Chapter 78 Breaking apart!
|| Author POV ||
His palm slid to her cheek in a chilling slow motion. Rosa flinched at his touch and looked at his deadly eyes with her teary one.
“Say that again.”
Rosa couldn’t form any more words in fear. Her heart was feeling unstable. Killian’s fingers curled tighter around her cheek, not enough to hurt but enough to make her understand that there was no gentleness left in him now for her.
Rosa sniffed in fear. She wasn’t even sure what he’ll do to her now.
Her trembling pupils moved to meet his. Her body filled with goosebumps watching that dangerous look on his face. Even her nerves cried with fear.
“You think you can run away now?” Killian leaned closer. “You think you get to hate me and leave?”
Rosa stopped breathing. The man before her wasn’t the one she knew. His eyes were sharp with something feral, like a stranger wearing the skin of his.
He looked dangerous. Murderous. And it terrified her even more.
“Eh.” A soft squeak escaped from her lips when he pushed her to him and dragged her forcefully to her bed.
Rosa panicked the moment he pushed her on the bed. She panicked even more watching him hovering over her. She shook her head.
“Please–Let m-me go..” she muttered, trying to sit but she was pushed back.
Killian’s hand softly cradled her tear soaked face. His large body caging her.
“You are my little girlfriend. How can you think I’ll let you go?” his voice came out venomous, eyes glaring at her. Rosa’s soul left her body.
Is he not going to let her go?
What will he do to her?
Killian’s hand slid behind her head, pulling her face to his with a sudden jerk just as Rosa suddenly cried out.
Her hands flew to her neck, fingers clutching the skin where pain bloomed again. The same sharp sting from before. Her thick sobs broke out, her grip trembling over the spot.
Killian’s eyes narrowed, tracking her distress. He pried her hand away gently, only to see the tiny dot, barely visible but unmistakable.
The needle mark.
It didn’t take a second for him to understand. ‘So that’s how she found out?’
Killian clenched his jaw. A quiet sigh slipped through his nose. He knew the drug had been heavy on her but he hadn’t expected the aftereffects to linger this long. Nerves clawed at his chest as he stared at the mark. His own doing.
His fingertip brushed the spot with unexpected tenderness making Rosa scoot away. Her body jerked with a frightened hiccup. And then her teary eyes met his, full of pain.
Killian swallowed. His hot breath fanned against her sensitive skin.
“I’m sorry.” he whispered, his voice hoarse and deep. “I’m sorry I caused you this pain.”
Before Rosa could respond, his head dropped, pressing into the crook of her neck, hiding his face. “I’m really sorry, bunny.” he whispered again.
His tongue found the soft skin of her neck. The tip brushed right over the mark.
Rosa whimpered. She raised her hand, maybe to push him away but before she could resist, Killian caught her wrist and pinned it to the sheets.
“Aa-ah!” she cried out with a tremble in her voice.
There was something terrifying in the way he moved, like a predator cloaked in human skin. And she was too afraid to even flinch.
Her eyes clenched shut when Killian swirled his tongue across her neck. Her cries shifted, becoming more desperate, more breathless as he dipped deeper, taking a mouthful of her skin between his lips.
He sucked, not with hunger but as if trying to soothe the pain he himself had caused. As if tasting the mark would erase what he did.
Rosalie raised her chest. The unwanted pleasure was filling her lungs. She doesn’t want this!
Rosa tried to free her hands but she was too weak against him. Her body jolted when his lips pressed a kiss on her skin.
Frantic, she kicked her legs weakly, helpless and trapped. Her mind screamed.
She didn’t belong to a criminal!
Her heart cried with pain. He doesn’t care about her. She doesn’t even know what he wants from her.
“Aaa-haah!” her body trembled as she burst into cries.
“Ngh.” Killian’s low groan rumbled against her skin, fire flaring behind his eyes.
His blood boiled with the cruelty of his own need, with the harsh truth that she was his and she had no choice but to accept it, whether she wanted to or not!
Killian parted from her skin and stared at her face. His gaze hardened at the sight of her face drenched in tears and sweat, in pain and fear.
Her sobs were barely human. Small shattered gasps were breaking from her lips as she stared at him with moist lilacs. She was still trying to convince her it wasn’t true. She continuously blinked her eyes to clear her vision.
“Don’t cry.” Killian purred but there was no softness in his voice, just cold steel. A command.
Her lips moved in and out of her mouth with each tremble. “Why did you..do this to me? Y-yo-you l-lied to m-me. Y-you b-betrayed me.”
Killian silently watched her complaining “Y-you b-broke your promise. You h-hide things from me. I-i t-trusted you. Y-you broke my trust..” she turned her head away, hiccuping “I-i don’t want t-to live with m-murderer–”
Her last words boiled his blood.
“You are staying with me!” he growled thunderously. “With or without your will. It’s final!”
His gaze was lethal, sharp enough to cut through bone. The room felt heavier like the air itself recoiled from the monster he’d become after the revelation.
Rosa shook her head furiously, tears clinging to her lashes. “I-I don’t... don’t want to stay. L-let me go.” she pleaded, voice breaking into breathless sobs. “I-I want to live...”
“You will live.” Killian hissed, staring at her like a predator about to pounce. “But only as mine. That’s the only way.”
His thumb brushed over her trembling lips, pausing on her bottom one. He pressed down slightly, watching the way it squished under his slightest touch.
“Didn’t I tell you already, bunny?” His voice dropped to a dangerous whisper. “I don’t let go of what’s mine.”
His piercing blue eyes locked with her lavender ones, wild and unwavering like an animal. “And you–You’re mine. There’s no escape. Be obedient and you will accept the way it is. You won’t test me!” he commanded with dominance.
But when Rosa shook her head, one more denial, one more plea for freedom, something snapped in him.
Killian grabbed her face again, jerking her chin up roughly. He didn’t want to hurt her but she was getting on his nerves.
“I SAID YOU ARE NOT LEAVING MEANS–YOU. ARE. NOT!” His words cracked like a whip through the air, making her flinch harder.
Then without waiting, Killian slammed his mouth onto hers in a punishing force. His kiss was raw, too rough like he was trying to silence her resistance and brand her soul with his own madness.
Rosa’s toes curled, eyes blown wide with shock. Her body stiffened. She struggled hard enough to free her hands and pushed the criminals’ chest.
Her actions fueled his anger.
His teeth sank into her lip with a sharp bite. “Mmph-Aaaah!” A loud, startled cry escaped her lips.
His arms slid beneath hers effortlessly, capturing her lips again and pulled her flush against his hardened body. Her whimpers grew louder as she tried to pull away but his lips pressed deeper, swallowing her protests. Her body vanished under the monster.
Killian tasted the salt of her tears. His teeth grazed tender skin with a cruel edge causing her pain. Yet he was unbothered because the rage was so high.
He had been acting calm all the way till now. Her resistance only deepened the wildness in his eyes.
He didn’t want to get called a killer by her.
He couldn’t see her pushing him away. It was confusing. He knew he wasn’t letting her go. He wanted to silence her, just as obedient as before.
Rosa’s palm pressed flat against his back while his hungry lips ravaged hers with brutal insistence. Her legs quivered beneath her, brushing the cold sheets while his mouth stretched hers, pulling roughly like he was venting his anger on her poor self.
Now Rosa understands how dangerous this man can be.
He will use her now. Not gently anymore. His soul was stained with darkness and his touch soaked in bloodlust.
She finally realized the cruel words he’d spoken: that he didn’t love her, yet claimed her as his own. Kept her to himself. It wasn’t love. It was lust. It was always how much he craved to touch her. She was a tool for him.
A vessel for his unyielding desire.
He wanted nothing but her body. Her submission.
Her mind twisted in turmoil, refusing to grasp the depth of her fate. Her fingers twitched weakly, powerless beneath his weight.
Her heart shattered, fracturing into pieces with the bitter realization: she was just being used. And she is still being used.
Rosa’s silent tear traced a lonely path down her cheek as she flinched under his ruthless hold. Lips against lips, molded together. Killian broke away briefly, letting her gasp for precious air but barely had she caught a breath before he pressed again.
Killian’s legs shifted, trapping her more tightly, pulling her closer into his unforgiving grasp. Fear paralyzed Rosa. She could no longer move, no longer fight. There was only pain. Her eyes squeezed shut when his teeth sank deeper, fresh tears spilling over.
When he pulled back for a fleeting moment, she barely exhaled a broken breath “Haah–” before his lips claimed hers again roughly.
He showed no trace of guilt, no flicker of remorse. He was forcing her, taking what he wanted with savage intensity, uncaring of the damage left behind.
How foolish of her to live in the den of a lion.
Unknown by the truth. Lied. Betrayed. A choked breath escaped her lips when he pulled away again. Rosa thought he’d strike again but instead, a sharp sigh broke the silence.
“You left me no choice!”
That’s all Killian said before moving away.
He ignored her swollen, bitten lips. No words came out of her mouth. She was numb. Unable to process anything.
‘L-let m-me go.’ Her weak voice came out like a breath but no one heard. Her head spun and she heard the click of the door locking.
She was locked in. Trapped. Like an animal caged.
Rosa weakly turned her body, letting her cheek press against the bed. Soon she broke in heavy cries. Her heart squeezed in pain. Her lips ached. He had just assaulted her without her consent.
Finally showing his true self.
Was he always like this? She never even realised. Never thought a day like this would come.
‘He’s heartless. A monster.’ Those words echoed violently in her mind, witnessing his brutality.
“Please–” Rosa pleaded to none. Her words dissolved into a fragile whimper. And the silence swallowed her cries.
Rosa gripped the bedsheet like it was her last lifeline. Her body quaked with every sob.
She felt so worthless, helpless and pathetic. Maybe she was going to die in the hand of the man she loved.
His father caused her parents death, now he’ll kill her too.
Well, he had already murdered her innocent soul. Her trust. Her heart. Everything.
Will he also chop off her little fingers once he’s bored of her body?
Will he tear her apart piece by piece when his hunger fades?
Will he kill her just as brutally as that man?
After all, he had no heart. No human with a heart could kill. He doesn’t even have anything for her. Yet, that cold, merciless man had touched her with those ruthless hands, hands stained with the blood of countless others. Rosa didn’t even dare to imagine how many.
She doesn’t want to die that cruelly. She will escape from him. She wants to live.
Rosa flipped, laying on her stomach before hiding her face into her frail arms, weeping with hiccupped sobs.
“I-I’m sorry, Momma. I’m sorry, Papa. Pl-please forgive me.”
Every word felt like a knife twisting inside her chest.
The helplessness was suffocating and she wondered if the world outside even cared about the pieces of her breaking apart.
