Chapter 76 SHE'S A SPY!
Hank Reyes was sitting at the corner of the large, deserted room. A cup of coffee in his hands.

He didn't trust Dante Marchetti and yet his guts told him that the man would not let him go that easily. He had no reason to poison him.

“Dante would skin you alive if he knows what you are about to do.” Alessio says.

He's holding a cigarette but he doesn't light it.

“I'm doing what Dante would have instructed me to do if not for that cagna!” Russo says dropping a laptop on the desk.

“Watch your mouth, that's Dante's woman you're talking about.” Alessio says, his face hardening
“That's Dante's downfall.” Russo spat back. “She's a spy and I will prove it.”

“If you think Dante has lost his rage then you don't know who the man is.” Alessio says quietly, as if he's reminiscing.

“He wants to quit the Alessio case because someone kidnapped his frail and innocent Anya Ivanov.” Russo says in a mocking tone.

Russo's eyes are bloodshot, his face is red as a tomato, highlighting the many scars that mark his temples and cheeks.

He types something on his laptop and lifts his gaze to Hank who had been watching everything quietly.

It seems the rumours are true. Someone has finally captured the devil's heart.

Hank had expected Dante to come because they had his property. He'd expected the man to walk in, make his claim and announce to the entire world to hear that whoever touches his woman, dies.

But it was different.

The man that had driven through the gates of that warehouse looked like he had everything to lose. He looked like a man that was thrown to the edge of the world and was fighting for something to hold on to.

It had shocked Hank. Rewritten everything he thought he knew about Dante Marchetti.

The way he'd gently carried her, begged her to open her eyes even if it was for a second.

The loudness of Russo's cursing pulled Hank out of his thoughts and he turned to see Russo pointing a finger at Alessio.

Hank brought the coffee to his lips and took a light sip. It tasted normal, cold, but normal.

“You're meddling in his business. I will not advice you to stop. I genuinely don't care what happens to you.”

Alessio turned his gaze to Hank as if in salute and then he walked out of the door, leaving him with Russo.

“Tell me everything you know about this Ivan.”
