Chapter 52 Cecilia

Chapter 52 Cecilia

Cecilia

I was standing still, I couldn't move an inch. Panic taking over me, who was breaking into Dominick's house, I needed to make decisions, my body wasn't obeying me at that moment, I wasn't a mafia member, I was a fake.

“Come on, you need to protect yourself,” Lorenzo screamed and pushed me to the end of the corridor.

“No, we need to act. Have barriers made to slow down advances, and use grenades,” I finally managed to speak. They couldn't take my house while no Salvatore was present, I wasn't going to let that happen.

“Cecília, I will follow your orders. But I need you to protect yourself, you've never been through this and you don't know what a bloodbath it's going to be. We can't lose you too, and leave our family in Camille's hands,” Lorenzo said.

I took a deep breath and thought for a while, I couldn't gain respect if I didn't fight alongside them.

“I can't do that, but I'll be careful and I'm counting on you to protect me,” I told Lorenzo who was not happy at all.

We went down the stairs and went to the front line, everything was already a mess, people running, smoke everywhere, people on the ground, some dead and others injured, but the majority of us were still standing. I remembered something Dominick had told me that would be crucial at this moment.

“Lorenzo, I want you to release the dogs, all of them, and give them the attack command, the more injured and scared they are, the easier it will be for us to attack,” I gave the order.

Lourenço looked at me with admiration and then told a soldier to do as he was ordered, and in a few seconds we saw all the soldiers from the opposing mafia running towards the gates, and we could finally breathe.

I had never been through this and I confess that in the adrenaline rush, I was good at giving orders. A few minutes passed and I could hear my soldiers singing Victory. And I also gained the respect of many.

“You were a true Dom today, a perfect and courageous boss,” one of them said.

“You have earned my respect, ma'am,” said another head of the family.

I was proud of myself, but they didn't need to know that inside I was shaking all over.

“Get back to work, clean all this up,” I said and went back inside, I didn't want to see all the destruction in the open.

Minutes later my door was opened, it was Lorenzo bringing me all the information.

“So how bad is it?” I asked.

“According to information, eight casualties and some cars were lost, but nothing we can't recover. We won today ma'am, thanks to you,” Lorenzo said full of pride.

“I almost gave up, I've never been so scared, I was shaking the whole time,” I admitted to him.

“You were the best boss we could have at this time,” Lorenzo countered.

“Stop calling me ma'am, we're past that stage,” I spoke.

“It's still difficult. But I promise I will try,” he spoke. “I will help with the investigation and the necessary punishment for those who attacked us.”

“Lorenzo, bring the person in charge to me, I want to see with my own eyes who dared to attack Dominick,” I spoke.

When I was finally alone, my adrenaline went down and I fell asleep from the stress. I woke up a few hours later in the first rays of sunlight, went to the window, and was still faced with the destruction of last night. There were no more bodies, but the grenades did a lot of damage, they knocked down part of our gate, and four of our cars were destroyed. Some windows were left without glass and trees were knocked down, but this was still a victory.

I saw the salute from all the soldiers, I had finally gained some respect among them, not only yesterday but today as well. Now, unfortunately, according to Lorenzo, I would have to call a meeting to talk about the attack and name the person who ordered it, but only after I saw him with my own eyes. He was going to suffer the punishment given to mafia traitors.

After getting ready, I went down to the office and Lorenzo was already waiting for me, he had a question that was bothering me.

“Lorenzo, where is Camille?” I asked as soon as I closed the door behind me.

“She didn't sleep at home, she said she had to resolve something about her store,” she replied.

The doubt only increased. She had something to do with this attack so much so that she didn't stay here.

“Investigate what she had to do Lorenzo, I feel like she had something to do with this attack. But don't let anyone know, I want you to do it yourself,” I ordered.

“I think the same thing, so much so that I've already started the investigation,” he responded.

I smiled at him and he smiled back.

In the following time, we talked about the meeting, about the new security arrangements, after all, we needed to find the traitor, because the gate was opened by someone, and someone very close to us. When we finished our business, Lorenzo received a phone call and he didn't seem happy at all.

“What do you hear?” I asked, already startling me.

“I need you to stay calm,” he said. I already got up from the chair, panic taking over me. “It's from Cecília Hospital.

“What happened?”
