Twenty Nine
ENZO —-

I opened my eyes to a dark environment as I try to recognize my surroundings but one thing I was sure of was that I wasn't at the warehouse anymore.

"Rodrigo!!!" I yelled, battling with the chair I was tied on but I clearly wasn't going anywhere and would just cause more injury for myself.

Rodrigo smirked as he stepped closer to me, his eyes filled with vengeful satisfaction. "Ah, Enzo Ferrari. It seems our paths have crossed once again. It's time for you to pay for what you did to my men that day."

I gritted my teeth, refusing to show any signs of fear. "Isabella and Sofia, where are they? What have you done to them?"

Rodrigo chuckled darkly. "Oh, they're safe, for now. But that can change depending on your cooperation."

I clenched my fists, the urge to break free and attack Rodrigo overwhelming me. But I knew that wouldn't help me find Isabella and Sofia. I had to remain calm and collected.

"What do you want, Rodrigo?" I asked, my voice laced with a mix of defiance and desperation.

Rodrigo leaned in closer, his voice dripping with malice. "I want control. I want power. And I want you to suffer."

His words sent a chill down my spine, but I refused to let fear consume me. "You won't win, Rodrigo," I said, my tone as defiant as ever. "I will find a way to get out of here, and when I do, I'll make sure you pay for every single thing you've done."

Rodrigo laughed, a sinister sound that echoed through the room. "You think you can defeat me? You're just a small man with delusions of grandeur. But I'm going to enjoy watching you squirm."

He turned and walked away, leaving me alone in the darkness. My mind raced with thoughts of how to escape, how to rescue Isabella and Sofia from Rodrigo's clutches. But I couldn't let panic take over. I had to stay focused. I had to find a way out.

As the hours turned into days, I endured relentless questioning and torture at the hands of Rodrigo and his henchmen. But I refused to break. I refused to give up hope.

And then, one night, as I lay on the cold, hard ground, bruised and battered, a glimmer of hope appeared. I overheard whispered conversations between Rodrigo and his men about a secret location, a hidden facility where he kept Isabella and Sofia.

With this new information, a surge of determination filled me. I had a lead. I had a chance to bring them back.

I bided my time, waiting for the perfect moment to make my move. And when it finally came, I fought with every ounce of strength and skill I had left. I took down Rodrigo's men one by one, using the element of surprise to my advantage.

Finally, I stood alone in the darkness, victorious but weary. The room was filled with the sound of silence, broken only by my labored breathing. I searched the area for any sign of Isabella and Sofia, my heart pounding with a mix of hope and fear.

And then, I heard it. The faint sound of a whimper. It was Sofia. I followed the sound, my heart racing with anticipation. And there, tucked away in a hidden room, I found them.

Isabella and Sofia were battered and scared, but their eyes lit up with relief as they saw me. I rushed to untie them, holding them close, tears streaming down my face.

"We're going to get out of here," I whispered, my voice filled with determination and love. "I promise."

The room filled with the heavy silence of anticipation as I surveyed the area, my breath still ragged from the intense fight with Rodrigo's men. I could feel the weight of the world upon my shoulders, knowing that Isabella and Sofia's lives depended on our successful escape from this hidden facility.

I carefully untied Isabella first, her hands trembling in mine as she tried to maintain her composure. Her eyes met mine, and in that instant, I saw a mixture of fear, relief, and determination.

"We're going to get out of here, Isabella," I whispered, my voice filled with conviction. "You and Sofia are going to be safe."

She nodded, her grip on my hand tightening, finding solace in our shared determination. Sofia whimpered softly, her small body still trembling from the trauma she had endured. I moved to untie her, my hands gentle in their urgency.

As soon as Sofia's restraints were removed, I scooped her up into my arms, holding her close to my chest. Her innocent eyes met mine, and I made a silent promise to protect her, to keep her safe from harm.

With Isabella and Sofia beside me, we crept out of the hidden room, our steps as soft as a whisper. The facility was vast and complicated, its halls cloaked in shadows. Every creak of the floor beneath us sent shivers down my spine, knowing that any misstep could alert Rodrigo's men to our presence.

The tension in the air was noticeable, and every nerve in my body was electrified with the need to move quickly, quietly, and efficiently. We had to find a way out, a weak spot in Rodrigo's fortress.

As we steered through the dimly lit corridors, I could hear distant voices and echoing footsteps. The facility was not as deserted as I had hoped, and time was against us. We ducked into doors and nooks, hiding every time we sensed a presence drawing near. The fear of being discovered pressed in on us, threatening to unravel our carefully constructed plan.

Finally, we reached a corridor that seemed less heavily guarded, and I motioned for Isabella and Sofia to stay close behind me as we moved with renewed haste. The faint sound of a door opening drifted towards us, and I knew we were running out of time.

We rounded a corner, and there, before us, was the exit door—the gateway to our freedom. But as I reached for the handle, my heart sank. It was locked.

Panic threatened to engulf me as I searched frantically for another way out. The distant sound of approaching footsteps grew louder, closer. The fates seemed to conspire against us, but I refused to give up hope.

With a surge of adrenaline, I spotted a small vent in the ceiling. It was our only chance. Ignoring the pain and fatigue that threatened to consume me, I boosted Isabella and Sofia up, instructing them to crawl through the narrow opening.

One by one, we maneuvered our way through the cramped space, Isabella leading the way with Sofia tucked securely in her arms. The air grew tight, and the walls seemed to close in on us, but our determination propelled us forward.

As we emerged from the vent, gasping for breath, we found ourselves in an unfamiliar area—a control room overlooking the facility. The sight before us took my breath away.

Screens flickered with images of Rodrigo's men frantically searching for us. Alarms blared, and chaos reigned below. It was our chance to strike back, to turn the tables on Rodrigo and his reign of terror.

With newfound determination, I scanned the control panel, searching for a way to disable the security systems. It took precious seconds, but finally, I discovered the override switch. With a flick of a lever, the facility plunged into darkness, shrouding our escape in confusion.

Through the chaos, Isabella and I guided Sofia towards a secondary exit. The element of surprise was on our side, and we took advantage of the ensuing pandemonium to slip away unnoticed.

We burst through the exit door, a gust of freedom washing over us. The night air filled my lungs as relief flooded through my veins. We were finally free.

As we disappeared into the surrounding darkness, the sound of sirens wailed in the distance, reminding us that our fight was far from over. But in that moment, as Isabella, Sofia, and I clasped hands, I knew that together, we would face whatever challenges lay ahead. And we would emerge victorious.

Because love, determination, and the indomitable spirit of a family united were forces that could conquer even the darkest of nightmares.

"Enzo," Isabella called as we ran down the quiet path making me stop with Sofia already fast asleep.

"What's wrong?" I asked turning around to face her as she stays in the same position with a pale look.

"Isabella, what's wrong?" I asked, slowly moving closer to her.

"What if it was nothing but a plan?" She asked, making me feel suspicious.

"Isabella!!!" I yelled and just then she fell to the ground, with Sofia in my hands I rushed towards Isabella trying to wake her up but she seemed stiff.

"You can't run away Enzo." I heard from behind me making me angry.

"Rodrigo, when would you stop all this. You have totured me what else would you possibly want from me?" I questioned still holding Sofia tightly, praying that Alex would be fast to locate me.

"Take them back." He ordered as his men nod in response and slowly walked up to us while a van came with speed toward us.

I smiled when I saw Alex through the van, I tried to pick Isabella up but his men starts shooting as I hand over Sofia to Alex and try to get back to Isabella but the gunshots were getting too much and I got shot on my leg,

"Enzo, you can't save her. We would come back for her!!" Alex yelled while trying to shoot back at Rodrigo's men, but I clearly wasn't ready to lose Isabella and let her stay one second away from me and get tortured by Rodrigo.

"Let's go Enzo, we would come back for her." Alex said to me as I stared at Isabella being lifted by Rodrigo as he took her away making me even more bitter.

I sat alone in the dark, the weight of my decision heavy on my shoulders. Leaving Isabella behind was the hardest thing I had ever done. But I knew deep down that it was the only choice I had in that moment. I couldn't risk Sofia's safety or my own by trying to fight against Rodrigo and his men.

As the van sped away, tears streamed down my face. Isabella's image haunted my mind, her pale face and limp body etched into my memory. I prayed that she would be safe, that somehow, she would find a way to escape and come back to us.

But for now, I had to focus on Sofia. She clung to Alex, her tears staining his shirt as she cried out for her mother. It broke my heart to see her in such pain, her innocent eyes filled with confusion and fear.

I held her close, trying my best to comfort her, but her cries only grew louder. "I want Mommy! I want my mommy!" she wailed, her tiny voice filled with desperation.

I looked at Alex, a mix of frustration and helplessness in my eyes. "What do I do? How do I make her stop?"

Alex sighed, his grip on Sofia tightening. "Enzo, she's scared and confused. She's lost her mother, her sense of security. It's going to take time for her to adjust."

I nodded, understanding his words, but unable to shake off the heaviness in my heart. Sofia's cries tore at my soul, a constant reminder of what we had lost.

As we arrived back at the mansion, I immediately called for increased security. I needed to ensure that Sofia and I would be safe from any threats while we waited for the right time to go back for Isabella. The mansion became a fortress, with guards stationed at every corner. No one was getting in without my permission.

Minutes turned into hours, and Sofia's cries for her mother showed no signs of subsiding.
