Chapter 25 Chapter 25
Chapter 25 Chapter 25
Katsura
Two years later…
Two years later, the clan Alessio still did not know that the omega they hunted down to kill was still living among them.
Whatever he told them was none of my business.
That was how it was supposed to be, they didn’t have to know I was alive even though I wasn’t dangerous to the clan like they lied I was.
I had learned, over time, that survival sometimes meant asking no questions at all.
The years passed quietly, too quietly for someone who once lived every day expecting death.
I finished medical school under the private tutor hand-picked by Alessio himself. He made sure my education matched college standards, even exceeded them.
When I officially began practicing, he opened a small clinic at the edge of the clan territory. It wasn’t public. It wasn’t for outsiders, it was for the clan.
And I became their healer.
They came to me with broken bones, deep wounds, poisoned blood, fevers that refused to break. They never asked who I truly was.
They never questioned why an omega lived under Alpha Alessio’s protection. They only knew that when they were brought to my clinic, they were left alive.
That was enough for me since I was accepted by their Alpha, Alessio.
Helen gave birth a year after everything happened. A strong pup. A boy. The entire clan celebrated, but I stayed away. Helen made sure of that.
She never allowed me near the child.
“A lowly omega brings curses,” she said once, her voice sharp and final. “You will never touch my pup.”
I didn’t argue with her… I never did, it was never my concern.
Alessio never forced her either. He simply… watched. He was always present in their lives making sure he was a good father and I admired him for that.
He spoke to Helen when needed, and he also took his position as a mafia don seriously. He never joked with that, but there was a distance there that even I could feel.
And yet… he never touched me.
Not once.
There were nights I thought he would. Nights when silence sat heavy between us, when his eyes lingered too long. Once, I reached for him without thinking. He caught my wrist gently and shook his head.
“Not yet,” he said. “Wait for the right time.”
So I waited.
He traveled often for business, alliances, and wars whispered about but never confirmed. When he was gone, Janiece stayed with me. She brought her children during long holidays, filling the mansion with laughter and noise. Those were the only times the house felt warm.
But even with all that… there was always something missing.
And it was him… I didn’t know how much I missed him until this moment.
That afternoon was hot, the kind of heat that clung to skin and made breathing feel heavy. Rumors moved fast through the mansion that day. Whispers said Alessio was returning from a long trip. Some said he would arrive before nightfall.
I didn’t let myself hope for him even though I prayed silently that he would come home.
I locked up the clinic, wiping down the counter and stacking my supplies. Just as I reached for my bag, a sharp knock echoed against the glass door.
I frowned. I wanted to go home, eat, and maybe get some good sleep.
The clinic wasn’t open anymore, so I had to put up the closed sign.
I walked over and pulled the door open halfway.
A young man stood there, blood soaking through his sleeve.
“Go to the hospital,” I said immediately. “You need proper…”
“I heard you’re the best healer in the clan,” he interrupted, his voice strained. “Please.”
“I can’t,” I replied firmly. “You’re not from here. The hospital…”
He pushed past me, making me stagger away.
The door swung shut behind him as he stumbled inside and dropped into a chair.
“Hurry,” he said, breathing hard. “Or I might bleed out and die.”
Was this Dejavu?
Wasn’t this the same thing that happened which landed me in trouble with Alessio?
I stared at him, anger flaring, but empathy kicked in faster.
I grabbed gloves, gauze, and disinfectant.
“Where are you from?” I asked as I cut away his sleeve.
“Just a traveler,” he said. “Foreign lands, the people of your clan robbed me.”
The wound was deep but clean. It was just knife slashes… There were no gunshots wounds.
I worked quickly, cleaning and stitching, my hands steady despite the unease settling in my chest.
“You shouldn’t wander into clan territory alone,” I said.
He smiled weakly. “Didn’t know it was this dangerous.”
When I finished, I wrapped his arm and stepped back.
“You’re done,” I said. “Leave, and please don’t come back.”
He stood up, one hand on his wounded arm, but then he staggered weakly, almost collapsing to the ground.
Before I could react, he collapsed forward.
I caught him instinctively, and just then the door opened.
I stiffened when I saw who it was, but I didn’t let go of the dying man in my arms.
Alessio stood by the door, his eyes were dark… too dark. Anger and jealousy rolled off him in waves so strong I felt it in my bones.
He looked at the man in my arms, then at me.
“Take him,” Alessio ordered coldly to his guards.
Guards appeared instantly, pulling the stranger away.
Alessio’s gaze never left me.
“Follow me,” he said.
