Chapter 215 Book 2 CHPT 47: To Be Loved By A Don
VALENTINO’S POV

Then the realization suddenly hit her.

“Oh… Dante,” she scoffed.

“He must have heard from Giulia when I was planning to buy this villa.”

I nodded.

“Yes. I made sure to buy it first under an anonymous account and sell it to you at a lower price. If I had given it to you directly, you would have been suspicious.”

Her eyes narrowed slightly.

“So the agent…”

“She works for me,” I admitted. “I arranged everything.”

For a moment, she just stared at me.

Then her face broke again, but this time it was softer.

“You are wicked,” she whispered, but her voice was weaker now.

“Do you know how much I missed you?”

My chest tightened.

“Do you know how many nights I cried myself to sleep?” she continued.

“I kept thinking… our baby… our baby would grow up without a father.”

She stepped forward and fell into my arms, holding onto me tightly like she was afraid I might disappear again.

Her whole body was shaking as she cried into me. I held her tight, one hand stroking her hair, the other wrapped firmly around her waist.

“It’s okay, baby. I’m here now,” I whispered against her hair.

“I’m never leaving you again. Never.”

She just clung tighter, sobbing into my shirt, and I let her.

Let her get it all out.

All the pain, the worry, the months of me being gone. I deserved every tear soaking through to my skin.

I pulled back gently, lifting her face with both hands, thumbs brushing her wet cheeks until those beautiful eyes finally met mine.

God, I had missed looking into them.

“Look at me, moglie mia.”

I wiped her tears away slowly, savoring the feel of her skin under my thumbs.

Then I leaned in and kissed her. Soft at first, just a brush of lips, then deeper, pouring every apology I couldn’t say into that kiss.

Her hand moved to her stomach instinctively, and that was when I completely broke.

I dropped to my knees in front of her without thinking.

“I’m sorry,” I said again, my voice shaking now.

“I am so sorry for that pain. I am so sorry I made you carry that fear. I swear to you, I will spend the rest of my life making it up to you.”

She looked down at me, tears falling freely.

“I missed you,” she said finally, her voice soft but heavy with everything she went through.

“I missed you so much, Val.”

I reached for her carefully, placing my hand over hers on her stomach.

“I’m here now,” I whispered. “I’m not going anywhere. Not anymore.”

For a moment, she resisted.

Then slowly, her body gave in.

I just smiled up at her, then reached for the hem of her gown.

Her eyes widened.

I lifted it slowly, revealing her stomach, our baby, round and perfect under the fabric.

My breath caught.

I leaned in and pressed my lips to the warm swell, kissing her belly like it was sacred.

“I can’t wait to meet our baby,” I murmured against her skin.

“I know you’re due anytime soon. I can’t wait.”

I looked up at her. “Do you want to tell me the gender?”

She shook her head, a tiny smile breaking through.

“No. I won’t.”

I chuckled, kissing her stomach again. “Okay, baby. I’m in for all the surprises.”

My hand spread across her belly, rubbing slow circles, feeling the warmth, the life growing there.

I kissed her again, right above her navel, then looked up to find her watching me with soft, shining eyes.

She was happy now. I could see it.

The tension in her shoulders had melted, and that smile, God, that smile, was finally back.

“Have you forgiven me, moglie mia?” I whispered, holding her gaze.

“Please forgive me.”

She pulled back just enough to cup my face while I stayed there on my knees before her.

Her thumbs traced my jaw before she spoke.

“How could I ever get angry at the father of my child?” Her voice was soft.

“No. Never. I love you so much, Val.”

My heart nearly burst. “I love you too, moglie mia.”

I kissed her stomach one more time.

“And I miss you so much,” I added.

“I miss you too.”

I shook my head, a slow smile spreading across my face.

“No, not just that kind of miss.”

Her brow furrowed. “What are you on about?”

I let my grin turn mischievous, watching her face shift from confusion to suspicion to something warmer.

My hand slid down slowly past her hip, past her thigh, until my fingers found the edge of her underwear.

She inhaled sharply.

I hooked my thumb under the damp fabric and pulled it aside, my eyes never leaving hers.

“I miss this,” I said, my voice dropping into a low growl.

Then I leaned in, pressing my face between her legs, and repeated it against her already dripping heat.

“I miss devouring you, moglie mia.”
