Chapter 12

“Sir, Our men are almost ready. Woodlei has been preparing his men very quickly, also yangmart is getting more stronger.” Said Mr. Gik he stood behind Zeke.

Zeke looked outside the window. He stood facing the wall. “Get our men trained more speedily, Mr. Gik we don’t have so much time. We need to take the first step.” Zeke answered.

“Won’t it be a little too risky if we attack them first, Sir?” the man ask , “We should wait a litt–”

“No. We’ll be attacking them first. We can’t be taking too much time trying to understand their strategy. We need to plan and attack sooner than them.” Zeke seriously said making the man to bow at him without hesitations.

“We’ll do the exact, Sir.” He’s answered then suddenly the door was knocked by someone making Zeke to turn back.

“Come in.” Zeke said. Mr. Gik still stood aside looking at who would come inside.

Zeke’s guard walked inside with Mr. Lance and he bowed then left right after.

“So what did you want to talk about, Mr. Lee?” Mr. Lance said while looking at Zeke with a amused face.

Zeke walked closer to him as Mr. Gik stood firmly behind him.

“I cut off the deal with you.” Zeke directly said making a tightly fist as he remembered how Danica cried telling him about the incident, “We’re not gonna work anymore.” He added straight forward.

“What?” Mr. Lance ask in disbelief looking at Zeke with slight confusion as he narrowed his eyes.

“You heard me right, Mr. Lance.” Zeke confidently said with a straight face.

“You’re making a mistake, Zeke.” Mr. Lance gritting his teeth making Zeke to chortle.

“Oh, I don’t think so.” Zeke answered confidently in a deep voice brushing off the fake dust off of his shoulder as he smirked right after and looked into his eyes.

Mr. Lance clenched his jaw. He looked at Zeke, slightly backing away from him, “You’re gonna regret this, young boy.” He respond to Zeke before walking out as he practically ran out of the room.

“Keep an eye on him, Mr. Gik.” Zeke whispered when he saw the door closing

Mr. Gik nodded his head in response and walked out too before bowing to Zeke.

Zeke took his stuff before going back to his home. He didn’t want Danica to be left alone for too long.

Meanwhile, Danica sat in their room as usual playing with their parrot, “You make me happy..” She said pecking the parrots little tummy.

Danica giggle when the parrot keep on repeating on what she is saying.

“I love you.” Danica laugh while saying those things again ang again.

“I love you.” The parrot started again.

Danica smiled as she felt happiness. ‘maybe it wasn’t too hard to be happy’ She thought to herself.

Being someone who had been sad usually, it was new for her to feel something positive inside her. She felt hopes inside her. Hopes of her living a good life with Zeke. She’s happy the there’s a little parrot she can play with if she felt bored.

Though she was scared deep inside. “What if the bubble pop?” She questioned to herself as she sighed a little. For her it was something too good. Too good that she couldn’t even dream of it.

The door was suddenly knocked. Danica immediately sent the parrot back in it’s cage.

Danica looked at the door, “Yes?” She answered while walking to open the door.

“Mrs. Lee, Sir called for you. He is in his office room.” She heard the guard said.

Danica politely smiled at him and nodded her head.

“Oh, okay.” She replied.

The guard nodded and bowed. She walked out of the room and took steps to Zeke’s office room. The guard walked back to guarding the house.

Knocking on the door, she heard a ‘come in’ from inside. She walked and open the door. She found Zeke was sitting on his chair as usual working on and checking some files kept on the table.

He looked up to find Danica who is now standing there quietly in front of him. Zeke cleared his throat before speaking, “You can take a seat.” He said awkwardly.

“I broke the deal with that man.. He isn’t gonna be around anymore.” Zeke informed Danica about with Mr. Lance.

He saw Danica all settled on the couch beside the table. He turned the chair to her, facing her. Danica looked at him blinking her eyes, “Oh. Uhm.. Okay.” She answered softly.

Zeke just nodded at her. “Did you have your lunch?” he asked.

Danica shook her head slightly making Zeke to look at her seriously.

“And why is that?” He asked raising one of his brow while Danica just looked down hesitantly.

“Uhmm.. C-Can we go out to have dinner t-tonight?” Danica asked nervously, “I haven’t been out in so long.” She added faintly as her voice coming out so soft like a bird.

Zeke sighed looking at her before turning the chair back in front of the table, “Okay.” He replied.

Danica looked at him in surprise. “Really?” she ask to make it sure.

Zeke once again cleared his throat, trying to hide his happiness as he saw her smiling so beautifully.

“Yes, but go have your lunch for now. Then I’ll take you out for dinner in evening.” He said typing something on his computer.

Danica smiled. She looked at him without any fear, “Thank you.” She replied happily. Zeke just nod in response.

“What do you want to have for lunch?” Danica asked while smiling at him.

Zeke stopped his hands and looked at her with almost soft eyes as he heard her question. It was the first time ever she had asked him such a wifey question. Zeke blinked his eyes questioning himself if everything was close to being normal between them. “Anything you’d make.” He answer, immediately looking away embarrassingly.

Danica smiled before nodding her head, “Okay.” She once smile at Zeke then walking out to the kitchen. Zeke gazed at her disappearing figure. He smiled letting out a short chuckle before diving back into the work.

DANICA POV

We were currently on a walk. Surprisingly Zeke agreed when I asked him if we could also walk for sometime. Though his men were with us throughout the whole time. Even his and my bodyguards. He thinks I don’t know but I saw them. But I didn’t say anything. He is only doing this for our safety and I understand.

At least he is being generous with me after all. We were done eating our dinner and though it was a little awkward but it’s okay. I could see his efforts of not making it awkward.

It all felt normal. I wonder if things could go like this. I have been starting to not get scared of Zeke these days. He is really.. gentle and nice with me.

I suddenly felt Zeke’s hand brush against mine as I looked down and up at him to see him awkwardly clearing his throat. I smiled and continued walking. It was really beautiful. The place had trees on both of its side. It made look everything beauty.

I love nature. It makes me happy. I suddenly stopped and looked down as I saw a little girl crying making me to frown. I walked never to it. Zeke also stopped near me as he saw me crouching down.

“What’s wrong, sweetie?” I ask the girl. I took her hands off her eyes and wiped her tears using my hander chiefs.

“Mommy, told me she’ll be back after getting me an ice cream but I’m alone.” The girl cried while answering my questions. I awed at her and caressed her head.

“Why feeling alone, uhm? I’ll wait here with you for your Mom, okay? Don’t cry sweetie.” I tried to make her feel safe with me. I smiled at her while she’s nodding and pouted.

I hold her hands and fixing her hair. She’s stop crying and I noticed she look at Zeke.

“Is h-he your friend?” She asked while wiping her tears. I smiled at her question. She looks 5 years old.

Oh that man isn’t someone you can easily be friends with. I want to laugh as what I my mind said.

“No, sweetie. He is my husband.” I faced Zeke but I noticed he look away.

“Oh.. do you have babies? Y-you know I want to have a little brother. Mom, told me I’ll be happy.”

I heard Zeke cough. Maybe he didn’t even think that the girl would ask such things. I smiled awkwardly at her before speaking as she kept looking at me with her doe eyes.

“No. We don’t have one.” I replied in a low voice. I hope Zeke isn’t hear. It feels awkward.

“Oh, why? Mommy said people have kids when they get married.” The little girl said. I found out she’s still looking at Zeke, she probably wants to talk to him. Is he should say something?

“No, sweetie. People have kids when they are ready to have kids.” I replied to the girl and smiled.

I hope somehow she stop asking about us. I felt relief when she nodded at me.

“Baby Gian!” A woman came running to us, the little girl looked at her. It is probably her mom.

“Mommy!!” She shout running to the woman.

She took the ice cream from her hand, “Mom, I met someone. They are so nice. They helped me.”

I smiled at her as she started eating her ice cream. Looking up at her Mother I found her smiling at us, “Thank you so much for r taking care of her.” The little girl’s mother said.

“No problem, ma’am. She is so adorable girl.” I giggled, the woman just smiled.

“Mommy, big sis doesn’t have kids. She’s with her husband.”

I felt happy when she said big sis but also embarrassed about the baby she said.

“It’s okay, Gian. She will have them soon.” Her mother explained and she just forcefully smile at me as I smiled awkwardly.

The little girl named Gian looked at Zeke. She took small steps to him and tugged on his blazer making him to look down. Zeke bend down, listening to her as smiled seeing him.

“Yes?” Zeke ask.

“You’re really handsome… W-When I grow beautiful like big sis, I’ll also marry someone like you.” She said shyly. Her mother laughed listening to her.

Giggled slightly, I saw Zeke caressing her cheeks, “You should definitely do that, princess.” Zeke replied, slightly smiling.

She walked back to her mother. She waved her hand to us and walked away with her mother.

“Should we go back home now?” Zeke ask me then I immediately nodded awkwardly.

He took me back to the car and drove back to home. Maybe everything can be normal for us.
