Chapter 98 Decision
Robin couldn't really blame Julia. Even though husbands and wives aren't supposed to share everything privately, when it comes to personal matters like this, the man would never say anything. Then, suddenly, something would happen that would definitely make things worse and lead to misunderstandings for all parties involved, and that's not a good thing.
"Okay, I think whatever it was doesn't matter at all. What matters now is how you can navigate your life after all this. And I'm very sure you're also stressed about all this, and I'm sure you feel guilty."
"So what else does he want from you now? Tell me, because whatever it is, I'm ready to accept it."
Robin remained silent, and it felt like we didn't know if he could even tell the woman in front of him about this. Saying such a horrific final message was incredibly difficult for a wife, as if it were a message that could never be undone by any means possible. And of course, as a man, Robin didn't know what else to do. He just tried his best to maintain the mission that should have come true, making this one of the best reasons for anyone to hold on to their desires. But maybe this all happened? The answer was no, and in the end, the man could only deal with all the choices that would never make him okay.
"He didn't say anything but told the truth about what he had done. I think this is very human, and of course, I feel that it's something quite good. As someone who has probably experienced loss, I think perhaps your husband just wanted to let you know that he was the perpetrator of all this, and that was enough."
"Then what will you do?"
Robin fell silent again. For a moment, he tried to understand the memories within him, even though they seemed very confusing, but he still tried to be firm in this matter.
"We have to stop him. Even though I know this is the only way to get revenge, it's the wrong way, so we have to stop him. We have to round up all the killers and save them first, and then we try to find a way to end this all well."
This morning, Kay was at home. Not like usual, some days we don't even come home at all. Julia, who happened to have been at home some time ago, felt that this was a golden opportunity for her to talk to her husband about the problems that had occurred in the last few days. Actually, Julia and Robin had agreed to meet each other after this because they had to find out and also collect some other evidence left behind at their place.
"Are you home yet? Should I make you food?"
Julia almost got up from her seat but her husband shook his head and grabbed her hand to keep her sitting.
"I just ate, you don't need to bother making me food. Have you been well these last few days?"
A look that was so very tired and also closed and Julia knew that very well. The woman couldn't even bear to see the expression on her husband's face, which was really so crumpled as if there was no happiness there. Even if her husband were truly a cold-blooded killer, seeing all his enemies die one by one would certainly create a sense of satisfaction and joy at his victory. But Kay wasn't like that; he seemed to be carrying a thousand burdens that no one could ever deny. Julia desperately wanted to hug her husband and tell him that this shouldn't continue, that it should stop, and that everything would be fine. But she was so certain that no matter how much he told her, he wouldn't listen and would continue to deny everything she said. And this was certainly a powerful warning to everyone.
"Are you going to leave again after this? Or did you leave something at home and come back for a bit?"
"I just wanted to see your face. Luckily, you're home."
Julia's heart was truly trembling. She immediately lowered her head and wept uncontrollably upon hearing her husband's words. It was incredibly painful, as her husband chose to focus on revenge and try to get rid of her so she wouldn't be implicated in this horrific scandal.
Julia immediately hugged her husband tightly. This school had become a truly serious matter. She couldn't stand to act okay anymore, because she wasn't okay at all and was feeling too much and terrible pressure all this time.
"Can you stop everything? Can you stop doing things that scare me, and I don't want to lose you? Everything is fine. I'll help you no matter what, as long as it's not like this."
Julia was truly in awe. She was so fragile, and she didn't know how to control herself so easily in this terrifying life. However, she also knew that her husband would never obey her at all. He had a mission, and this was something she had been waiting for for a long time. Julia also remembered her husband saying that killing was something he had dreamed of and the only reason he had survived until now.
"Aren't you tired? Rest. Don't force yourself to burn with anger and make everything worse like this."
Kay knew this was a fatal mistake. He had been so exhausted and scared all night. He wanted to go to his wife and hug her and tell her how devastated he had been. But he couldn't say anything. If he did, he was sure his wife would be even more devastated and weaker than she already was. He couldn't be weak, that was what he believed, and he didn't want to give her false hope, making it all undeniable. And of course, he was sure his wife would be very happy in the future, no matter what. Even without him by her side.
