ENZO —-
"No, Emma, it's not what you think. Isabella is my new secretary, and we were just discussing some work-related matters."
Emma glanced between us, a hint of skepticism in her eyes. "I see. Well, if you need anything, Mr. Enzo, just let me know and I was also curious about what my new position would be." She asked, her gaze not leaving Isabella.
"Of course you would still be a secretary but not for me, you would work with Miguel as his new secretary ". I said to her as she nods with a wide smile on her face as she turned around to leave the room.
As she left the room, the weight of the situation settled upon us. Isabella and I exchanged a nervous glance, both unsure of how to proceed.
"I...I should go," Isabella finally said, her voice barely above a whisper.
I nodded, understanding the need for distance in that moment. "Yeah, I think that's best."
Reluctantly, she turned and walked towards the door, stopping just before leaving. "Enzo, I don't want things to be awkward between us. We should talk about what just happened."
I swallowed hard, my mind swirling with conflicting emotions. "I agree. We need to figure out what this means for us, especially considering everything else that's going on."
Isabella nodded, her expression a mix of determination and uncertainty. "Let's talk tonight, after Sofia goes to bed. We need to address this and figure out where we stand."
I agreed, knowing that it was essential to have an open and honest conversation. "Tonight it is. We owe it to ourselves and to Sofia."
With that, Isabella left the room, leaving me alone with my thoughts. As I reflected on the unexpected turn of events, I couldn't deny the intense connection I felt with Isabella. But there were still unanswered questions, complications that needed to be addressed.
As I prepared for the upcoming conversation, I wondered what the future held for us. Could we navigate the complexities of our relationship? And what impact would it have on Sofia?
Only time would tell, but one thing was certain - our lives were about to become even more intertwined. And I was prepared to face whatever challenges came our way, as long as Isabella and Sofia were by my side.
This was the first time I was nervous about anything in my life but with Isabella I was nervous and mostly scared of what would happen if Aurora ever finds out. She is my fiance but the lust and love wasn't there.
Seeing Sofia's smiling face and hearing her excited voice calling me "daddy" melted away any lingering doubts or fears I had. This little girl was my world, and I couldn't imagine my life without her.
I picked Sofia up in my arms, holding her tightly as she giggled with glee. "Hey there, my little princess. Daddy missed you so much."
Isabella watched us with a soft smile, her eyes filled with a mix of emotions. "I'm glad you're here, Enzo. Sofia has been asking about you every day."
I kissed Sofia's forehead before setting her down. "I've missed her too. And I've missed you, Isabella." I couldn't help but let my gaze linger on her, a longing evident in my eyes.
Isabella's cheeks turned a slight shade of pink, but she didn't pull away. "We should talk, Enzo. I want to discuss what happened and what it means for us."
I nodded, feeling a mix of nervousness and anticipation. "Yes, we should. Can we sit down and have that conversation now?"
Isabella led me to the living area of the hotel suite, where we took a seat on the couch. Sofia, sensing the seriousness of the moment, sat quietly nearby, playing with her toys.
Taking a deep breath, Isabella began, her voice steady but filled with emotion. "Enzo, what happened between us was unexpected, but there's no denying the connection we share. But before we go any further, I need to know where things stand between you and Aurora."
I looked down for a moment, gathering my thoughts. "Honestly, Isabella, things haven't been great between Aurora and me for a while now. You do know everything was arranged between the both of us, and we never loved each other for once. When you came into my life, it was like a breath of fresh air, a reminder of what true happiness and passion could feel like again."
Isabella reached out and gently took my hand in hers. "Enzo, I would never want to be the cause of any pain or hurt in your relationship. Sofia deserves to have parents who are happy and committed to each other."
I squeezed her hand gently, trying to convey my sincerity. "Isabella, I want nothing more than for Sofia to grow up in a loving and healthy environment. And I believe that, with you, we can create that for her. But first, we need to figure out what we want and what's best for all of us."
Isabella's eyes searched mine, her expression one of longing and uncertainty. "Are you saying that you want to be with me, Enzo? That you're willing to leave Aurora?"
I took a deep breath, searching my heart for the right answer. "Isabella, I can't deny the feelings I have for you. But I need time to sort through my emotions and make a decision. We owe it to ourselves and Sofia to fully consider the consequences of our actions."
Isabella nodded, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. "I understand, Enzo. This is a difficult situation, and we can't rush into anything. But promise me this – promise me that we'll always prioritize Sofia's well-being and happiness above everything else."
I squeezed her hand once again, my resolve strengthening. "I promise, Isabella. Sofia will always be our top priority, no matter what happens."
With that, we fell into a contemplative silence, knowing that our future was uncertain but committed to finding a way forward. It was a delicate balance we needed to strike.
After our little discussion and awkward silence, I decided to concentrate on Sofia who was already dizzy, this was the first time after so many days that we were seeing each other but I was too busy and lost concentration on her, she must be really angry with me now. I am sure she tried to wait for me but I took too long with her mother.
" You should take her to bed." Isabella suggested standing behind me.
"That's right." I replied her slowly lifting Sofia from the floor and taking her to her bedroom…..after getting her to fall back asleep, Isabella escorted me out of the room and towards the door but I was a little hesitant to leave after the little make out session between Isabella and I earlier at work I couldn't get enough of her so I continuously stared at her lips before moving closer to her.
As I leaned in to kiss Isabella, the spark between us reignited. Our lips met once again, and the fire that had been burning inside both of us flared up with even more intensity.
Lost in the moment, we ignored the nagging voice in the back of our minds warning us of the potential consequences. It felt like the only thing that mattered in that moment was the undeniable connection and passion we shared.
But just as before, the spell was broken by a sudden noise. This time, it was the sound of Sofia's footsteps approaching the room. We quickly pulled away from each other, our breaths heavy and our hearts pounding.
Sofia walked into the room, rubbing her sleepy eyes. "Daddy, I can't sleep. Can you sing me a lullaby?"
I turned to her with a mix of guilt and love. "Of course, sweetheart. Let's go to your room."
I gave Isabella a quick, meaningful look before taking Sofia's hand and leading her to her bedroom. As I sang her favorite lullaby and tucked her in, I couldn't shake the feeling of longing and confusion that lingered in the air.
After Sofia finally drifted off to sleep, I quietly left her room and made my way back to the living area where Isabella was waiting. The tension between us was palpable, each of us unsure of what to say or do next.
Isabella took a deep breath, breaking the silence. "Enzo, we can't keep doing this. We can't keep giving in to our desires while Sofia is in the next room. It's not fair to her, and it's not fair to us."
I nodded, the weight of responsibility settling upon my shoulders. "You're right, Isabella. We need to find a way to navigate this situation without hurting anyone, especially Sofia."
Isabella sighed, a mix of sadness and determination in her eyes. "Maybe we need to take a step back, focus on figuring out our feelings and what we truly want. It won't be easy, but it's the only way we can move forward."
I nodded again, the reality of the situation sinking in. "I agree, Isabella. We need to take some time apart, give ourselves space to think and reflect. Only then can we make the right decisions for ourselves and for Sofia."
Isabella reached out and squeezed my hand, a bittersweet smile on her face. "I believe in us, Enzo. I believe we can find a way to navigate this, no matter how difficult it may be. We owe it to ourselves and to Sofia."
With a heavy heart, I stood up and prepared to leave. "I'll always be there for Sofia, Isabella. And, when the time is right, I hope we can find a way to be there for each other too."
Isabella nodded, tears glistening in her eyes. "I hope so too, Enzo. We have a lot to sort through, but I have faith that we can find our way back to each other, if it's meant to be."
With one last glance, I walked away, leaving behind a whirlwind of emotions and uncertainty.
ISABELLA —
As the door closed behind Enzo, I was left alone with my thoughts and the heaviness of the situation weighing on my shoulders. I couldn't help but feel torn - torn between my growing feelings for Enzo and the guilt I carried for keeping my relationship with Aurora a secret.
A part of me wanted to believe that love could conquer all, that Enzo and I could find a way to be together despite the obstacles standing in our path. But another part of me feared that the truth could shatter everything we had built, leaving us all broken and hurting.
I couldn't keep hiding the fact that Aurora was my sister, especially not now that our relationship with Enzo had taken such a complicated turn. The longer I kept this secret, the harder it would be to reveal, and the greater the potential for heartbreak.
With a heavy heart, I picked up my phone and dialed Aurora's number. But I couldn't do it, I won't want her to find out that I am back in La Nostra Terra.
I also really wanted to call my daddy and tell him how much I missed him and how hard I was working to restore his company which I had brought great downfall to because of my mistakes and bad decisions.
And mostly tell him that his granddaughter always asked about him and wanted to be with him and most especially ask him why he removed my photos and memories from his life and how much hurt I felt when Enzo told me how I was not included in my father's life again. I wish he could just listen to me one more time, I an very sure he has forgotten that I am his daughter and only wants the best for Aurora now getting her married to a billionaire because she is just favourite. A this things continue to hurt me but I can't say anything about it because it was my mistake from the start.
