Chapter 65 The Gold Cover
"You guys sit here, I'll call Erik to eat with us."
"Can I look at your book collection? You have such a large collection, and I love reading. Maybe there are some books I shouldn't touch or look at? I'm afraid I'll be considered rude, and I also don't want you to think I'm rude to visit your house and then see your collection when you're gone."
Kay asked because she wanted to check out some things in this room, and she was well aware that there were CCTV cameras everywhere. It was impossible for her to sneak around, and she thought this might become a pretty serious problem. Therefore, she decided to ask, under the pretext of trying to choose a book and borrow it. It would be much better than pretending to investigate, as there were too many people and the security was too tight here. If her entire act were to be exposed, it would be quite troublesome.
"Of course, choose whatever book you want and read it, or you can take it home."
Mr. Adam then left then Kay rushed to stand and look at some of the books there, when she pulled one of the books there were some very dangerous weapons hidden from wall to wall also some CCTV that were much more attached in any area. There was even a laser beam that would even turn on automatically if needed if there were some people who might have taken the wrong step and that was certainly very scary. However, when the man tried to walk and find out more, he took a very thick book with a very strange cover that had Roman letters engraved and was golden. And when he took the subject he saw a very strange button with a lion's head shape and most likely the button was the key to all the secrets in this room. I don't know what this room is actually but he was very sure that there was something hidden and it must be something very important.
Kay held Apas perfectly still, remaining in front of the book and then began to open the book, but the corner of his eye kept searching for several locations that might be considered viral, then he mapped them on the inside of the box. Kay was a man with an incredibly sharp memory, able to remember anything with ease, even at a glance, and it didn't take much time to figure out everything there. Meanwhile, watching her husband choose a book, Julia finally stood up and sat beside him, examining some of the books there.
"The book you're reading seems interesting. Some of them are very thick and even made of gold, or not?"
Julia tried to look at the book her husband was reading, then the question danced, indicating that there was something very mysterious inside. Julia, seeing this, blinked and then flipped through the pages.
Whether it was a story, a work of art, or science, the book contained such strange symbols that they were completely at a loss for interpretation or understanding. "I don't understand this book either. The entire store is filled with symbols and Roman numerals, which I find very confusing. I don't know why Mr. Adam collects this book. Perhaps it's because it seems expensive, with its gold cover and gold leaf. I'm pretty sure this book is worth $100,000 or more."
Of course, he knew perfectly well that this was no ordinary law. He had even deliberately recorded everything there through his eyes. He was indeed using a lens that could record anything that was vital to his group members, making it very easy for me to obtain all the recordings. Fortunately, he hadn't undergone a more detailed examination. Meanwhile, he might have possessed several micro-weapons that could be used quite effectively, but of course, these couldn't be used freely because, after all, he still had to pretend to be a very kind and compassionate colleague whose kindness no one would ever ignore.
Not long after, Mr. Adam emerged with Erik. Still with his usual casual demeanor, Kay showed Mr. Adam the law she had brought. Mr. Adam's expression changed, from initially relaxed and calm to intense, as he took the book from Kay.
"My apologies, Mr. Alexander. However, this isn't meant for just anyone to read. It makes me the only one here. It's quite strange and requires specialized knowledge to read. This is a selection of some of the unique and fascinating aspects of reading philosophy from ancient times. That's why this book still receives such a lavish reception and is so pleasing to the eye."
Mr. Adam immediately put the book back in its place and invited Kay to sit down with them. Shortly after, the main course was brought out by several waiters, and it was, of course, incredibly delicious and incredibly expensive.
Kay grinned at this, knowing full well that there was a great secret behind the book, even from the various symbols on it. The man's expression was very serious, and he tried to act calm, even though deep down he was certain there was something he was hiding and that he would definitely catch anything he could. Besides, who understands and doesn't understand this? Even a madman would know what's important and what's not, and it seemed like the book was placed there by accident, perhaps because he thought it wouldn't attract anyone's attention.
"All these dishes you've served are so exquisite, I'm very embarrassed if you invite me to eat like this. Besides, I'm sure this room isn't really a dining room for your guests, is it? I feel even more uncomfortable because you've treated me like a lucky guest here."
Mr. Adam laughed out loud at that, then patted Kay's shoulder quite hard. And of course, the touch succeeded in traumatizing the young man again, and he gripped both of his hands, which Mr. Adam read.
"What's wrong? Was my punch hard enough? I'm sorry, Mr. Alexander."
