Cat and I was standing at the front door as our first guest arrived, I was still hung up on that fucking ring she was wearing, if she was going to wear an engagement ring it was one I’m going to give her in fact I already designed it, it was a ring with 5 stones in it and then there was a ring with 4 stones in it, it was each of our birthstones, one stone to represent each of us, but I was the one putting it on her finger I was the one that was going to take her surname not the others, according to the law I will be her husband and that meant something to me. But I had to put that aside right now, I get it if she saw a ring when we were out I would have bought it for her as well it’s just this ring looks like an engagement ring. Cat took my hand and squeezed it. “Are you with me?” I shook my head to get rid off all the thoughts “Yes angel I’m here.” “Enzo it’s just a ring.” She said like she knew what I was thinking. “Here’s our first guest you already met them at the meeting.” I told her ignoring the comment about the ring. “Mr. and Mrs. Gallo so nice of you to join us.” Cat said taking Mrs. Gallo’s hand in hers and shaking it. “Oh, my dear you look amazing.” Mrs. Gallo said. “And so do you.” Cat said without skipping a beat. “Mr. Gallo.” She shook his hand as well. “Miss Capone.” Mr. Gallo said. “Go through one of the guys will help you to get a drink.” “Tell me we not first.” Mrs. Gallo asked Cat. “Yes, you are.” “You know we are always first my husband here can’t stand to be late.” Cat whispered loud enough for me and Mr. Gallo to hear. “Well, that means the best finger foods are still available.” “That made Mrs. Gallo laugh and Mr. Gallo snicker. When they walked away, I kissed her on the cheek. “You such a natural angel.” “Only because you are standing next to me.”

After I greeted Mr. and Mrs. Gallo and Enzo told me I was a natural the rest was easy. I greeted everyone that stepped into the house there was a few people that didn’t know me yet but Enzo took control there and introduced me as the Capone Heir, Caterina Capone he also very quickly told them I like to be called Cat, so that was at least something. The Luciano’s was the last to arrive, Mrs. Luciano looked like they took a few spins around the block before stopping here she was flustered and her hair a bit out of place but not something I’m going to comment on her excuse off course was the kids, but as soon as they where inside the house and got a drink Enzo looked at me and said “They obviously had a quicky in the Car.” “Oh, most definitely.” I said as we both laughed. When we were sure everyone arrived, Enzo closed the front door and we joined the party. Enzo was called by Luciano and without calling or saying a word, Frank stepped in next to me.
“You are a natural.” He commended. I looked at him smiling “And how would you know?” “Oh, believe me the women chat and they chatted about you a lot from your dress to that ring on your finger.” “Not you to, it’s nothing I liked it and he bought it.” “When I wanted to spend so much money on you you refused.” “You didn’t feed me.” “I did.” “Ask John how to get me to except gifts.” I said smiling at him. He grabbed two glasses of champagne and gave me one. “Am I allowed to drink tonight?” “Preferable just that one glass you still on that pain meds.” “I know.” “There is Appletizer in the kitchen but the waiters know to bring you some, then it looks like you drinking.” “You guys think of everything.” “We try.” Frank and I was walking through the people talking when they wanted to talk, making conversation with some of the wife’s and then Mr. Gallo came marching up to me. Frank saw it to. “I’ve got this.” Frank said. “Wait let’s hear what he has to say first.” I told Frank. “Mr. Gallo, I see you don’t have a glass in your hand.” I raised my hand and instantly there was a waiter at my side. “Miss Capone what can I get you?” “Whatever Mr. Gallo wants.” I said. Mr. Gallo looks at me then at Frank. “Scotch on the rocks.” “Coming right up sir.” The waiter said as he moved away from us.
“So, what else can I help you with?” I asked him, he looked like a man on a mission. “You can tell me what you are going to do with Marchetti’s territory?” He asked it so loudly that the whole house got quiet. Everyone’s eyes were on me and I had no fucking clue what to tell him. “Well as Gallo here got all your attention.” Enzo said stepping in next to me and Frank on my other side. “I would like to use this opportunity to formally introduce you to Caterina or like she likes to be called Cat Capone.” “Yes, yes we all met her.” Gallo said to Enzo. “We need answers what is the Capone Heir planning on doing for us?” “Well, I thought this was just a get together not a strategy meeting.” I said smiling. Luciano was the one that stepped forward and said. “Gallo we are not here to talk business; I’m sure Cat will call us when she needs to talk business this is a social event.” “I need to know there is some cartels that is taking the opportunity to step in.” “Okay Gallo tell you what we will have a meeting on Friday my warehouse and we can talk about it.” Enzo said. “And will Cat.” He said my name like he spit it out. “Be there.” Before Enzo could answer I told him “I will have Enzo take over the meeting unfortunately I have other matters to attend to on Friday.” “But you are the Heir you are the one that is suppose to guide us.” Gallo said. And there it is the crack of the matter, the matter I was afraid off because I’m not ready to take over, I’m not ready or will I ever be ready to take over as the Mafia Boss.
