Chapter 94 The Fact Of Julia
Hearing this, of course, managed to shock Robin beyond belief. The man simply shook his head completely and then rubbed his face roughly because of all the things that had happened. "Julia, I'm sorry. I never thought you'd be this devastated. I... I really, really love you! It's just that I have to choose between two options: the woman I love, you, and the woman who will make my life so much better: my wife. You know, my life as a police officer and my meager salary aren't enough to truly live comfortably. And if I married my wife, even without working, I could become a wealthy businessman. Believe me, I've even saved up money to separate from my wife and be free because I truly don't love her at all, and marrying her was just a formality."
Hearing this, Julia became even more furious. The woman immediately slapped Robin very hard, but Robin didn't retaliate at all. He knew he was wrong and wouldn't defend himself at all.
"After you destroyed me, how could you even think about destroying your wife? Are you crazy?"
"Because all this time I was married, I was just used as a servant by them, and I couldn't take it any longer."
And the latest news was news of another death, and that immediately sent Julia into a weak state.
Before they could even leave to attend to their own affairs, news of this horrific death arrived again.
Naturally, everyone was in a state of panic; the entire police force was at a loss for what to do. But what was strange was why Mr. Michelle hadn't given the order for the entire special police team to take action? He simply stood there, doing nothing. Normally, when something even a small incident occurs that makes everyone dizzy, even the police overwhelmed, he would immediately hand the entire matter over to the elite police team, and they would be handled immediately. What was really happening? Was it true that Mr. Michelle was feeling so scared right now? Afraid that he would be the next target? Moreover, this wasn't the fifth name of the 13 symbols; this was something different. These murders were starting to be random, and that was the reality. Robin looked at Julia with such a depressed feeling that I finally just asked, seeing something passing by, and that made the man feel that this was indeed very strange. From the reflection of the marble in the kitchen of the deceased police chief's house, he saw Mr. Michelle's shadow clearly in the room. It was unknown what the man was doing, but when Robin turned to Julia, the shadow simply vanished. This, of course, piqued Robin's curiosity.
"Are you sure Mr. Michelle didn't tell you to study this case with your friends?"
"Not at all."
At that moment, Robin didn't have any further thoughts. He only thought that perhaps Mr. Michelle felt this was a very complex and dangerous problem that not everyone could handle, and that she was most likely acting alone in handling the case. Even if she did, Robin wouldn't dare say much, as the previous conflict involving her pretending to be kidnapped was certainly one that would certainly create conflict with Mr. Michelle.
"We have to go to the next victim's house. The reason I mention victim is because I'm certain this isn't a suicide or a self-inflicted death. This is a murder case, and no matter how much you try to hide it from your husband, I'm not ruling out that he killed them all, as I don't think that's impossible. I still need to meet with your husband because I have some questions for him."
The college, of course, followed Robin's wishes. The two of them immediately got into the car to find out what had happened. Julia was now weighing her options. She didn't even know how to face her husband. She felt anxious, annoyed, resigned, and even angry, demanding that he stop doing such a heinous act. She knew they were both guilty of the deaths of her husband's parents, but wasn't there a better way to avenge her husband in a more tactful manner? Not by making herself a suspect when it was clear she was the victim in all of this. Julia remained silent, not even intending to say anything until Robin finally spoke again.
“I don’t know your reason, but seeing your utterly shocked face makes me want to laugh. It reflects all the worry you’re feeling, and it’s written so clearly. What are you really worried about? The deaths of some of the most famous people in this country certainly have nothing to do with you. Besides, it doesn’t matter what they died, anyway. Wouldn’t their absence be much better? They could all get to know each other, and perhaps the government would be much better without them. They’re already known as irresponsible leaders who always do such terrible things, so I find it incredibly strange that they would only commit such reprehensible acts.”
“Are you only thinking about how they died and then were replaced by someone else? I’m thinking about a lot of things, and it makes me feel uneasy. Honestly, of the thirteen symbols, do you not know the last name on the list?”
Hearing this, Robin turned his head slightly toward Julia, but he remained focused on the steering wheel.
"Who?"
"Mr. Michelle."
Robin immediately stopped the wheel and looked at Julia with a very serious gaze. Between disbelief and a sudden surge of excitement, his heart was beating incredibly fast again at the events unfolding.
What was this? It couldn't be possible, right? How could Mr. Michelle be involved in such a horrific murder? Robin knew Mr. Michelle's life; he was wealthy by birth, and even seemed to lead an ordinary life, showing no signs of arrogance. Even Mr. Michelle's wealth remained relatively constant year after year, not growing significantly. Or was he hiding all the stolen assets? But this also made no sense, because as far as Robin knew, Mr. Michelle was the head of an elite police team who truly hated crime in all its forms. He also fiercely defended the weak and would never kill so easily. So how could Mr. Michelle be the thirteenth person in all of this? Robin felt disbelief until he finally realized why Julia had seemed so panicked. Would she think what he was thinking? Or perhaps even more profoundly, she was starting to fear that Mr. Michelle would be the next victim.
"I'm sorry, I think I misunderstood you earlier and thought you seemed so tense because your husband might be involved in this case. It turns out you already knew that the thirteenth name was Mr. Michelle. How did you know that?"
