Chapter 51 Chapter 51

Chapter 51 Chapter 51
By the time they reached and returned to Lydia's house. The sky outside had darkened completely. The city is wrapped in deep shade of blue and gold beneath the glow of street lights and distant buildings.

The long day has settled heavily into both of them. Now not unpleasant but with the kind of exhaustion and that came after too many emotions, too many hours spent together carrying things neither of them have spoken fully aloud.

But having spent time together, was kind of peaceful.

The car slowed through the gates and rolled quietly upon the driveway, while soft music was still playing lowly in the back through the speaker. The headlights swept briefly across the front of the house, illuminating stone walls and the tall windows before fading again, as the engine finally shut off.

And the cars behind them. The multiple body guards driving behind them, they also slowed down.

For the moment, neither of these women moved. Maybe it was exhaustion or maybe it was just a piece of not doing anything. How Lydia remained in the passenger seat, and now it was crazy quietly. Her head now resting lightly against the seat behind her.

The shopping bags now crowded near her feet, on the back, on the trunk of the car. It was a endless spree and it was needless to say that there was a heavy ache in her body.

And it had finally started catching up to her, now that the distraction of the day had come to an end, and faded almost immediately.

Her shoulders felt heavy and her mind now much quiet. Than it had been that early morning or last night. But still emotionally worn in a way that even sleep probably wouldn't be fixing it.

Sophia, on the other hand, glance sideways at her. While unfastening her seat belt.

"You alive over there? You look like I would have to carry you back into the house." She said and this made Lydia let out a heavy breath, with a small laugh.

Her body just made her do that.

"Barely. You have made me eat so much, walk so much and then in the end put on so many clothing. I feel alive and tired at the same time." Lydia muttered.

Sophia softly laughed at all that she said.

"That's fine." She replied immediately.

"I've brought enough clothes today to revive you spiritually. More than that I can't do anything, but this was definitely fun." She said.

"Really?" Lydia asked.

"Hmm... After doing so many meetings, wearing all those heels, talking to people and I don't care about and carrying my beautiful tote bags. All that is good and okay, but spending time with the quality girl is the next level of beauty and peace." She said. Meaning every single word of it.

That statement earned quite laughter from Lydia. It was soft now from exhaustion, but real enough to make Sophia smile to herself before stepping out of the car.

"Come on... let's go. I need to see your house and maybe rest in there." She said and Lydia took off her seat belt.

"Hmmm sure. I can show you my house. But I have to let you know, it is nothing like Arthur's mansion, or that palace kind of a place." She said and Sophia looked at that decent house and smiled.

"Well, it still looks like a home to me." She said, getting out and Lydia was happy with what she said.

The night air outside was cold, very cool, but extremely fresh. Now against Lydia skin as she followed more slowly behind. The guards immediately, all of them moved the moment they arrived the place.

Already opening the trunk carefully, lifting out the endless collection of shopping bags, garment boxes that Sophia had some how accumulated through the day or throughout the day.

Lydia stood there, looking at the amount of boxes that were getting into her house. And in complete disbelief as well. More so ever Sophia.

"I have to say. I had a great time." She said muttering out extremely tired.

"But this is genuinely insane. I have never shopped like this in my entire life." She said and Sophia only smiled, placing her hand on her stomach. Her smile brighter than ever.

"I don't know what you're talking about. This is just a small amount of shopping ..... just.... happy shopping." She said and Lydia only shook her head.

"No these are enough bags here to financially ruin a small country." She reminded her and Sophia only shrugged her shoulder.

"And yet, somehow I still showed restraint through out the day." She said, holding on to Lydia and walking towards the house.

Lydia was shaking her head, laughing under her breath to stop on another faint smile as they stopped and stepped inside. The house was dark when the doors opened.

Guards put all of the bags in the living room, not trying to get into the private house.

There was just a deep quiet in a way that made the large space feel even bigger at night. It was definitely not a feeling of abandonment, just a cold  feeling.

The guards carried the final bag inside, before placing them neatly near the staircase. One of the men straightened afterwards and nodded respectfully towards Lydia.

"We will remain outside ma'am. Please to call for us if you need anything at all." He said, and Lydia smiled, while nodded her head softly.

The moment later the doors closed again, leaving the women alone inside the dim house. Sofia, on the other hand, got a little comfortable in the house and sat down on one of the couches.

She was almost ready to fall asleep. But Lydia was not going to let that happen because whatever it was, whatever the situation was at the moment. She had a guest at home.

And Lydia walked up to the kitchen taking the bag that still had a lot of food inside of it. Something Sophia was planning to keep in the restaurant, but Lydia being from a household that kept things preserved, and brought things home, not to waste anything.

She took those bags back to the kitchen, unboxing all of them . Ready to eat, but slightly fresh still.

However, Sophia was still resting on the couch. Moaning and almost falling asleep.

Lydia was happy to not be alone right now. A smile falling on her face as she
was walking towards the oven. She had a friend. She really did have a friend.
