One Hundred & Sixteen

One Hundred & Sixteen
The Langston villa was darker than usual.
The curtains were closed, the guards looked nervous, and the air felt heavy.… like the calm before a storm.

Victor, paced the room like a man running out of time. His empire was falling apart. Every phone call brought bad news, and every ally was turning their back.

Across the room sat Luciano De Luca, bruised and restless. His arm was still wrapped in bandages.…  a reminder of his last meeting with Dante. Dante had caught him, beaten him, and then let him go empty and powerless. No money, no name, no legacy.

Luciano couldn’t get over the fact that everything had crumbled. All he had built for years. All that his father and grandfather had worked for... All gone.

Victor slammed his hand on the desk, making the lamp shake.

“Do you have any idea what you’ve done, Luciano?” he barked. “You and that stupid girl Sofia ruined everything. First Clara, then Corvo  and now Sofia’s confession has the streets on fire!”

Luciano glared back. “Don’t act all  innocent, Victor. You used Elena. Your duaghter or she isn't yours because... You stole her! You destroyed everything. You’re no better than any of us.”

Victor’s jaw tightened. “Watch your mouth. I built this world while you were still learning how to pull a trigger.”

Luciano let out a bitter laugh. “And look where that got you. You’ve got Dante and the Ravanelli brothers coming for your head… Our heads. The De Lucas name is done for. The Langstons are next. You think he’ll stop after Sofia?”

Victor didn’t answer. He just stared out the window, the city lights flickering like dying embers.
Then he said, quietly but firmly, “We’re leaving. Tonight.”

Luciano frowned. “Leaving?  To Where?”

Victor pressed a small button under his desk. A hidden wall panel slid open, revealing a steel safe filled with stacks of money, gold bars, passports, and a gun.

Luciano’s eyes widened. “You planned this.”

Victor gave a cold smile. “Always have a way out. That’s why I’ve lasted this long.”

Luciano stood. “Fine. But if this doesn’t work…”

“It will,” Victor snapped. “There’s a jet waiting at the private hangar outside the city. Before sunrise, we’ll be gone. Let Dante chase shadows.”

They walked through the back hallway, the sound of their footsteps echoing.
The guards they passed didn’t meet Victor’s eyes. The silence felt wrong.
Too quiet. Too still.

Then came the sound.… low at first, then louder.
Engines. More than one.

Victor froze. “That’s not my convoy,” he muttered.

Luciano’s face went pale. “It’s him.”

Before Victor could respond, the back doors of the villa burst open.
The crash of wood and glass filled the air. Headlights cut through the darkness as men in black masks stormed in... fast, armed, and silent.

Luciano stumbled back, shouting, “No! Not again!”

A tall man stepped in behind them, calm and collected.

Nico.

“Mr. Langston,” Nico said coolly, “the boss wants a word.”

Victor reached for his gun, but Nico’s men were quicker. One kicked it out of his hand, another slammed him against the wall. Luciano tried to run, but two men grabbed him and pinned him down.

“Tell Dante I’m done!” Luciano yelled, fighting them. “I gave him everything!”

Nico knelt beside him. “That's for him to decide Mr De Luca.”

Victor growled, “You think this will scare me? I’ve faced worse.”

Nico gave a small, cold smile. “Not him…  like this, you haven’t.”

He turned to his men. “Take them.”

They dragged Victor and Luciano out through the broken door.
Outside, black SUVs waited with engines running.
Luciano struggled and shouted, “He’s going to kill us both! You don’t understand!”

Victor didn’t say a word. For the first time, his face showed fear.
He knew Dante wasn’t a man who made threats. He made promises.

Nico lit a cigarette as the men shoved the two captives into the cars. Smoke curled in the night air as he looked back at the villa.…once a symbol of power, now broken and silent.

He took a drag, exhaled slowly, and said,
“Let’s go. The boss is  waiting.”

The convoy rolled into the darkness, carrying Victor Langston and Luciano De Luca... two fallen men heading straight into Dante's hands.

The hunt was over.
The trap had closed.
And judgment was coming.

The air inside the old warehouse was damp and heavy.
The sound of dripping water echoed through the silence.
Chains hung from steel beams. A single light flickered above two metal chairs bolted to the floor.

Luciano sat in one of them...  his face bruised, shirt torn, wrists tied behind him.
Victor Langston sat a few feet away, his hands bound, fear already written across his face.

The door opened.
Heavy footsteps echoed on the floor.

Dante walked in... calm, steady, and dangerous. His eyes were unreadable, his face clean and cold. Behind him, Nico and two guards followed, silent as shadows.

Luciano swallowed hard. His voice broke.
“Dante… please… listen to me. It’s not what you think.”

Dante said nothing.
He walked slowly around him, his eyes fixed like a wolf circling its prey. Then, he stopped in front of him... close enough for Luciano to feel his breath.

“I let you go,” Dante said quietly. His tone was low, steady, but full of poison. “Twice. I gave you a chance to walk away and stay out of my way. But you didn’t.”

Luciano’s chest rose and fell. “We weren’t plotting, I swear,” he said quickly. “We wanted to leave. I wouldn't dare do anything against you! It was Victor’s idea…. he said we could take what we had left and run. I didn’t want any part of it!”

Victor’s head snapped toward him. “You lying coward….!”

Dante raised his hand and silence filled the room instantly.

“Run?” Dante repeated, almost amused. “You think after all you've done to me, you could run?”

Luciano shook his head fast. “I already paid my part. It's Victor's turn deal with him.  He kidnapped your wife... And even tried to kill her.”

Dante’s expression didn’t change. His eyes only darkened.

“You’re saying, I should let you go and deal with just Victor…” he said softly, “I should

Luciano nodded desperately. “Yes! I beg of you…

Dante stared at him for a long moment, silent.
Then he leaned closer, his voice quiet but cutting like a knife.

“You think you can give orders?” he whispered. “Because I let you go twice. You must be a joker.”

Victor tried to speak, voice trembling. “You’re not a god, Dante…. ”

The sound of Dante’s fist slamming into the wall beside Victor’s head silenced him instantly.
The man didn’t even flinch. He just looked at Victor, his jaw tight.

“No,” Dante said. “I’m worse.”

He turned back to Luciano. The older man was shaking now, tears pooling in his eyes.

“Please,” Luciano said, voice cracking. “I have nothing left. Please Dante… spare me..”

For a second, Dante said nothing. Then his lips curved into something faint...  not quite a smile.

“You had your chance,” Dante said softly. “Twice.”

Luciano’s eyes widened in horror. “No, Dante….wait…”

The gun went off.

One clean shot.
Luciano’s body went still, head slumping forward, blood dripping onto the floor.

Victor screamed, jerking against his ropes, his voice echoing through the empty warehouse.
“You’re insane! You killed him… You devil.”

Dante turned to him slowly, gun still warm in his hand.

“You tried to do the same to my wife and you also killed Corvo” he said simply.

Victor shook his head, terrified. “ That was Sofia, you bastard! You’ll never get away with this!”

Dante stepped close, his voice dropping to a whisper.

“I already have.”

He handed the gun to Nico and brushed a drop of blood off his sleeve.

“Clean it up,” he said. “And keep Langston alive. He still has a story to tell.”

As Dante turned to leave, Victor shouted after him, his voice shaking. “You’ll regret this…!”

Dante stopped at the door, looked back with cold eyes, and said quietly, “I'll regret nothing.”

Then he walked out into the rain, the echo of the gunshot still hanging in the air...  leaving behind a dead man, a broken one, and the beginning of the end for them all.
