Chapter 7
I begged Kane desperately, but he just curled his lips into a playful smile.
Those deep eyes, carved like gemstones, revealed the cruel pleasure of a hunter toying with his prey.
He reached out his slender, pale hand with distinct knuckles and gently pinched my chin.
I was forced to look up and meet his gaze directly.
"I already warned you on the phone, but you just wouldn't listen. If I don't teach you a lesson, I don't think you'll ever learn to behave."
As he spoke, I caught sight of his bodyguard pinning Nina down.
My whole body trembled uncontrollably, and tears streamed down my face.
"It's my fault, all my fault. Please, let Nina go. I'll do whatever you want."
I reached out and grabbed the wrist of the hand that was pinching my chin, my voice choked with sobs.
My pleading and submission seemed to please him, and Kane's expression softened a bit.
"To prevent any accidents at our wedding, I've decided to take your good friend away until our wedding is over."
He raised his other hand and snapped his fingers lightly.
I watched Nina scream and struggle, but I was powerless. I could only watch helplessly as my best friend was taken away from the bar by Kane's bodyguards—because of me.
"Mr. Kane, what you're doing is illegal."
Daniel, who had been forcibly held down on the sofa, finally couldn't help but speak up.
I could tell he was scared too, but he still bravely stood up for us.
Kane's eyes narrowed slightly, and a dangerous aura radiated from him.
"Do you think the law means anything to me?" His tone carried contempt and a hint of murderous intent.
My heart jumped, and I quickly turned to Daniel and said, "I'll bring Nina back. Today's events have nothing to do with you."
Daniel looked at me, then at Kane, wanting to say something, but finally closed his mouth under Kane's intimidation.
"The annoying mosquito has finally quieted down. Now let's deal with our business."
Kane suddenly picked me up and threw me over his shoulder. I cried out in surprise and instinctively grabbed onto his clothes at his waist.
"Where are you taking me?"
My voice trembled uncontrollably, filled with confusion and fear about what was going to happen next.
Kane actually slapped my butt.
But his hand didn't leave. Instead, he grabbed my soft flesh and kneaded it repeatedly.
I heard his light laughter, tinged with danger as deep as an abyss.
"Of course, taking you where you need to go."
Kane's palm was burning hot, like a branding iron pressed against the soft flesh of my buttocks.
I was both ashamed and angry, but I didn't dare struggle.
His people had already taken Nina away. I wasn't sure if I struggled desperately, whether he would do something bad to Nina.
Kane carried me out of Dark Night in front of everyone.
Not a single person dared to object. In fact, as he walked past, everyone tactfully moved aside, clearing a path.
A sense of despair welling up from deep inside made me give up struggling.
Maybe this is just my fate.
Whether in my stepfather's hands or in Kane's hands, there's no difference.
Kane carried me and strode onto a helicopter.
He threw me onto the leather seat of the helicopter.
"To Rockefeller Estate," Kane said coldly to the helicopter pilot.
I instinctively curled up in the corner, hugging my legs, not daring to speak.
The aircraft roared to life again. I felt a sense of weightlessness, and my body instinctively tilted to the side, falling into a strong embrace.
Kane held me tightly, lowered his head, and looked at me with a half-smile in his eyes.
"Looks like my cupcake is getting a bit impatient."
Just as I was about to say something, Kane suddenly gripped my shoulder.
The next second, I felt a sharp pain in my lips, and tears instantly fell again.
Lord, he actually took my first kiss!
Merciful Lord, please open your eyes and see. I was forced, I haven't betrayed you.
Kane lifted his head slightly with satisfaction. I saw a trace of blood on his lips. He stuck out his tongue and licked the blood into his mouth.
"Tastes as good as I imagined."
Kane smiled at me.
At this moment, I felt nothing anymore.
The plane soon landed on an open space in front of a remote manor.
Is this the legendary Rockefeller Estate?
I was shocked speechless by the massive structure before me. I thought our church was grand enough, but I never expected this manor to be even bigger. Almost ten times, no, a hundred times the size of the church.
The old-century castle-style building was like a monster staring at me. Once I went in, it would devour me completely.
Kane noticed my fear and gently put his arm around my shoulder, but his tone carried a warning.
"You need to behave here and do everything a fiancée should do."
I wanted to struggle and resist, but thinking about Nina being taken away by his people, I became docile again. I looked up at him, tears glistening in my eyes.
"If I do what you ask, will you let Nina go?"
Kane didn't answer. He just forcefully led me into the castle.
The inside of the castle wasn't as scary as it looked from the outside.
A huge crystal chandelier cast a warm yellow light, adding a touch of warmth to this Gothic building.
Inside stood maids in uniform, who bowed their heads the moment Kane and I entered.
Kane took me upstairs to a room.
The room was huge, even bigger than the Dark Night Bar we'd just left.
Being alone with Kane in this enclosed space, I couldn't help but worry.
I instinctively wanted to escape, but Kane stood behind me like a wall, unmoving.
"You want to run away again. Looks like you really don't listen. I really should give you a little lesson."
As soon as he finished speaking, my body was lifted into the air.
Amid my screams, I was thrown onto the soft large bed in the room.
The fresh scent of laundry detergent rushed into my nose, making me feel a bit less panicked.
But the next second, the laundry detergent smell was completely covered by Kane's scent—a mixture of cigar and cologne that filled the surrounding air.
Kane pressed down on me, gripped my neck, and brought his lips to my ear.
"Ready to receive your special punishment?"
As he said this, I clearly felt his other hand moving down toward the hem of my skirt!
Kane's hand went deeper and deeper. I couldn't help but tremble all over.
No, this can't happen!
I absolutely cannot betray the Lord!
In my panic, I saw a fruit plate on the bedside table.
There was a small knife in the plate for cutting fruit.
I don't know where I found the courage and strength, but I struggled desperately and lunged toward the knife!
