Purple party tournament
Purple party tournament
Chapter 170
Ruby's POV
My plan could finally go into motion. My happy thoughts were soon broken as the loud sound of the door being pushed open with a bang got to my ear, and my back straightened like a pin.
“What are you doing?” Little Black’s voice caught me off guard, and my shoulders relaxed slightly, but at the same time, my mouth pressed into a firm line as I grabbed the second leg of my shoe and hurled it at him.
“How many times do I have to tell you to stop sneaking up on me?” I groaned, frustrated, as he chuckled softly and easily dodged the flying shoe, his hands still deeply hidden in his pockets.
“It’s not my fault you don’t pay attention to your surroundings. But don’t worry, you have me.” Little Black smiled, placing a hand on his chest as he bent down to pick up my shoe, then stalked toward me with large strides..
My heart squeezed hard in my chest as I watched him come closer. He was the spitting image of his father. My genes hadn’t made an effort to show up even a little in him. Instead, he had his father’s sharp features and striking blue eyes, and the same wavy black hair that framed his face perfectly.
“What are you doing here at this time?” I asked him, turning my back and standing up.
I walked over to a point on the wall and pulled out a small tile, revealing a hidden safe behind it. I pressed the small device into the safe and slammed it shut before turning back to Little Black, who had been watching me all along. He seemed like he had something weighing on his mind.
“I never thought a day would come when you’d complain about me willingly coming back into this room just to get locked up again… Dont you think i came back this early just because i missed you.” Little Black said, but his words didn’t match the serious look on his face.
“Little Black…” I called, glaring at him. “How did your day go? Hope you weren't beaten up so much today?” I asked as my voice got softer.
“Ah, I’d say it’s a plus. I wasn’t beaten up so much today, and I was asked to leave early. Besides, I had something else I had to do.” Black replied, trying to sound casual as he turned around to suddenly admire the shoe rack close to him like he was just seeing it for the first time in seven years making my eyebrows rise.
“Were you able to do what I asked?” I asked as I walked over to the first aid box on the other side of the room and picked it up, then returned to him.
“Yes, I was. Putting that little chip in his phone was no problem for me.” Black said proudly as he tapped his foot on the flood.
“Good. Come here.” I ordered. He gave a nervous laugh but stalked closer, stopping just a few feet from me. Without warning, I darted to reach out, pulled him closer and pulled him into my arms and hugged him tightly.
“Hey, Mom! Has nobody ever told you that you give the most crushing hugs? It hurts! Unhand me!” Little Black cried out, and I slowly let him go.
“That would teach you to stop lying to me. Even if you want to do that, you should learn to look me in the eye, that gave you away.” I snapped, my hands moving to ruffle his hair. “Now, take your shirt off and give me a rundown of how your day went.” I said as I moved to open the first aid box. “And this time, I expect no lies.”
Little Black grumbled under his breath but grudgingly took off his shirt.
My teeth gritted in anger as I saw the small marks scattered all over his skin. His muscles were taut, which showed he had been trained hard like a dog today again.
“My training went on like any other day… but what puzzled me was that the same was done to the other heirs. Bill trained them hard too…” Little Black started as I began cleaning his wounds carefully.
“So you believe something is coming…” I asked softly, continuing to clean each cut. “Perhaps they’ll hold a tournament within the city. That shouldn’t concern you since you’re not an heir. That means you get a few days to rest.” I said calmly, feeling my chest lighten slightly.
“I don’t think it’s a tournament within the city,” Black said calmly, and I paused what I was doing to look up at him, my heart suddenly feeling heavier.
“Why do you think so?” I asked, waiting for him to continue, sensing that what he was about to say might not be something i would like to hear.
“The heirs are being trained hard while I’m sidelined, which is unusual. Bill is trying to make Ryan and the rest of the kids which is quite diffrent from the norm of ganging up to beat the hell out of me. I suspect there’s going to be a Purple Party tournament.” Little Black finished, and the cotton wool in my hand dropped to the floor in shock. A Purple Party tournament?
“Thankfully, you are not an heir,” I said with a small weak smile as my heart began to settle, until I heard Black’s next words.
“From Bill’s attitude, I’m going to be participating.” Black said, his voice steady but serious.
My breath caught sharply in my throat.
“You’re not of age yet. You’re not even eight years old! Are they trying to send you to your death?” My voice slowed as the reality hit me hard.
Suddenly, everything clicked into place, the fear I had been trying to ignore. The time I had been dreading for so long was finally here. Dominic was finally goint to get rid of us.
