Chapter 64 Chapter 64
The road narrowded as Arthur do deeper enter the countryside. Leaving Italy behind.
Dense forest was lining up from both sides of the road, their branches still heavy with rain from the night before, and the grey morning sky was hanging low about the forest.

The black moved quickly do through the road that was very windy as they were approach in the location Marcus had received only a few minutes earlier.

Neither of these men spoke to each other and The silence inside of the vehicle had been built in up for hours. More like it was stretching very tight by and uncertainty at the same time the growing frustration of being unable to reach Lydia.

Arthur's hands remain locked around the steering wheel, his face cleansing and his eyes scanning every bend in the road ahead of them. He has spent the entire drive imagining possibilities that he did not want to imagine at all but his mind was playing multiple games with him and he could not avoid it.

And every minute that past without seeing her face had only made the darkness in his starts even horrible. The only thing that matter at this moment was to find her and keep her so safe that nobody could touch her every again.

The trees eventually opened up into a small clearing. Several vehicles stood near the edge of the forest and a handful of armed bodyguard remained position around them. The king slowed sharply before bring in the Sedan to a stop almost the mediately.

For a brief Mom and his simply stayed looking through the windshield. One of the cards roached cautiously, intending to identify the vehicle but the king did not care and without wasting another second he already was opening the door before the man got even close in after speak to him.

The moment is shoes hit the ground his eyes become searching everywhere for that one face and that one face only.

He could see the bodyguards where around a big SUV. And then he saw her.

She was partially hidden behind one of the SUV. Lydia's Big eyes looking out to see who it was. She look so small both of her hands were fested in front of such chest, more like a copping mechanism. Look so tired, extremely terrified.

Per second everything seem to have stopped for the man. The bodyguards disappeared from his side almost immediately and at the same time, so did the vehicles.

Even the sound of the forest seen to be very distant at this very moment.

Arthur saw only his wife and nobody has.

Her hair was slightly disturbled and her clothing carried traces of Dirt and dust from the morning. And despite the distance between them he could clear see the complete exhaustion written plane lay across surface. She looked so white, like she had seen a ghost. Completely pale, tired and shaken.

But apart from all of that, she was alive. Standing right in front of him.

And truth of the matter was that, Lydia felt her breathing catch back to her the moment she looked at him. It was simply pure relief hitting her so suddenly that it almost hurt her body. She had not realised how much fear she had been carrying until that exact moment. She had a pretend for hours that it was going to be okay, even though she had no idea about the future.

She did not know when the next bullet but come hit her, aur even Sofia. But she had to keep that in mind that everything was going to be okay. A false hope she was reminding herself over and over again.

All morning she had been surviving one second at a time, forcing I said not to think about what might have happened if the bodyguards failed. And if the attackers got them. What next. And if Arthur never found her.

But here she was, and the reality was very clear. It was, in fact, over.

Now she was standing right there in front of her. He found her.

That man was looking at her through the rest of the world, like it no longer existed for him. Arthur started working first, first enough the it was obvious he was fighting the earth to run. But he did not want to scare her.

She found herself moving as well, but her body was so shaking but she never start working. Neither of them said a single word to each other because they did not need to do any of that.

By the time Arthur reached her, Lydia was already close enough to see the strain on his face. Extremely close enough to see the same to shadow beneath his eyes and tension that's still have not left his shoulders. It was all clearly right in front of her and she could not have missed it for the world. Visible pain surrounding is entire body.

The moment is arms wrapped around her something inside of her finally broke. A very loud thud came when both of their chest collided on each other. Her eyes closed and she was not crying but her face couldn't hold it anymore.

None of this was painful, it was just perfectly enough.

Enough for the fear to finally leave her entire body. Liver surrounding if even and she wanted to simply be gone.

For several long moments neither of the spoke.

Arthur a lowered his headslightly, putting his face inside of a neck and close in his eyes for a long moment. He was resting his forehead inside of her hair. He could facilities feel her shaking in his arms. Not violently but just enough to tell him how close this had come and help terrified she had been.

This was not the first time she was under attack, and definitely not the first time she was shot at. But all those times he was with her and this time she had a deal with that all by herself. Until help came for her.

"Lydia." He said very quietly. The sound of her name in his voice nearly undid her almost immediately.

The king let out a small breath surrounded suspicious like really. His grip on her gooseberry tight. The king did not want to let go of her and neither did she want to let go of him.

She was holding on to her hair so tight, it was not that he was pulling on to at his simply wanted to feel every part of her and let her know that he was right there with her.

However after that moment both of them build away from each other. But he refused to let go of her. Her body was still very much attached to his. They have simply parted a waste slightly.

The bodyguards on the other hand did not look at them, rather the backed away. Looking around the place to see if there all safe.

But the king on the other hand, he look the right at her. His hands immediately moving to her face. The man was being very careful with her and extremely gentle.

His fingers brushing lightly against her she while his eyes was searching every inch of her. She was looking at her face incomplete details trying to take everything in.

Every inch of her forehead, her jaw, her shoulders and even her arms. Looking for some kind of injury and he wanted to make sure there was none.

Trying to see if they bruses by someone and looking for prove that she was in fact unharmed. It was extremely necessary for him to know any of this and everything.

She almost smile despite everything she had been through.

"Arthur." She called out for him and his eyes snapped back to her almost immediately.

"Are you hurt?." She asked her and that question came out very rough.
Almost like it was very urgent for him to know and the only thing she did was shake her head.

"I am okay." Her voice came out very small. How ever that answer did not change anything for him, rather his expression did not change either.

"Are you sure. Did anyone touch you or when the shooting started....." He went on and all about everything that could have happened when suddenly she laughed. And that even surprised him.

It was a very tiny laugh but escape. And immediately her eyes went wide open in shock and so she stopped. She did not mean to laugh and she did not laugh because any of this was funny. Because he look completely unconvinced, and that made her laugh.

"Yes." She said and his eyes went at dark.

"Did somebody touch you?." She asked and she immediately started shaking her head.

"No no...." She said convincing him. But with his facial expression she had come to understand that he was not done yet.

"Where you in any of the explosion?." She asked another one and she had come to understand that she could not tell him the entire truth. Not all the time. And not when he was like this

"No." She said quickly. And it was very quickly.

They both might not have been married for every long time. But with the close proximity they both had spend so many times together. Both husband and wife had come to understand when each other was lying. And Arthur had come to understand that she was lying at this very morning.

His face still have that worried expression but with also carried an expression of anger. And it was not even on her. Radha he simply wanted to hear the truth from her.

"Lydia... Please."

He said, begging for reality. But the thing was this man bed for nothing because he take everything he could. How ever this time he begged.

She gave him a very soft smile. Mostly because she had come to understand that he needed it.

"Arthur, trust me I am okay now. Your bodyguards didn't let anything happen to me. And this time I am not lying to you." She said being completely and very completely true to him.

But the man was simply looking at her for another longer moment as the try to understand or decide whether he wanted to believe her. Or if he could even believe her.

And then his hands slided right into her hair.

"I was so scared." The king himself confessed. Saying that out loud with surprised her but he was well aware of what he was saying. Because the king wanted his wife to know this.

Arthur was not a man who admitted fear easily. After his father died he has never felt any fear. Aur itni Si could not allow himself to feel anything at all. And hearing that changed something inside of her.

Lydia's chest felt this very heavy load on it.

And for a second shepherd look at him and then she reached up touching the side of his face, lightly.

"I was so scared." She said being all list with with him as well. And right there and then. The man felt as his life could have simply fall in a part, if she was in standing here right here, right now.

"I am sorry.... For everything Lydia. I did this to you." He said saying everything that was spotted inside a friend all this time. If finally said everything that he should have said the first time.

"Arthur." She called out his name but her into a hug. On the because he refused to believe this first reality. That she was really here.

But he wanted her to hear him out.

"I never going to let anything happen to you. Never again." And he was not only saying that to her. This was the promise he was making himself.

Slowly he pulled away from her. Even though he did not want to do.

Arthur look down briefly to her lips before lifting back into her eyes. And then he went down immediately capture in her lips. Holding her so tight and their at that moment she did not have any fear.

The kiss was filled with passion.

There was no urgently but desperation. And this time it came from both of them.

Search like passion and more like relief finally finding somewhere to go. She just him back immediately. Har fingers holding tightly to his coat. While shey closed her eyes. And for a few seconds The Chaos of the morning disappeared completely.

There was no guns and no attacks. And no fear for the
first time is the morning. That was only the simple fact that they had found each other again. But he found her first. And she escape to live.
