Chapter 212

Chapter 212
SNEAK PEEK OF "THE MAFIAS OBSESSION".

CHAPTER ONE

ALEC NISSANDRO

The night was calm for every ordinary man. But I haven’t been ordinary since the day my father bled out in front of me.

“Why won't you permit us to use your cargo in transporting our goods?” Petrov’s voice sliced through the room, laced with agitation.

I kept my expression neutral, even though every nerve in my body begged for violence.
This bastard. This lying, snake-hearted bastard is the reason my father is dead.

I had inherited everything. His empire, his enemies, his unfinished business. But I won’t leave anything undone.

“I told you,” I said slowly, my voice like a blade through glass, “I will never do business with you, especially not your filthy, illegal trade.”

Petrov’s eyes narrowed. “But your father…”

“My father is dead,” I snapped, rising from my seat. “Dead because he trusted you but . I'm the mafia head now. And I say no.”

“You're not fit for this business,” he growled, fists clenching at his sides.

I moved before I could think, grabbing him by the collar. The chair scraped violently behind me. His hand darted toward his jacket but I was faster. I twisted his wrist back until he gasped, and then I had his gun.

I pressed the muzzle to his skull, fury thundering through me.

“I should put a bullet through your skull.”

Guns were drawn, his men, mine. I took a deep breath, it was a breath away from a bloodbath, that was something that I didn't want, at least not right now.

So I didn’t pull the trigger. Not yet. Petrov had something I needed. And I never kill before collecting what's mine.

From the corner of my eye, I saw movement. One of his men was on the second floor, aiming.

I twisted just in time. The bullet ripped into my shoulder and another sank into my thigh. I stumbled, rage blurred by pain. Petrov moved fast, kicking the gun from my hand. He fired, but I dropped immediately and the shots missed by inches.

To my chagrin, more of his men swarmed in and then it hit me, this was a setup.

The rat had planned this from the start kill me if I didn’t give in.

“Son of a bitch,” I hissed.

My men returned fire, covering me as I escaped through the back. My body was burning, slick with blood, vision swimming.

I will make this bastard pay.

I could hear the sirens in the distance. Police. Too late and always useless.

Petrov’s men were hunting me, desperate to finish the job before my reinforcements arrived.

I stayed low, slipping through the shadows, but every step dragged more pain through my leg.

My knees buckled under me, and the world tilted sideways. I crashed to the ground with a groan, the tarred ground scraping my palms as black spots danced in my vision. Blood soaked through my sleeve, warm and sticky against my skin.

I don’t know how long I lay there bleeding, darkness danced before my eyes and I fought it.

Then soft footsteps. A presence. Then a voice.

“Sir… are you okay?”

I blinked. A girl. No a woman. Young, but not fragile. She knelt beside me, her eyes large and clear like sunlight on water. Her face glowed like something from another world. Her scent was warm. Soft. Innocent.

I thought for a second I had died. That I’d slipped into heaven. But no, hell had my name engraved in stone. And yet she felt like salvation.

“Oh my God,” she whispered. “You're bleeding badly.”

She fumbled into her bag and pulled out a bandage. Her fingers trembled as she wrapped my arm, her brows furrowed in concentration.

Was she scared? No. She was worried. For me.

No one worries for me. Not anymore.

Her touch was light, careful. And I... I couldn’t stop looking at her.

“This blood…” she muttered. “What the hell happened? You need a hospital.”

Her lips moved, forming words I barely registered. All I could do was watch fascinated. They looked soft, too soft for someone like me. The urge to taste her hit me like a wave. Raw. Reckless. Irresistible.

And then I moved.

I grabbed her, ignoring the screaming pain, and pulled her to me. I pressed my mouth to hers.

She froze. Then shoved me back, her palm striking my cheek with a sharp smack.

“You’re insane!” she shouted, leaping to her feet.

“I love you,” I whispered. The words fell from my mouth like truth I’d always known.

She blinked, shocked. “Your injury must’ve messed with your brain.”

“If you didn’t love me, why did you help me?” I asked.

Her eyes flared. “I’m a nurse. You were dying. That’s all. I helped you because it’s what I’m trained to do.”

She turned to leave.

Just then, headlights cut through the alley. My men.

“Boss, we’re sorry we’re late,” Niko said, rushing toward me.

The woman turned sharply. “He’s your boss? Good. Get him to a damn hospital, he’s messed up.”

Niko’s jaw clenched. “How dare you talk to him like that?”

“Enough,” I growled, raising a hand.

I watched her walk away.

Each step she took felt like she was dragging pieces of me with her. I didn’t know her name. But I knew I needed her.

I couldn’t breathe. Couldn’t think straight.

She had to be mine. She didn’t get to leave.

I murmured, “Too late, sweetheart. I’ve fallen in love with you. You belong to me now.”

I turned to Niko. “Find out everything about her. I want her full name, address, family, everything. I want answers by morning.”

“Yes, boss.”

As they helped me into the car, all I could think about was her voice, her eyes, her lips. That gentle touch.

She had saved me.

Now I would claim her.
