Chapter 35

Isabella was watching a movie when she heard a knock. She sighed in frustration. She was too engrossed in the movie to stand up, so she quickly turned down the volume of the television.

"Come in," she called out loudly.

In just a few seconds, a man dressed in a black suit entered.

Good day, Ma'am. He greeted, lowering his head slightly.

"A good day to you as well." She greeted while still focused on the movie.

"Boss wants to see you," he announced.

Isabella was so focused that she could not hear him clearly.

"Your boss, what?" She asked, puzzled, as she paused the movie.

The man repeated himself, and Isabella sighed in frustration; it was not like she could decline.

"Am I to come now?" Isabella inquired.

"Yes, Ma'am," he answered.

"What does he want with me?" she muttered inaudibly.

“Did you say something Ma'am?” he asked turning back to face her, Isabella just smiled at him.

Isabella followed him closely as they walked. After a while, she wondered if he was taking her to see Mason. The man paused and opened a door in front of him. Isabella waited for him to enter, but he just stood there, holding the door.

"You are not coming in?" Isabella asked, concerned.

"No, Ma'am, the boss is inside and he wants to see you, so go ahead," he said, ushering her in.

Isabella sighed and entered the room; initially, she assumed it was his bedroom, but upon inspection, it appeared to be more of a personal space/office.

She took a few more steps and was astounded by what she saw: the room was immaculately decorated with sleek, modern furniture, a large mahogany desk, and expansive windows that provided breathtaking views of the sea. The walls were adorned with tasteful art pieces, and soft ambient music filled the air, creating a sense of tranquility.

“he doesn't strike me as someone who admires art” she mumbled to herself

She couldn't help but admire the attention to detail in every aspect of the room. The subtle scent of sandalwood and cedarwood lingered in the air, adding to the overall feeling of luxury and sophistication. Everything was perfectly arranged, from the neatly organized bookshelves to the carefully curated collection of vintage vinyl records displayed on a sleek turntable.

Lost in her admiration, she didn't notice when the male lead entered the room. He cleared his throat, causing her to jump slightly in surprise. She turned to face him, her cheeks flushed with embarrassment.

“Hi Leonardo” she greeted casually

“I see you honored my invitation,” he said with a grin

“As if you left me with a choice” Isabella murmured

“Have a seat” he said

Isabella did not hesitate to take a seat in the chair next to her; she was curious about the reason for her invitation, but she hoped it was related to Mason.

Leonardo picked up his phone and dialed a number, waiting for the receiver to answer while Isabella patiently waited for him.

"Take," Leonardo said, handing her the phone. She looked at him, surprised, as she collected it. She held her breath as she brought the phone to her ear.

“Hello,” she said waiting for a response at the other end of the phone.

“Hi my angel,” the voice on the phone said. Instantly she knew it was her her father's voice. A strong and unwavering, filled with a warmth that washed over her like a soothing embrace. Her eyes widened in disbelief as tears went up, emotion choking her throat.

"Daddy?" she gasped, her voice cracking with emotion. "Is that really you?"

Isabella was filled with emotions so she wanted to be sure if it was really her father and not Leonardo playing another trick on her.

"Daddy, I miss you so much," she whispered, her voice trembling with emotion. She didn't care that Leonardo was sitting right across her, tears rolled down her cheeks.

“I miss you too my angel, how are you doing?” her father asked trying his best not to cry out

“I'm fine father, I want to come back home” she pleaded not minding the stare she got from Leonardo.

Her father was heartbroken hearing her daughter's plea “ Angel, I will get you home, Daddy just needs to sort out some things. Please my angel don't try to escape like you did before, if he had killed you, he would have justified it. Just stay out for me and know that Daddy will get you out of there soonest.”

“Okay Daddy” she replied drying her tears with her clothes.

“Enough of the emotional rollercoaster, let me have my phone back,” Leonardo said taking the phone from her hand.

Isabella remained seated for some time without saying anything or moving; that phone call was the last thing she expected. Hearing her father's voice evoked a variety of emotions, including a longing for her former life.

"Thank you," she said almost inaudibly, and he smiled back.

"Can I speak to him whenever I want, even if it is once a week?" she pleaded.

Leonardo chuckled as he heard her plea; she had guts, which was another appealing quality about her.

"Hmm, you can, but it depends on how you act, so any funny act, I can make sure you do not hear his voice forever," he threatened.

Isabella swallowed hard; she despised his threats and the fact that he could carry them out.

“You have been acting right so I decided to reward you, I have plenty of rewards lined up but they are dependent on your behavior” he warned.

Isabella was too excited to take offense at what he said, and she was already looking forward to their next call.

“and as for your accomplice and boyfriend Mason hmm” he stopped to see her reaction but her face was steady.

“what about him” she asked curiously

"I have not decided his fate, but I will let you see him when the time is right," he said grimly.
