Chapter 84:

Alpha Silas’ pov.

“Axel! Let me out of here!” I banged on the metal bars. He didn't even spare me a look, he was busy addressing his stupid soldiers while sitting on my throne.

“Axel!!” I called out even louder and he snapped his neck to my direction, his eyes burning with rage.

“Stop yelling my name, old man! I owe you nothing!” He fired, his eyes blazing like orbs of fire. I growled, a stern look on my face as I stared back at me. The urge to strangle him is strong, but I'm stuck here.

“If you're so strong and brave, why do you keep me locked up in here? Why not let me out and let's face each other. You won't do that because you're nothing but a coward!” I yelled at him, hitting the bars with all my strength but he simply chuckled and shook his head.

“You can't fool me with that Silas, I am no longer the Axel that you used to manipulate, you cunning wolf!” He fired, turning around to face his soldiers again.

“Let me out and let's fight like men!” I continued to scream but he paid no attention to me which triggered my rage. Sin was equally fighting to be let out but I didn't want to make things worse by letting him out.

“Alpha Silas.” I heard Myers call out to me and I turned to look at him, relieved that he was awake and fine. He has been unconscious for hours, I thought he was dead even.

“Myers, thank the goddess you're alive!”

“What's happening? Why have we been confined to cages?” He questioned.

“Axel has taken over the pack, he has crowned himself Alpha and he hasn't stopped gloating about it.” I sighed and he looked over my shoulders.

“Yes, I can see that. Sire, we have to get out of here.” He started to kick the bars in a bid to take them out but they weren't budging. It was clear that Axel had fortified the cages, making it almost impossible for us to get out.

He knows of how powerful I am, which is the reason for the fortification. He has rendered me powerless and it sucks that I can't do anything to save my people that he has enslaved.

“What do we do now? We can't remain here.” Myers sighed, giving up on escaping.

“I think I'll have to let Sin out.” I bit my lip.

“What? You can't do that! You know very well that your wolf is… unstable. If you let him out, things might get worse. What if another accident happens, like with Luna Freya.” He explained and I rubbed my eyes tiredly.

“I know Myers, don't remind me. But do we really have a choice at this point?” I questioned.

“I'll shift, I'll burst us out, don't bother.”

“None of you will be shifting.” Axel walked up to us, standing in front of the cages. A sly grin was playing across his lips, and he looked extremely proud of everything he had achieved.

An old man walked up to him, carrying a tray which was covered with a towel. I fixed my eyes on the tray, trying to make out its content. He handed the tray to Axel who threw off the towel, revealing two syringes.

“Do you know what this is?” He looked excited, making me believe that whatever was in those syringes would be bad for me.

“This is the very thing that will stop you from ever standing against me again. You marked your own ruin when you decided to kill my mother, so now it's time to pay. It's time for you to feel the pain I felt.” He growled, raising one of the syringes and walking over to Myers.

“Axel! Don't you fucking hurt him! Don't!” I yelled, growling and violently pulling on the metal bars with the last of my strength. He did not even spare me a look and sunk the syringe into Myers's neck.

Myers let out a loud screech, his veins almost popping out of his neck as he arched his back. His eyes were bulging out of the sockets and his screams became deafening. I almost went insane, listening to his screams, he was in excruciating pain and I couldn't help him.

“Music to my ears!” Axel laughed after he got rid of the empty syringe. He walked over and grabbed the second syringe, walking over to me.

I looked over at Myers and saw him lying helplessly on the cage floor, weak and still in pain. I've never seen him so vulnerable, it broke my heart, I was at the verge of tears.

Myers is not just my beta, he is my best friend, my only friend. The only one in my pack who actually understands me and my reasons for doing things. Watching him in that state, shattered me completely, just like that day I lost my Luna.

“What did you do to him, you monster!?” I yelled at Axel who was now standing right next to me, holding the syringe up for me to see.

“Liquid silver.”

My jaw dropped in shock at his response. For a moment, I could not breathe, my heart had fallen into my stomach.

“Are.. Are you insane!? Are you planning to kill him!?”

“Of course, that is my aim. You see, I only gave him a tiny little dose of it. Three more doses, and that will be the end of him.” He laughed maniacally.

“He doesn't deserve this! Your fight is with me!” I snapped and he laughed again.

“The fault is his as much as it's yours. He did not stop you when you killed my mother!” Axel screamed at the top of his voice, and I swear I could feel his hurt, his pain. Even his eyes reflected it, but I will not look at him with pity because he is pure evil.

“You did not believe me years ago, and I know you won't believe me today either. But you cannot change the truth Axel, I did not kill your mother on purpose! For goodness sake, she was also my wife, my Luna!”

“Oh be quiet!” He snapped, his face squeezing in rage.

“You murdered her! My mother was the only one who supported me, and you knew that. You thought I was being rebellious and you accused her of encouraging me. You killed her because you thought it would stop my plans! You thought killing the only person that had my back would render me weak!”

He blinked rapidly, and then let out a sigh.

“My mother was an angel, but you snatched her from me.”

“Axel, I did not kill your mother.”

“Shut the fuck up!” He roared.

“Your words mean nothing to me! I vowed to destroy everything you hold dear and destroy you and until your last breath, I will not stop. Only when you breathe your last, will my vengeance be complete.” He smirked, bringing the syringe closer to me.

“Axel.. please.”

“Oh, you know how to plead?” He laughed and I sighed, moving back. I don't deserve this, I have done a lot of bad things in my life, but I don't deserve this.

“Instead of whining, let me out and let's finish this motherfucker!” Sin growled, he was ferocious.

“Don't worry, It doesn't hurt that much.”

He dug into my skin with the syringe, letting the contents get into my blood stream. My eyes dilated, a loud shriek escaping my lungs.
