed. “You’ve gotta be kidding me, Lana. And you believed?” she asked.
“Whether or not I believe, isn't there something that you did to Nate?” Lana pressed, crossing her arms.

Ivy’s thoughts whisked back to the paternity result of their children that she discovered over ten years ago.
“Is there something?” Lana asked again.
Ivy straightened up and scoffed.
“So, if Nate told you that I did something to him, was that a valid reason for you to fuck my husband?” Ivy pointed out as Lana recoiled. “Well, you did wrong, you should act like it…” She added.
“Ivy, I feel like shit and I'm deeply sorry, okay? And seriously, I regret that part where it had to be with Nate, but do you have any idea what the dead guy has done to you? The things he has put you through?” Lana pointed out as she flipped her straight hair behind feeling the tension between them.
“How do you mean?” Ivy asked with a profound gaze.
“Nate made shady deals with some very bad people who are coming for you and the kids. I have no idea what or how he traded things with them, but what is coming is bad. There is no remedy for Nitro Groups, Ivy. It's either you sell your cosmetic company to pay their asses and the employees or.. It's your life for it…” Lana said while Ivy tried to absorb the dreadful news. “I'm here because you don't have to suffer this alone. You have no idea what these people can do—it’s not just about paying them, it is more,” Lana added.

Ivy sat down on the nearest couch to gain her composure. It was tiresome having to deal with Nate’s shit over and over again.
It was also hard to believe what others thought about Nate when he's been very good to her. He's been an absolute angel to her.

Who was wrong, Nate or others? She asked herself.

Ivy was left in a dead end.
A Rocky Road. A moment of survival.

“How do I know you're telling the truth, Lana? I mean, you disappeared and chose to reappear for some bloody apology tale that you want me to buy,” Ivy let out truthfully, exhaustion overshadowing her voice.

Lana sighed, “I have a couple of reasons and truly, I want us to go back to being friends. But, most importantly, you deserve to be told the truth. Nate is not an angel, I've always told you.” Lana said as she sat next to Ivy. “He was always to sleep with other women, you even seduced me and badmouthed you. You only had to keep yourself as the perfect wife to cover his tracks, Ivy,” she added. “Okay, I know that Alvin gave you a list of addresses of Nate’s sexual history with them. I helped him get it to convince you even if it meant including myself,” she confessed as Ivy rubbed her face across, still drowning in what felt like a river of pain and disappointment.
“Lana, I was lied to. Everyone lied to me about Nate or maybe I was too blinded by the perfect side of him that he presented to me. Meanwhile, he was just a piece of shit who left me to drown in his mess,” Ivy lamented as tears rolled down her cheeks even if she tried to fight it.
“I know but… we have to do something. There’s a need to find a solution,” Lana opted firmly.
“Yeah, because it's easy to rub into the streets and find them, right?!” Ivy sarcastically said.
“It's a name you have to find, right? Someone to make a truce with, right?” Lana said.
Ivy stared at her, again, shocked that Lana knew more than she had thought.
“You know about that too?” Ivy asked.
“I’ve been working with Alvin for some time, Ivy! I just didn't have the balls to face you,” she explained. “I want to gelo in the search, I could pull a few strings,” Lana assured.
Ivy nodded lightly. She was not sure if she should be angry or thankful to Lana. At least, her friend tried to show her endless support as always.

Someone knocked on the door, snapping them out of their thoughts. Ruby walked in with a white box that had a ribbon tied around it.
“I'm sorry for interrupting again but you have a package. The delivery guy said that I could sign for you because he was in a hurry to do some dispatch around town. I hope you don't mind,” Ruby, ever vibrant and radiant, said with a friendly grin.
“Thanks, honey! Place it on the table, please…” Ivy flashed a smile as Ruby did as she was told.
When Ruby left, Lana asked.
“Expecting someone? Or is that pretty guy from earlier?” she teased.
“I have no idea, but it could be Ares…” Ivy smiled, blushing already. “He made me breakfast this morning and so… it had to be him, right?!” Ivy said as Lana chuckled.
“Let’s find out,” Lana charged as they grabbed the box, feeling the odd weight. “Oh, maybe a jewelry box or cake?” Lana guessed as Ivy untied the ribbon.

As soon as they opened, they saw the shock of their lives oozing out the stench of fresh, thick blood with a note over it that said;

‘STOP LOOKING FOR WHAT COULD KILL YOU’

The ladies gasped in fear and terror, unable to yell, stung by shock.
