Ivan
"Fuck!" Mikhail screamed in pain and fell to the ground before my eyes. He had been shot in the right leg by his boss, Igor. He turned his neck to where Igor sat after he fell on the floor. Igor's smile was gone.
"What did I tell you earlier?" Igor asked through gritted teeth and Mikhail just tried to get back on his feet. I tucked the gun I was about to bring out back into my jacket pocket and licked my lips while I watched Mikhail fall with every attempt to get on his feet.
"Someone help him up," Igor ordered and one of the other men seated there hurried to Mikhail to help me get back up but he pushed the man away stubbornly. I looked away and tried to keep myself from laughing, he was probably embarrassed that he boss who shoot him in the leg in front of me.
"Mikhail! If you are not going to let him helo you, I will just ask him to shoot your other leg." Igor said and the man tried to help him again. He agreed to be helped up this time.
"I want my three million in cash, Ivan." Igor returned to our topic. I nodded."I will be watching and so will know when your deal is concluded. If you go against our agreement today and I don't get the money after your deal is concluded, I swear..." He trailed off with a warning.
"It will get to you." I told him and dusted my jacket while waiting for him to say something else but he didn't so I turned around to go but heard him.
"My greetings to Don Oleg." He said when I was almost at the door. I nodded and left the place.
I walked back to where I left Konstantin with Jewel and they weren't there so I took out my phone to call him. He picked on the phone's first ring.
"Where are you?" It was the first question I asked,"And where is she? With you right?"
"Yes, she is here." He said and i could relax my mind.
"Is she still unconscious?"
"Yes."
"Where are you both?"
"In your car. I took her away like you asked because I heard a gunshot sound. How did it go, success?" He was the one asking now.
"Not really. I will be elaborate with the explanation when I join you in the car."
"Okay." He replied and I ended the call.
As I walked back to my car, I saw the many happy people in park, both kids and adults. It wasn't the best and safest advice I had lended to Don Oleg suggesting we hid our guns at an amusement park but it was well hidden here till Igor Romanov knew about it.
I began to think about the other things that could effect out of Igor bombing the warehouse where my gang's gun was hidden. With the number of people visiting the park in a daily basis, it could result in dozens of civilian deaths and that would be very catastrophic. I didn't want innocent people to die because of the guns and my bad decision of where they could be kept.
I got to my car and I could see Jewel still unconscious as she laid in the back of the car. Konstantin got out of the car and joined me outside.
"How did it go?" He wanted to know.
I sighed before I began talking."He thinks the guns are worth just nine million, he is asking for half of that."
"So he doesn't know the actual worth?"
"No. Whoever gave him the information must have done his homework halfway. He says he wants the money cash after a deal is made, else he is going to bomb the whole place, the warehouse and the park, all together."
"Shit." Konstantin cursed."Don Oleg wouldn't like to hear that."
"I know. It's why he shouldn't get know of this. No one else apart from us both should. I will pay off Igor after we successfully transfer the guns."
"What?" He expressed his shock."We are not going to tell Don Oleg about it?"
"No."
"Why not?"
"You just said it yourself, Konstantin. You are right, Don Oleg wouldn't be pleased to hear that Igor Romanov knows about the warehouse here at the park so he shouldn't."
"So you are willing to pay him off with your own money?"
"I have to."
"You could just tell Don Oleg, Four and a half million will not be hard for him, you know that."
"I am aware, Konstantin. I know Don Oleg could spend that amount without a sweat, we have both witnessed him spend a near amount just to buy women but one thing you should remember about him is his stubbornness. He may have it, but I am not sure he would be willing to just give it to Igor, he would rather go to war with him. It's the leader of the Strelka gang we are talking off, he and the Don are not on good terms."
"If it is war the Strelka gang want then we can give it to them." Konstantin sounded ready to go back to where I just came from and begin the war he was speaking of but I just sighed.
"No. I don't want that."
"Why? Did you forget what our gang is known for? Ruthlessness, Ivan, pure and savaged ruthlessness. With just an order from Don Oleg, the whole Strelka gang could be wiped out."
"I know that, but why give Igor Romanov what he wants..." I trailed and waited for him to catch on my words but he looked on at me cluelessly so I decided to explain."You see, Igor wants that."
"Huh? What are you saying?"
"I am saying the obvious. Igor wants to start a war, he wants bloodshed but I don't want that so I will give him what he wants to avoid any of that. If Don Oleg finds out about this, do you know the first thing he will do? He will get everyone close to Igor killed as a warning to Igor and that is enough to make Igor go ahead and just bomb the place. If he does that, it will not only get unnecessary attention from the government but it will annoy Don Oleg more and that could just start a war between the two gangs. Let's not forget about how badly this will also affect Mr O'Neal, the investor for the guns. You do know he is our aid whenever we have issues with the police or government right? Anything that could affect him will be bad for us." I hoped my detailed explanation was enough to make him understand my motive for wanting to keep Igor Romanov's demand from Don Oleg.
"And if an investigation is launched concerning the warehouse, Mr O'Neal wouldn't be able to take care of it for us because he could already be answering for it at his office." I heard Konstantin say and was happy that he could see my point.
"Yes. No one else should know about today, I will take care of it and make sure it doesn't get wild beyond control. All you have to do is not let anyone know about it."
"Even Lenin?" He asked about his brother.
"Especially not Lenin." I let him know. He had no idea but Lenin had being trying so hard to buy Don Oleg over for some reason I do not care about but what I know is that if he got to find out about today and Igor Romanov's demand, he could let Don Oleg know about it.
Konstantin and I were leaning against my car as we spoke. A knock came from behind me and I turned around and saw Jewel knocking on the glass of the window. She was finally awake.
