CHAPTER 141 (Second-Gen)

CHAPTER 141 (Second-Gen)
They arrived at home at 09:30 PM at night, and Nadia got out of the car. She waited for Peyton to kill the engine, and get out of the car.

Once, he was done they went up to their rooms. They stopped at Nadia's door, and Peyton sighed.

They both looked into each other's eyes in silence, that was until Nadia broke it.

"Look, I know that I might have seemed... stupid for what I did but I promise you hurting you was never my intentions" Nadia muttered, and looked at the ground.

Peyton smirked, and gently lifted her face up by her chin" I'm not mad. Well not anymore, since I know the reason why you've been rejecting me I'm not as angry as before. I thought I would be but surprisingly I'm not" He said, and Nadia sighed.

Peyton patted her head"But, just so you know. I still see you as someone I can take care of and protect. Even if it's not as a little sistet"He grinned at her, before walking away.

Nadia watched him walk away, and smiled to herself. Maybe it's not as bad as she thought.

She sighed softly, before walking inside her room.

Axel was sitting on his small bed. His gaze was on the screen of the laptop that was sitting in between his legs.

He stuffed his face with fries, as his fingers moved swiftly on the keyboard in front of him. An endless string of numbers flashed past his eyes.

The sound of his phone ringing next to him, made his eyes look away from the screen. He reached for it, and answered it with his left while his right continued typing.

"I thought I told you not to call me while I'm out of the province" He said, and the caller scoffed.

"And I told you not to get distracted" His lieutenant Mila spoke, and he smirk.

"You're watching me?" He said, and tapped the shift button.

"As I should. You're jeopardizing the mission, by getting your dick involved in this. You know how important this mission is for our gang, it could put us on the map, and even earn us some respect. Don't let your lack of gratitude ruin what we work for months to accomplish " She deadpanned.

"Observant as always I see" Axel said. Clearly not denying it.

Mila sighed "Three months you have three months to eliminate Nadia Knights, or I'll do it myself y" She said, and hung up.

Axel stuffed a handful of fries into his mouth, and continued typing away. Then, with a few more taps, a loud beep echoed, and he smiled brightly when he found what he was looking for. Access into Mila's laptop.

All the information about her father, everything she knew about Nadia, and her intentions plans. All he had to do is press one key, and all the information would be deleted all the data but first.

He saved the information into his laptop, before deleting it from hers.

He sighed, falling back onto the bed, and tucked his arms under his head. Eyes closed, he let the memories flood in. Growing up in a gang hadn't been his choice – it was survive or die. The weak didn't last, and it drowned him in memories of his childhood. Dark, painful, filled with suffering.

His parents – monsters, both of 'em. Mom stripped for cash; Dad gambled it away. And he and his brother paid the price. His brother, Nicolai, had a heart condition, needed meds, so he'd do anything – anything – to get them. That's when he realized: Nicolai was it for him. The reason he killed his parents, after they left Nicolai out in the cold for knocking over mom's makeup. The rush... it was exhilarating, sickly amazing. Getting rid of evil felt right.

Nicolai got adopted; Axel ran. Didn't want love. The Streets were brutal, but they made him stronger. Barely remembered that life now, but _her_... he remembered. Small face, honey-brown eyes, kind smile. She was why he kept going. His reason to protect... even if it destroyed him.

Nadia was fast asleep when a knock came at the door, and she groaned. She tossed to the other side of the bed, and groaned.

She hopped of the bed, and walked to the door. She opened the door, and prepared to destroy the knockers face.

Victor gasped, and blocked his face to protect himself from getting hit.

"Please not the face" He joked, and Nadia scowled.

She sighed, and folded her arms across her chest.

"Victor. What the hell? Are you doing here at this time of the night. It's literally three in the morning " She glared at him, and he smirked before showing her a picture.

Nadia glance at the woman in the picture. Plutinum blonde curls with dark brown eyes, and a mole on the top left corner of her lip.

Nadia gave him a bored expression "And am I supposed to know who that is?" She asked, a Victor's smile faded.

He scoffed "This is Diana Montana. She used to work for them at the western province, and I discovered that she left the gang a two years ago" Victor explained with a scowl.

Nadia glanced at her then back at Victors face.

"Where is she now?" Nadia asked, and walk back inside her room at sat on the bed.

Victor followed, and sat beside her.

"Into hiding. She's wanted dead after stealing three million worth of gold from the Raven Fiction in the south" She explained, and Nadia chuckled.

"Interesting. How long until you can be able to find a lead on her" Nadia asked.

Victor smirked "I already found her " He replied, which surprised her.

"Really where?"She asked.

Victor took his iPad, and started scrolling. After, a while he showed her some photos taken a year ago of her at the back entrance of the Home of sweetness Bakery. The same bakery that Nadia always visited almost five times a month.

Nadia was confused" How is this a lead that's literally the same bakery I've been visiting for two years now "Nadia said.

Victor smirked" Exactly it opened two years ago. The same time period in which she left A's gang" He explained "She's using the bakery as a why to hide from her enemies. Nadia, Patrick is Diana" He dropped the bombshell catching Nadia off guard.

" T.. That's impossible. Patrick...." She wanted to deny.

"Is a what? Man?" Victor raised a brow" Nadia you seem to have forgotten that in this time, and age people can have their appearance and even their genders changed"He said, and Nadia became speechless because she knew that he was right.
