Ryan's POV

After staying at the hospital for two more days, Helen and I were discharged. Brianna was trying to be there for both of us at the same time and watching her go back and forth was really cute.

After we were done freshening up, we ate dinner and three of us stayed in the sitting room.

"You haven't told me about Justin yet, you've been postponing it for a while now. Don't you want to tell me about it?" I asked

"Why won't I tell you? It's not like I have a choice and besides, it's not something trivial so I can't hide it from you" Brianna said

"Alright, I'm listening then" I said

"Helen, can you excuse us for a moment? I will be with you soon" she said

Why didn't I think about that? Since Helen is Brianna's friend, I just see her as one of us. I forgot she doesn't know anything about the cartel.

After Helen left, Brianna faced me with a serious look while I rolled my eyes.

"Just say whatever you want to say and stop being like this. I like the cute you" I said

"You can still tease me at a time like this right? Whatever! So the main thing and summary of everything is that Justin betrayed you.

He was the one that hit you with that bus and he also kidnapped me and tried to rape me. Not just that, he's working with Alexander's cartel in order to take away the cartel from you" she explained

"So you're saying Justin is colluding with the enemy? I understand if he wants you because you are beautiful and since I'm an obstacle, he tried to get me out of the way but colluding with the enemy is just too much. You need evidence to prove that...." Brianna didn't let me finish what I was saying before cutting me off

"Am I not enough proof? I have no reason to lie against Justin and this was why I never said anything from the start. You trust him and treat him like your own brother so you believe him completely while I'm a nobody to you" she said

"Don't say that Brianna, you know I didn't mean it that way. I just think that Justin has no reason to betray me. He's my right hand man and has almost the same rights in the cartel as me. He couldn't possibly want anything else right?" I asked

"He has no reason to betray you but I have a million reasons to lie to you right?" she asked

"No Rian, I believe you. So what next now? How can I remove him from the position of underboss after so many years?" I sighed

"I already replaced him while you were unconscious. I was beginning to suspect him back then so I did it just in case my suspicions turn out to be true" she explained

"Oh my world! How are you so perfect at whatever you do? Now that you've taken preventive measures, I need to right all the wrongs. Let's go to the cartel this night" I said

"No, we will go tomorrow. You still need rest so don't even dare think about going anywhere tonight" she warned

"Yes ma'am" I teased

She took me to my room and returned to her room to be with Helen.

Brianna's POV

Ryan, Helen and I went out the next day to have fun. The doctor said they've been in the hospital for too long especially Ryan so he said going out for some air will help them recover quickly.

While they were having fun, I noticed that two men were watching our every move.

"Ryan, those two men have been staring at us. Do you think Justin sent them to do something to you?" I asked

"Even if he sent them, they can't possibly do anything in a place that is as crowdy as this. To be on the safe side though, I think we should return home soon" Ryan suggested

"Alright, I will tell Helen about it" I said and went to Helen

"Helen, we will be going home soon" I said

"But why? You said we would be out till late in the evening so why did you suddenly change your mind?" she pouted

"Ryan isn't feeling too well so we need to return as soon as possible" I lied

"Oh! Is he okay?" she asked, glancing at him

"He will be fine with enough rest once we return home" I said

Helen agreed to go home after I told her about Ryan and we returned home within a few minutes. We lost the men on the way and arrived at the mansion safely.

After helping Helen to my room, I went to meet Ryan in his room.

"We haven't talked about going to the cartel. Are we still going tonight?" I asked

"Yes, we need to go there as soon as possible to check the situation of things" Ryan said

"But I really don't like the idea. You just recovered and you are already going there so soon. What if something happens?" I asked

"What could possibly happen to me in my own cartel? Justin can try whatever he wants anywhere but he wouldn't dare mess with me at the cartel because as long as I'm the boss, every member will listen to me" Ryan stated

"Fine then! But we will take some of your guards with us just in case" I said

"They don't know about the cartel so they can't go along with me" Ryan objected

"They can just stay outside the gate instead. I want to take them with us so that I can be rest assured if something happens" I said

"Alright, we can take them with us" Ryan agreed

The door was suddenly opened and I turned around only to see Helen staring at us suspiciously.

"What are both of you always discussing secretly behind my back?" she asked

"What do you mean by that? We are in a relationship so we definitely want to spend time together" I said with a small smile

"Spending time with each other is different. Besides, didn't you say Ryan was sick? Shouldn't you be taking care of him instead of spending time together?" she asked

"I forgot! I will get his drugs for him now" I said and proceeded to leave but Helen stopped me

"The reason why we left the beach wasn't because Ryan was sick right?" she asked

"What are you talking about? We left the beach because he's sick" I said nervously

"You really will continue to keep everything from me right?" she asked

"Okay Helen. I noticed that some guys were watching us so I wanted us to leave because I felt it wasn't save" I explained

"Why didn't you just tell me that? You always keep so many secrets from me and still claim that I'm your best friend" she said

"No Helen, it's not like that. I'm sorry" I apologized

"It's fine, I will leave you guys alone" she said and left

I went to meet her and tried to console her until it was time for Ryan and I to leave.

"I have to go somewhere with Ryan. We will be back before you know it. Just make sure you sleep on time" I told her

"Where are you going by this time of the night?" she asked

"I will explain everything to you when we return. For now, just get enough rest okay?" I said

She nodded her head and I helped her lay on the bed. I turned off the lights and went to meet Ryan in his room after which we left with some of his guards.
