Chapter 27

“Alright, I won't yell at you. Just don't provoke me.” He gently placed his hand on my belly, “Is it still painful?”

“A little.”

“Then excuse yourself from the teacher and don't go.”

“I can't.”

“I've only seen you this persistent when it comes to your teacher, is he more important than me?”

“Kevin, are you jealous of the teacher?”

“Who's jealous?”

“Well, then, I'll go to class.” I said, taking the initiative to kiss his lips after finishing the sentence.

A quick peck, “Don't be angry anymore.”

Although he was fuming, after being kissed, he became much more relaxed.

“Come on, can a kiss buy me off?”

His current appearance is just like a big dog wagging its tail.

“Kevin, I just realized for the first time that you are so handsome.”

I smiled at him.

“Being handsome alone doesn't cut it, man.”

“But you're not just handsome, you're also a bit adorable.”

“Adorable?” His smile faded, “I guess I've been too gentle with you.”

So we kissed for another half an hour before he let me go.

Kevin drove me to school.

As soon as I got out of the car, I saw Timothy.

He looked at Kevin's car, then at me, and his face darkened, “Christina, why are you hanging out with that kind of person?”

“There are many ways to get back at me, why did you choose to hurt yourself?”

Me: ...

“Tell me, what kind of person am I?” The person who just left suddenly returned.

“Kevin.” I held him back.

It was our first direct conflict, Timothy frowned, clearly lacking in confidence, “My mom found out, you have a criminal record.”

My heart skipped a beat, I looked up at Kevin.

He didn't seem angry, but was actually smiling, “Well, your mom still knows too little.”

Timothy approached me, “You don't know, he's done things like murder and arson, and there are rumors that he's cruel and violent. Don't have any contact with him, don't be afraid, come to my side.”

I refused.

Timothy continued, “Do you know he killed his own mother?”

I was shocked on the spot.

Kevin's smile vanished, “Get any closer and find out for yourself.”

“As for you calling me cruel and violent, let me clarify, it's not just a rumor.”

“If I were you, I would be begging for mercy on my knees right now.”

As he finished the sentence, his eyes were filled with murderous intent.

“Christina, look, he admitted it. Are you still going to be foolish for him?” Timothy was starting to panic.

But his first reaction was actually to rush at Kevin and try to hit him.

Kevin kicked him to the ground with one foot and pressed his hand down.

“I told you not to mess with me, didn't listen, huh?”

Seeing the ferocity in Kevin's eyes, I became a little scared and quickly grabbed hold of him.

“Kevin, you promised me not to do this sort of thing in front of me.”

“He hit me, and yet you're protecting him. You care about your useless ex-boyfriend, don't you?”

“No, I don't.” I panicked a bit, people around us were starting to gather.

He could fight back, but Timothy was definitely not his match. I was afraid that things would escalate and someone would get seriously hurt.

“You can't keep your promise to me, Kevin. Can I still trust you?”

Kevin looked at me, the fierceness in his eyes gradually suppressed, and he finally withdrew his foot, “You don't trust me, so trust your ex-boyfriend then, right?”

“You're being unreasonable.”

“I'm not a good person, why should I be reasonable?”

“Christina, you think I'm easy to bully, don't you?”

“This relationship...”

“Do you want to talk about it or not? If not, then I, Kevin, will not depend on anyone for the rest of my life.”

He got so angry, turned around, and left.

After a few steps, he remembered something, turned back, and handed me his lunchbox forcefully.

Inside was a loving lunch prepared for me.

I stood still, taking a while to recover.

“Christina, you saw him hit me, don't be with him anymore, you two are not compatible,” Timothy said as he got up.

“Shut up!” I stared at him, “You keep saying you hate your mom investigating me, but now you are letting her investigate him, what's the difference between you two?”

“I admit, I used to like you, but now it seems like I was blind,” he said.

Later, when I returned to school, I couldn't help but feel restless at the thought of what Timothy had said about Kevin.

How could he have killed his own mother?

What exactly happened?

I called Kevin, but he didn't answer.

I became even more restless.

Several days passed without any news from Kevin, as if he had disappeared.

“It must have been an accident, right?” Katie analyzed.

“Didn't you say last time that Kevin had a secret room with a notebook inside, where he confessed about his mother? Maybe that's where it is.”

“Timothy and his mother are really something, always exposing other people's wounds. I'm glad you broke up with him.”

...

As Katie mentioned it, I suddenly really wanted to go to that secret room.

“Do you remember the location of the secret room? I'll accompany you.” Katie suddenly became interested.

“I only have a rough idea of where it is. It's been too long, I'm afraid I won't be able to find it.”

“Let's go!” Katie acted immediately and pulled me along.

So, in the middle of the night, the two of us, holding our mobile flashlights, quietly sneaked into the hidden passage.

There was no light in the passage, and it was eerily quiet.

“Katie, I think we should come here during the day instead, I'm a little scared.” I tried to persuade her to leave.

“What are you afraid of? Even during the day, there are no lights here, it's still dark.” Katie was brave and pulled me forward.

“There's no one here, if we encounter bad people, we'll die here without anyone finding out.” I was about to send a message to Kevin.

“I already messaged Patrick, he knows.”

“What?”

If he knows, then Kevin will know as well.

However, Kevin finding out that I came to his secret room to look at his diary... would he kill me?

“Don't worry, I told him not to tell Kevin.”

Indeed, she understood me.

“By the way, how are things going between you and Patrick?”

“Not very well. I send him messages, and he replies, but slowly and rarely. But it's okay, I have patience.”

I looked at Katie and truly admired her.

If I were a guy, I would definitely like her.

Patrick will definitely be captivated by her, right?

Finally, after a difficult journey, we reached the secret room. I tried Kevin's password from last time, but it didn't work?

Did he change it?

“Try his birthday?”

“I... I don't know.”

I just realized that I don't even know his birthday.

Just when we were both at our wits' end, Katie pressed a few numbers.

Snap! The door opened.

“What did you press?” I looked at her in astonishment.

“Your birthday.”

Katie pulled me in, “Christina, he really loves you. Setting your birthday as the password shows that he wants to open up all his secrets only for you.”

As she said that, I suddenly thought of Kevin's disappointed expression when he left a few days ago, feeling sorry for him.
