Chapter 31 True Alpha

Chapter 31 True Alpha
Chapter 31: True alpha

Damon pov

“Alpha Xavier Ravenshadow…”

His name tasted like pure acid in my tongues, I forced myself not to scrunch up my face in disgust. My claws continue to twitch beside me.

“To what do I owe this surprising visit, Magnus”

He tensed from my tone before stepping out and bowing in a sign of respect.

“Before I start, my Alpha, I am just here as a mediator.”

“Really?” I licked my lips barely holding Dax back, and the presence of Milo's father was not even helping at all. The relaxed looks on their faces when I came in were gone, now replaced by tight and weary expressions, like a thread was hanging below their neck. I savored their fear, which was oozing like blood from their body.

“I was told this meeting was about politics… and to discuss if your pack is still loyal to the circle.”

Magnus laughed like an idiot, waving a hand. “Nonsense, I can never betray the circle, my king. Like I said earlier, Alpha Xavier is an old friend of mine, and he insisted on me tagging along to your humble abode. He says he’s come to settle debts.”

I raised a lazy eyebrow, not in the least surprised at all.

The bastard stepped forward. “Alpha…”

“That's my king to you, righteous alpha” James snarled from the corner, cutting him short.

“M…my king… I have brought the full amount that my pack was owing you.” He unzipped a bag, filled with wraps and wraps of cool cash, an amount that would make some alphas drool. But to me, they were nothing but mere papers.”

I choose not to say anything, allowing him to continue making a fool of himself.

“Old friend” Magnus began, stepping forward, “I didn't come as an adversary, but as a brother. There are things we must consider…like a delicate case like this.”

I fought the urge to yawn, I simply stared, a bored expression plastering my face.

He continued in a diplomatic but cautious tone. “The boy…Milo… was a pact made by two leaders of a pack. The contract is binding and...

“The boy is mine,” I snapped. I was already on the verge of losing it.

“We know, Alpha Damon. But the contract says that he should be returned after the debts have been made in full.”

I raised a brow. “You think I care about some parchment?”

Magnus' eyes flickered. “Still, Alpha Damon, We both know you Don't make enemies to play fair. If you do this, it will provoke unrest in the inner circle. And seeing that it's a pack, the council might get involved.”

I leaned forward.

“I do not care,” I said slowly, venom coiling in every word, “even if the heavens are crumbling and the seas are drying up. He stays.”

Magnus sighed, a deep breath of surrender, and stepped back.

Milo’s father stepped forward, eyes sharp, mouth twisted in a false smile.

“Damon… my king,” he said too sweetly. “You seem… confused. You’re a man of reason. And surely you see how bad this looks, harboring my son against his will…”

“He is not your son,” I snapped, finally rising from the throne, my voice laced with wrath. “You sold him because you were drowning in your own debts. You sold him for coin. You used him as a sacrifice for your pack.”

His lips coiled into a snarl, his aura flowing out of his body.

“Then… perhaps a challenge is the only way to settle this,” he said bitterly. “Alpha to Alpha.”

James stiffened,

My wolf dax, that has been itching for action, chuckled.

I saw red.

My aura exploded as I took a step down, one at a time. My aura increased with each step.

a slow clap echoed across the throne room, followed by the sound of the doors slamming shut, echoed like thunder. The torches flickered. The fire in my chest burned even brighter, letting out the pent-up frustration I had been holding up on the two imbeciles in my front.

“The rumors are true… You are a true alpha.”

Milo's father mumbled, Color draining from his face. He suddenly looked like someone who had just seen a ghost. I could see the deep-rooted fear flashing in their surprise eyes.

“Did you just challenge a true alpha? A pathetic Alpha who doesn't know the true ranking of powers.” My voice boomed like thunder. The air shifted, vibrating together with the power humming under me.

I let my aura break free like a storm filled with blades. It filled the whole room, rippling through the air like Invincible but sharp and lethal knives.

James tensed, eyes wide. Even Alpha Kirien took a slow, calculated step back. His face was on high alert.

But Milo's father, like the fool that he was, held his ground, holding on to his pathetic pride.

“Say it again,” I said, my voice almost a whisper. “Challenge me again… and you will leave here with more than regret. You will leave in pieces.”

Visible fear flashed across his face.

“I… I only meant…”

“You meant to insult me in my own court by giving me a boy disguised as a girl. You didn't honor the agreement from the start. ” My voice rose, sharp as a dagger. “As if that is not enough, you come here with empty courage and a mere piece of paper to demand him back.”

James stepped forward. “No one leaves until the Alpha says so.”

“Tell me, Ravenshadow.” I strode closer, the smell of cheap whiskey filling my nostrils. “It's either you take me as a fool, or you are desperate for a death wish.”

Blood drained from his face. As the weight of everything, the danger they have so foolishly walked into dawned on them. Xavier stumbled back, unable to withstand my aura. His wide eyes darted to Magnus, who remained silent, watching me with a careful, cautious expression.

“I didn’t come for blood, my king.” Milo's father croaked, voice breaking. “I came… I came for my son.”

My hand moved, snatching the parchment from his hands before he could react.

“This is your claim?” I said, raising the piece of parchment, to make sure he saw everything with his two eyes.

Without wasting time, a rippling sound filled the room. Slowly and deliberately, I tore the parchment, piece by piece.

The last shred fluttered to the floor like ashes.

“Noooo. You…You can’t do that!” Milo's father screamed in a terrified voice. “It’s binding!”

Magnus stepped forward. “Alpha Damon, come on…”

“Sit down!” I snapped, the shadows in the room danced, with the tone of my voice.

My wolf purred in agreement.

Milo’s father stammered, “Y…You can’t just keep him like some pet! He’s my son!”

My fist curled at my side.

“You have no rights here,” I said. “From now on, he is mine. And if I see you near him again…” I smiled darkly, brandishing my claws that glittered even in the dime light., “I won’t just rip a piece of paper next time... I will rip something that screams.”

“Please, you can have my daughter as your pet. She is a beautiful and strong girl, and alpha blood runs through her veins. She will be more beneficial to you than a worthless Omega.”

I froze, and pregnant silence descended. And for a moment, their eyes lifted with hope. Any reasonable person would choose an alpha girl who can give more heirs to a weak omega boy who had nothing to offer. But I was never known to be a reasonable person.

“my answer will always be NOO!” My words came like the whispers of death.

The man nearly collapsed under his own pride. “Nooo, I will make sure you regret this…”

I blocked whatever nonsense he was saying. I turned back to James, suddenly bored of everything. “Get them out.”

James grinned, “my pleasure.”

Then I walked past them all, heading straight to the only place that had been in my mind all this time.

I desperately needed to see him,

My boy.

And this time, I wasn’t leaving him in silence.
