Chapter 309

Chapter 309
“I thought I was already your wife,” she murmured, her voice soft, almost unsure, like she was afraid the words might vanish if she said them too loud.

I smirked through the tears burning my eyes. “That was a position I took by force, baby,” I said quietly. “Now I’m asking you—no.” My voice broke. I swallowed hard. “I’m begging you to grant me that position. Be my wife, and I swear on everything I hold dear—which is you and now, Leah—you will never regret it.”

She stared at me.

Really stared.

Conflicted. Shocked. So tired it hurt to look at her. And yet… weak where I was concerned. She had always been weak to me, just as I was undone by her.

I leaned in, pressing harder, my voice rough. “Say yes.”

Her brows furrowed. “What’s going to change?”

I exhaled, trying to sound light and teasing. “You’ll have your dream wedding, for one.”

She giggled despite herself, and the sound nearly knocked the air out of my lungs. God. That laugh. I had missed it more than blood in my veins.

“And,” I added, shameless, “now we get to kiss in front of the altar. I also get to fuck you properly in your wedding gown.”

She tried, and failed, not to smile. “You already did that.”

I shrugged. “I meant after. Not before. I did that then, because I knew I wouldn’t get the opportunity later.” My tone softened, eyes locked on hers. “But now? I’m not going anywhere. Say yes, baby.”

“I—”

I did not let her finish.

I reached for her and started tickling her mercilessly.

“Oh my God!” she squealed, trying to pull away, laughter breaking free despite her protests. “Isaiah, stop—stop tickling me!”

“Say yes.”

She laughed harder, breathless, trying to escape me, but I followed, relentless. “Say yes, Tamara.”

She stumbled, fell into me, and I caught her just as we both went down, laughing and tangled on the floor. I still did not stop.

“Say yes,” I warned, fingers digging into her sides. “Or I won’t stop.”

“Yes!” she shouted.

“Yes what?” I pressed.

“Yes, I’ll marry you, you ass!”

I froze.

Slowly, I lifted my pinky finger between us. “Wait,” I said cautiously. “For real?”

She smiled, chest rising and falling as she caught her breath. “I don’t know,” she teased, eyes flicking to my hand. “There’s no ring—”

I was already on my feet.

I sprinted to the closet, yanked open the drawer, and grabbed the box I had hidden there, bought the very first day I knew I was coming back to her.

Behind me, she laughed.

I walked back to her, knelt without a word, and slid the ring onto her finger.

“There,” I said quietly. “You were saying?”

She stared at her hand like it was glowing.

Her eyes shimmered, fixed on the ring as if it were the most beautiful thing she had ever seen.

“Are these diamonds?” she asked, aghast.

“Yep,” I purred, chest swelling with pride.

“These look expensive, Isaiah.”

I smirked. I knew you’d complain, princess.

“They aren’t that expensive,” I lied smoothly. “And besides, you need something that heavy so people like Reed know to stay off your back.”

Her head snapped up. “You know about Reed?”

I shrugged. “I knew he was always eye-fucking you with his eyes, princess. And if he wasn’t careful, he was going to lose them.”

She slapped my chest. “Stop threatening my colleague.”

“Your colleague that wants to fuck you?”

She blushed. Hard. “He doesn’t want to f-fuck me.”

I frowned. “Wait.” I shook my head. “You’re blushing. Why are you blushing? Do you like him?”

“Oh my God,” she groaned, throwing her head back. “Yes. I want to fuck him. That’s why I was celibate for a whole fucking year and some months-- because I was waiting on him. Real mature.”

She shoved me and stood up.

Shit.

She was angry.

I scrambled to pull on shorts and chased after her. “Come on, baby. You wouldn’t blame me, would you? I saw the way he looked at you.”

She ignored me, walked straight to the fridge, pulled out a bottle of milk, and poured herself a glass.

I moved behind her, caging her in with my arms on either side, my body pressing into her back.

“I’m sorry, princess,” I murmured into her ear.

She shivered. Her grip tightened on the cup.

I smirked. She could pretend all she wanted. I knew her better than I knew myself.

“What do I do to get you to forgive me?” I whispered. “Hmm?”

My palm slid around her waist, firm, and possessive, pulling her back against me as I kissed her neck, slow and intentional, blowing soft kisses that made her breath hitch.

She elbowed me weakly. “Stop distracting me. I’m trying to be upset.”

I spun her around in one swift movement until she was facing me. “You can be upset while I pleasure you, baby,” I said lowly. “Show you that I know your body better than Reed ever could.”

She groaned, torn between anger and need. Her cheeks flushed, her eyes darkened, desire betraying her even as she tried to hold onto her irritation.

I lifted her effortlessly and placed her on the kitchen counter. Spread her legs wide.
She let me.

Her eyes were blown and hungry, staring at me like she wanted to devour me right there, even while her mouth still tried to look annoyed.

I smirked and dropped to my knees.

The moment my lips touched her pussy, the moment my tongue flicked her clit, she arched violently, a scream tearing out of her.

“Oh fuck!”

I groaned against her.

Oh fuck is right, church girl.
Your devil is back.
