Chapter 62 Mysterious news
Chapter 62
Mysterious news
Damon pov
I sat on my majestic throne, clenching
my fingers hard on the armrest as my eyes trained on each of my commanders seated in the hall.
Milo squirmed by my side. It was just like he had been squirming throughout the training section. He thought I didn't notice the pleading in his eyes, the way his body would tense at intervals, the faint blush that would creep up his neck every time our skin made contact.
But I just didn't care, no…, I did care but in my own way. My sadistic and evil side savored every bit of his discomfort of undergoing harsh training while having a plug lodged deep inside him, just as I have left it. It was a punishment, and he knows that. but seeing his flushed cheeks and exhausted expression…
I knew that maybe, just maybe, I might have been overbearing, maybe a little too harsh even.
A warning growl tore through my throat when the boy in my arms whimpered unconsciously from the combined pressure of the elders and commanders that were locked on him. I could see the fear radiating out of him like a dark smoke,
I let my own aura roll out in waves in response, clashing with the elders that were hell-bent on making Milo suffer silently. My aura expanded, and within seconds, it wrapped around milo like a blanket canceling the elders malicious aura.
I saw Milo's tensed shoulders relax, his breath became even. The fear and pressure were gone. Without a word, I hooked my arm under him and drew him closer into my lap aware of his ass brushing above my cock.
Hungry, hooded eyes followed my hands secured possessively on Milos' waist. i could see the looks of shocks and others dusgust, but like they all should knw, i never give a fuck about anybodys opinion.
“What!” I started after they had their fill, “is the meaning of summoning me here?”
My voice boomed like thunder on purpose. I protected my alpha authority in my voice.
There was a collective gasp of breath,
One of the Elders, a hawk-nosed man with too-bright eyes, stood up. “Ever since the arena saga, we have been requesting your presence for weeks, my king. But every time you have been… unavailable.”
He said the last words with a sarcastic tone. But before I could talk… probably to tell him to shove his request up his hairy ass, another voice cut in, sharp and venomous. It was no other person but one of my commanders, general Grath. “My king, we summoned you because of this abomination.”
His finger jabbed toward Milo accusingly,
Rage rose up my throat like a hot bile, my aura threatened to explode at the instant,
“Choose your words carefully, Grath else…”
“Else what my king?” he snapped, not in the least backing down. “Would you have my head for saying the truth?”
A deep growl tore through my chest reverberated through the hall, I was slowly losing it. “How dare you?”
“Enough,” the oldest elder, stood up, his voice carrying authority and wisdom, his gaze sweeping the room. “The pack is in tension, people are in panic, my king. They are weary of the… boy that is among our midst. And they have reason to be. Your actions in recent weeks… have not gone unnoticed.”
For a heartbeat, I had a dangerous thought that they knew. About the massacre in the forest, the rogues…
“You dare question my actions?” The air turned cold, a faint sizzling sound like water boiling continued to echo in the hall. I could feel Milo’s body tensed up on my lap.
The hall fell into a deep silence, no one daring to be the first to speak up. The elder in question was the worst, his face became even paler, his frail body looked like he would break from the mental strain from the pressure that descended upon him.
He looked like he was one step to his grave already.
Looking in their faces, I could see the deep fear of the unknown. We were the unrighteous pack, the ones not under the Supreme council, everyday that passes without war is a lucky day for us.
We have lived all our lives ìn fear of the council. That is why the fears and concerns of my people were justified, and if it was in normal circumstances, I would not hesitate in my decisions… but Milo was still like a mysterious puzzle I am yet to figure out. He is nothing like a normal circumstances, it was obvious in the forest where he killed fifteen rogues alone. When the threat of the council continues to loom around our neck, any unexplained event becomes a demon to us.
When it seemed like no one was about to answer, genera Grath stood up again, his eyes blazing with fire. “You have grown careless, alpha, Weak even, All because you have let that thing sit on your lap like a favored whore.”
“You…”
Milo stiffened, I saw red, already standing up to crush the bastard's windpipe, but somebody else was faster than me.
Milo!
“I will rather be a whore than a coward who hides behind a chair to bark at men stronger than him,” he said, with a steady voice that contrasted to the squirming boy in the training.
I paused,
The room suddenly went still
General Grath's face darkened, changing to different shades of shock, surprised, until it settled on rage. The pressure of a commander, an authority only second to me slammed down like a sledge hammer, its target on the boy on my lap. I readied myself to intervene,
But I was given another shock that made my jaws drop,
Milo didn’t flinch, not for a second. Instead he jumped down from my laps, and took a step forward, shoulders squared, chin high. And in that moment, I felt something familiar brew in the air, a dangerous and wild air protecting him from the malicious pressure of general Grath.
I leaned to stop it, but on a second thought, a small smile crept to my face, as I leaned back on my throne to watch the show.
“What did you just say little boy” Grath eyes looked like it would start shooting invisible lasers.
“I am not an abomination, my name is Milo and I would rather be a whore than a coward.”
The word tore from his throat like a bomb, my cock twitched uncomfortable in my boxers in response.
The hall became even quieter, like a grave yard. The other elders and commanders seated had a look of shock and something else. I could see it in their eyes, a light that wasn't there before.
General Grath's face twisted into an ugly expression, he rose to his full height, letting his full dominance and aura of a superior wolf spill over. It was oppressive, the kind that could make weak alphas crumble to their knees.
Only… it did nothing when it reached Milo. Like a smoke escaping a chimney it broke apart, vanishing into thin air like nothing had happened.
General Grath blinked, his confused face contorting into unbelief and shame. As he pushed harder, his growl rumbling in the air. Still nothing happened. Milo’s small frame stood rigid, his fists clenched tightly beside him in defiance, despite standing under the full might of my commander, a being that can rival an alpha.
My wolf dax, howled in joy and acknowledgment.
“I am not an abomination,” Milo said, his voice calm like he was trying to brand it into everyone's soul. “Do you hear me? All of you, I am.done bowing to the world. I am.dome pretending like I deserve all the maltreatment being thrown at me…”
The air shifted, just before a primal oppressive aura descended, like an ancient beast that had awakened, it filled the whole hall commanding submission.
General Grath froze, before he took a step back. It was a trivial thing but everyone seated in the room was a being that was stronger than any other packs beta.
I caught the flicker of something I had never expected to see on his face…fear.
“Did you hear me, I said I am done being weak…” Milo steps didn’t falter, instead it became more refined and composed. The pressure increases with each step.
Murmurs and whispers filled the room. Commander Grath was the leader of the shield units, known for their sturdiness, but here he was stumbling back from an omega like a man staring into the eyes of a predator that shouldn’t exist. Everyone had a cautious gaze but they wouldn't dare act when I was there.
Milo took another step, his voice barely more than a whisper, but it echoed through the silent room.
“You should be careful who you call a beast… because some of us don’t mind becoming one.”
The elders’ expressions finally shifted. Some stumbled in their seats, while others had a calculating gaze in their eyes, as if they were just seeing Milo for the first time.
And truth be told… I was too.
“Milo!” I moved before the tension could snap. Crossing the space that separated us in a second. He didn’t flinch, didn’t even seem to hear me. His gaze was still locked on the trembling Commander, like the man was the embodiment of everything that had ever hurt him.
I didn’t hesitate. I scooped him up, my arms going around him, as I brought him to my chest. The moment we touched…
Like water draining from a sink, his aura vanished instantly. The oppressive weight in the hall vanished. Followed by a silence so thick that the sound of a pin dropping could be heard.
For a long 5 minutes the entire hall was silent. No one even dared to breathe louder…
The hall doors burst open, breaking the spell on the hall. As everyone's attention shifted to the new person.
A servant boy stumbled in gasping for air, his terrified face looking as pale as the moon. “My Lords…” He bent over, hands on his knees, catching his breath.
“The people, everyone in the pack… they are dying.”
“What!!”
And just like that, the whole hall erupted into chaos.
