Chapter Twenty-one : Lose Control

"Ple-please, have-mercy-" the man mumbled, on the verge of losing consciousness as he coughed blood again.

The stains of blood and puke from earlier got smudged over his chest. The merciless ambiance in the shape of a giant wolf claw appeared once again, engulfing the man as it scorched his skin, making him scream in unbearable pain.

"Please!" The man begged, sobbing. He grabbed the leg before his head as the Chanel shoes gleamed on its feet.

Caspian aimlessly lit his cigarette, blowing the smoke out of his lips. His veins became prominent on his forearm as his arctic blue eyes glowed up, piercing the man's soul.

The man's hand trembled on the grip, still refusing to let go.

"How long was it?" Caspian calmly questioned the man. "How long did your last victim survive? Did you not torture her till dawn, letting her recover after a long beating and then beating her to death again?"

"I despise humans," the man barely mumbled.

Caspian's eyes narrowed as his foot hit the man's face, breaking his jaw. The man cried out in pain again. Caspian slowly got up from his chair as his entire body began to emit powerful alpha energy.

"You despised women," Caspian said calmly. "Victim number seventeen, girl, age nineteen. Your pack abducted her from her work. The alpha imprisoned her for a week, abusing her physically. Finally, beating her to death."

The ring of smoke disappeared in the air. Caspian grabbed the man by his collar, lifting his insentient body.

"You are a psychopath, and you have killed enough daughters. You no longer possess the right to lead your pack, Alpha Loren," Caspian said, bringing his face close to the man. "Burn to ashes," he said in a tiny voice as an aura appeared in the shape of a wolf encircling the man.

The man's eyes widened. Before he could resist, his entire body melted, leaving only ashes.

"It might start a massive fight with his pack, Boss," one of the thugs said.

"Loren's pack is equally responsible for their alpha's transgressions. They must pay the price," Caspian said calmly.

"My my!"

Suddenly, a high-pitched male voice pierced through the air, startling everyone. The thugs hastily drew their guns out of reflex.

"Oh, Lord! Is this how the most prestigious company welcomes its guests?" the owner of the voice questioned, raising his arms over his head dramatically.

The man was in his mid-thirties in an expensive black suit. He fixed his glasses, complementing the cheeky look on his handsome face.

"Who's going to believe the most significant personnel and the future CEO of the White Wolves' is a thug beyond their eyes," the man said, staring at the ashes.

"Why is a senator visiting a wolf's den?" Caspian asked, unbothered.

"Ah- you hurt my pride. I might be a senator, but that doesn't mean I have forgotten my roots," the man said, fixing his glasses again. "So, how is my alpha?" he asked, staring into Caspian's eyes as a cheeky smile appeared on his face.

''The alpha is doing great without the leeches around," Caspian answered, mocking the man.

"Indeed, after all, the daughter of the house has returned," the man said. "I am grateful that the alpha lord let me choose my life without roguing me out of the pack. Hence, isn't it comprehensible if I seek help from my packmates in times of need?" the man asked, brightly smiling at Caspian.

"I have told you before. The alpha has decreed not to harm humans," Caspian said.

"I am aware of it," the man said calmly. "I am not asking you to harm anyone. I assume your car got attacked by one of the human gangs, didn't it?'' he asked.

Caspian didn't respond as the man continued, "Only the White Wolves' can infiltrate the Crescent family's territory. I heard their new master is barely a teen. It's the best opportunity the White Wolves would get to defeat them without harming the humans."

"What's your agenda here?" Caspian asked, getting suspicious.

"I need the documents of their predecessors. You are aware one of their members is also a senator," the man said.

"You need to pay enough for that," Caspian said as a smirk appeared on the corner of his mouth.

The man sighed exhaustedly, placing his fingers over his glasses.

"Certainly. How could I forget that the calm and composed man with high intellect in front of the world is such a madcap behind his mask," the man said.

"Calm and composed," Caspian mumbled as the memories from earlier suddenly hit him.

Earlier that night, Caspian had lost control over his wolf for the first time in a long time since he was a child.

Bailey appeared intimidated as Caspian's hands began to swerve over her body. Her body froze as Caspian's fingers found their way inside her shirt, slowly unbuttoning them from the top.

"Stop it!" Bailey shoved Caspian's hands away. "Have you lost your mind? Are you a pervert? How can you do this when you are already engaged?" Bailey questioned, staring at Caspian with disbelief in her eyes.

Bailey couldn't say that she despised Caspian's touch. Rather it was the opposite as she felt her body getting hot. Every contact Caspian's fingers made with her skin drove her wanting to curl up.

"You didn't hate it when Athereld did this to you," Caspian said, coldly gazing at her.

"Nothing happened between us!" Bailey protested. "You are getting delusional. However, even if something happened, that shouldn't concern you. I am nothing but a contender to you, after all," Bailey said calmly.

"Contender?'' Caspian asked, getting puzzled. He stared at Bailey for a few seconds before breaking into laughter.

"I am aware I can't shift or feel my wolf yet. However, I won't inherit the throne without a proper conclave," Bailey said calmly. ''I will work hard to defeat you and become your alpha."

Caspian couldn't believe his ears. At first, he thought Athereld must have fed something strange to the girl to spout all those nonsense. However, the determination in Bailey's eyes made it apparent she was sober. No one had ever dared to compete with Caspian before. Caspian scrutinized Bailey hoping to find out what caused her to even think of something like this.

Caspian's eyes glowed up as his breathing got faster. Caspian stared at Bailey's exposed chest. One more button, and there wouldn't be any curtain of shame between them.

Bailey grabbed Caspian's arm, preventing him from unbuttoning her shirt further.

"Don't do this. You will regret it later," Bailey said determinedly.

Even a moment ago, Bailey seemed frightened. However, the calmness on her face annoyed Caspian. He suddenly felt the urge to see her crying. The girl dared to challenge her not even minutes ago. Suddenly, Caspian did the unexpected.

Caspian abruptly brought his face closer to Bailey's chest, sucking her exposed skin and gripping her arms tightly, preventing her from moving. Bailey's eyes widened as Caspian's lips moved from her chest to her neck, nibbling.

Caspian's wolf began to fight him to take full possession of his body. Caspian wondered if it was due to him being mateless for years. Caspian's wolf had never struggled to get the taste of something like this all these years. Caspian couldn't fathom why he was feeling so restless.

Caspian wanted to control his wolf. He could surpass its desire. However, as he stared at the struggling girl beneath, Caspian let his wolf take over him.

Bailey cried out in fear as Caspian's hands snaked inside her shirt. He had completely lost himself.

"Please stop," Bailey mumbled, struggling. Caspian's lips found their way to her cheeks from her neck. His lips were only inches apart from Bailey's.

Bailey closed her eyes as tears fell from her eyes. Caspian paused, noticing her wet cheeks. He wanted to see her crying. However, the sight of it caused a strange pain inside his chest. His grip loosened on Bailey's wrists as his phone rang suddenly.

Bailey took the opportunity to shove him away and hastily got out of the car. Before Caspian could stop her, she went inside Athereld's place.

Caspian exhaustedly raked his fingers through his hair as his phone continued to ring with Aphrodite's name on the screen.
