Chapter 58 INFLUX CONFESSION

Chapter 58 INFLUX CONFESSION
I tried to strain out of the bed I had been laying on, but the moment I made a turn, I realized I already had both of my hands tied up over my head with a bound that stretched over to the bed's head rest behind me.

“What in the world…” I mumbled, trying to force my way out, but the bound was way too strong for me to try and break free from.

“What have I gotten myself into?” I lamented to myself, pulling the bound to make it saggy repeatedly, but all my efforts all runned futile.

I gnatched my teeth as the feeling of intense rage began to brew within me. Just when I had thought I was successfully getting away from Santiano Rafael Devereaux, my luck turned out to be crappy, jinxing my whole life all at once again and driving me back to square zero and it seems I might have as well fallen prey to someone who was on par with Santiano Rafael Devereaux— perhaps, even more devilish than who I thought Rafael to be.

And then, the door opened the next minute, my eyes shooting straight towards the direction of the door in anticipation of who was about to come in.

For a brief moment, my chest tightened and my heart began to pound a lot faster than the last beat as a piece of their being slowly made it into the room, but I was fully aware of whom to expect, I just wasn't ready to face this yet.

And so, he walked in through the door, shutting it gently behind him while a sadistic grin sat on his lips as he stared down on my almost bare body that was lying on the bed which was only covered in a faintly thin white gown like I was a show for him to admire.

With the grin still glistering on his thin lips,

…like the devil he was, he says,

“Hello, Vanessa Hudgens.”

“Hello, Vanessa Hudgens,” He greeted with his signature grin, hoping I could see a little sort of genuinity in them.

“It's good to see you again, Vanessa,” He continued, approaching the bed I was laying on slowly with his hands neatly tucked in his pockets.

I tried to open my mouth to speak, but before I could, he already had my words lined on his lips, speaking them into existence at once.

“Let me guess… you're about to say…” He paused, raising his brows playfully like he was getting a piece of his own surprise while swinging his right hand out of his pocket like he was about to pass some instructions with his fingers.

He continued,

“Why are you doing this to me? What do you want from me?” He finished with a brand new grin pasted on his lips like he was enjoying whatever was going on.

He clearly was and I thought of him as a nut job— a man as crazy as Santiano Rafael Devereaux.

I fumbled with the bound I was gauged with, a mild rage flashing through my being as I could suddenly feel a sense of deja vu at that moment.

It was the same as the first time I had met Santiano Rafael Devereaux. I had even bound to a chair and he had taken up my words even before I could lay them out— just like he could read my mind.

Is this approach a mafia thing? Why can one not offer a different method of approach to things like this? Or was I crazy for considering these thoughts?

But the man in the room with me, the one standing so close to me by the bed was not Santiano Rafael Devereaux, but rather, he was the same man who has stood up against Rafael on the night of the Blue Dragon Party— this I could recall him by, but I knew nothing more of him.

He was the last person I could ever think I would encounter or fall prey to. I need no one telling me he has brought me to his own territory to get back at Santiano Rafael Devereaux and have me instead, but he was also concerned about how he came to know about my escape from the Devereaux mansion, away from Santiano Rafael Devereaux and how he had been perfectly timed, waiting for me to crawl out of the base of the tunnel that night.

Perhaps, has Leah betrayed me? Did she go against me even before the whole plan kicked into motion? Had she sold me out to the enemy without me being aware of the faint possibility of this?

If this was true, then the next question was why? Why would Leah betray me after her confession? Why would she do this to me? Was anything about her ever true? Her words? Her promises? Her story? Have I made a mistake by trusting her?

As these thoughts ran through my mind endlessly, trying to figure out where it all had started to go wrong, the man moved closer, taking a seat for himself by the bed while he tried to soothe through my hair.

I resisted his touch with a flinch, throwing my head away farther from him. He smiled at my rejection as he began to say,

“My name is Sergie. Sergie DeLuca,” He introduced.

His name was probably the last thing I needed to know and I wanted nothing more than to be away from him that very moment.

“You have to get used to me, Vanessa… this is only the beginning for us, you should know that.” He continued, tracing patterns on my cheek with his index finger.

“I would rather try my chances with Santiano Rafael Devereaux than be with you!” I spat at him, not realizing the weight in the context of the words I had said to him in the heat of the moment as a response.

I folded, my mind flushing up in a state of confusion at my own confession. I couldn't believe I had just made that pronouncement— to be with Rafael instead of this man before me.
